Chapter 1: Prologue.

"Every person in this world may experience something interesting even if they live an ordinary life".

Who said that? Well, it was me. hehe.

Name Kaneko Fuji, age 19, living an ordinary life in an ordinary city with relatively ordinary circumstances.

If you asked me how many of my circumstances were normal, then I would say most of them are.

In my high school days when I was in my first year, I had an accident. Not just me, but my parents too. we had a trip that we decided to go on and were on the road heading peacefully to the location for our fun time. Also to say, I don't remember where we were headed.

Yeah, I don't remember anything.

Even with how the accident took place, I don't know the details included.

The cherry on top is that I don't remember my parents either. Yeah, what a sad aspect of my life it is. But I'm a very cheerful guy, At least on the inside. Let's not say that I don't have any friends to be cheerful with.

Back to the point, My parents passed away in the accident and I was left alone.

I didn't understand any of it so it was a very confusing time of my life. Fortunately, there was one relative I had that decided that he would take me in. He was my father's cousin. They lived in a pretty tight spot for financials but they decided to take care of me anyways.

Nowadays I look at the picture with my parents and say; "were these my parents?", and end up sad.

So I finally graduated from Highschool last year and now I'm an ordinary full-time worker, working to earn money. I live in an ordinary apartment that I bought with my relative's help and moved in.

Why did I move out you say?, well, as I had mentioned they lived in a pretty tight financial situation and they had a daughter that was in the third year of middle school now so, I had to stand on my legs and do something. Due to that, I took a step in practical life. At one time I thought about going to college then decided that it would be a pain as I had no motivation for studies anyway.

Yeah, I know education is important but I didn't care if I could live like this my entire life and I don't have a lover to love either so...

Yeah, that's that, don't you dare pity me! I can still get someone!

My life isn't that hard as I'm the only one that has to take care of myself. so I never give up and keep going.

Today is a special day you know?

How? well, I just got my pay.

I'm gonna go to the store to buy some supplies and manga and head home cause it's pretty late.

I step out of my apartment. I should probably make sure the gate's properly locked or not because you don't know what might happen these days even if this is a shabby apartment.

I walk towards the store. It's a bit of a long errand because the manga I desire is available only there!

I arrive in front of the store. It's a pretty ordinary store I say.

Buy some breakfast. Some snacks. Things for cooking food. AND the manga I journeyed here for!

I pay for the stuff and get out of the store. I'm pacing right now because I wanna read the manga!

as I keep walking thinking about what I should do with this money later, that's when two men pop out of the alley from behind me.

I did see them and I was right that they were very suspicious. It's scary being followed by some strangers.

Panicking inside I try to calm myself.

What do they want?

they want something, don't they?

what should I do?

should I run?

should I face them?

no what if they chase me?

they must be after my money, right?

As I'm contemplating in my head what I should do, one of them paces up to me and puts a hand on my shoulder...

I calm my urge to shriek...

"Hey, mister can I ask you for some help?".

"Y-yes? w-what do you want from me?".

"Mister we just need some money".

The other one comes forward saying; " Yeah Yeah!, we badly need some money!".

My.... money?

I try to plead a bit

"Please! I don't have any money on me let me go!".

The man pins me to the wall...

"Wha-! please don't hurt me I'll give you the money!".

I surrender.

Now I won't be able to last my month...

I hand out the money with trembling hands...

"Here! take it! just let me go!"

The man takes the money...

"Thanks for ya co operation, mister!"

While he puts it in his pocket I see a firearm behind the jacket he's wearing... I flinch.

I'm not brave enough to oppose in a situation like this!

"Please! just let me go!".

"Hey mister, tell me what you just saw now?"

"Wha-? I didn't see anything!"

"You saw something didn't you?"

I take a deep look into his eyes.

Ahh... he's not gonna let me go, is he?

"I can't let you go like that now can I?"

The other man speaks; " Yeah! you saw it didn't you?!, better teach him a lesson to not talk bout this brother!"

The man takes out a knife from behind his back.

'No! please! don't hurt me!"

What should I do?!

I need to run!

As I make up my mind inside I remember I'm carrying a bag of supplies in my hand... I hit his face with the bag and after breaking free make a run for it.

They keep chasing me! they won't give up!

I see a park there! there might be a guard on patrol there!

I make my motive to head to the park.

There appears a crossing in front of me, my whole mind, frantically searching for savings doesn't pay any attention to my surroundings and I leap onto the road and try to cross it...

{Beep.Beep.Beep...BEEEEEEEP}

I hear the sound of a horn from my side and my eyes are blinded by a bright light.

In the confusion, I struggle but realize that I'm at the crossroad when it was red.

ah, so a car's about to hit me...

As I came to a realization, the car had already gotten close for comfort, dodging it isn't an option...

Ahhh... I don't wanna die...

Please...

In the next moment, a car hits a person that was running in the middle of the road...

A loud .. "thump!" is heard, and the body flings midair slamming onto the hard road.

Blood begins to rush out of the man's head.

The driver of the car steps out running.

{Mister! can you hear me? are you alright?!}

{I need an ambulance! A person suddenly jumped in front of my car and my car hit him! please hurry!}

{Hey can you hear me?! don't pass out! help's coming!}

Ahhh... a man's saying something to me.

Is this... the end?

am gonna die....like this?

I wish I got to live more...

I can feel my consciousness fading already.

So many emotions are welling up.

I feel very strange...

If I ever get a chance again... I swear that I will be strong, reliable, and become a better person...

Ahhh.....

At that time the man's consciousness fades and he passes away.

Somewhere in a dark cave...
