“So it is true… You really were trying to sneak off without us.” Armeyas whipped her head around and made eye contact with her younger sister. “I told you Ren-Ren, she really was going to leave us.” Her other sister popped out from behind Ren-Ren.
“This doesn’t concern either of you, and besides I will be back before you know it.” Armeyas smiled at her two younger siblings and went to pat their heads, but her hands were slapped away as the two just glared at her. “We are not kids anymore Mey-Mey, and we want to go with you. This is just as much our problem as it is yours.”
“Yea! It is just as May-May says!” Armeyas lowered her head. “Forgive me, but I cannot allow you to come, Renna. The same goes for you Amaya.” Armeyas tried to plead with them, but the twins weren’t having it.
“If you don’t let us come we’ll scream! Armeyas is trying to…!” Armeyas quickly covered Renna’s mouth. “Stop! You can come, but only as far as the lake…”
“Ehehehe” “Hehehehe”
I have a bad feeling about this…
I should have listened to my gut. “What’s with that look on your face Mey-Mey.” “Yeah Mey-Mey what’s wrong?”
“Why do you think I look like this?” Armeyas glared at the two. “Scary! You look just like uncle!” “Yea uncle would be proud!”
“Haah…” Armeyas looked at the two and let out a defeated sigh. ““If you sigh like that your happiness will leave you Mey-Mey.””
“If my happiness left me it would be both of your fault for insisting on coming past the lake.” Armeyas and her two sisters had crossed the frozen lake, and they were staring off into the blizzard. The cold was already beginning to bite at them. “Seriously, both of you should go back.”
Ignoring their sister’s words, the two stepped away from the old hermit houses towards the ceaseless storm. “Hey, you two!”
““Catch us if you can!”” I seriously don’t know what I am going to do with these two. “Damnit! Wait for me!” Armeyas chased after her sisters before they could disappear into the white abyss. When she caught them she grabbed both of their arms. “You both won’t relent, will you?” Both Amaya and Renna shook their heads. “Haah, at least stay close to me.”
““Yay!””
They all held hands as they walked deeper into the snowy prison. The only thing they had with them was Armeyas’ backpack full of supplies and the thick coats that covered their hides. When Armeyas turned to look back after a while, she could no longer see anything familiar. Around her in every direction was snow.
“Hey, Mey-Mey, Ren-Ren!” Amaya started tugging on Armeyas’ arm. Something clearly startled here. “What is it, May-May?” “Yea what’s wrong, Amaya?”
“You mean to tell me neither of you heard that?” Armeyas and Renna just looked at her in confusion. Neither of them had heard anything except for the whistling winds which sent the frigid snow against their bodies. They were all shivering from the cold, and now Amaya was hearing things. “Listen! I am not mad! I heard it!”
“May-May, Wh-wh-whachoo!” What is this? Armeyas started to see her sister's face warping oddly. “Say Renna? Why do you look so funny? Hahahahaha!”
“What do you m-m-mean!? Both of you are acting funny! Hehe” Her face looks like an egg. Armeyas reached out to poke her sister's face, but the face she touched felt weird and slimy. The snout was becoming more distorted. Has she always looked like this?
“I am talking here!” Armeyas and Renna both snapped their attention to Amaya. “You look strange too!” Armeyas said to Amaya. “No listen! I really hear something! And you are acting weird!” Amaya slammed her foot into Armeya's leg. “Ow, What was tha…”

Her words cut off as the air distorted around the trio. A loud wailing sound assaulted their ears, causing them all to keel over. The wailing continued into their ears as they all let out hoarse screams. When the wailing finally started to die down, and Armeyas’ ears had finally stopped ringing, her eyes shot open. She was sprawled out at the entrance to a dark cave. Her sisters were lying next to her as they began to stir.
“Amaya! Renna!” Armeyas jumped to her feet to check on her sisters. ““Mey-Mey, we are fine!”” Even though they said that Armeyas embraced them both. “I knew this was a bad idea! Let’s go home…”
She looked back towards the mouth of the cave they were flung into, but the outside blizzard was raging incessantly. There is also whatever happened before.
“Say… Mey-Mey, where are we?” The cave they were transported to sloped down into darkness. “Wait!” Amaya put an uneasy step forward onto the ice. “AHHHHhhhhh!”
“Amaya!” “May-May!” Just like that Amaya had slid into the darkness. “Mey-Mey! We have to go after her!” Why couldn’t they just listen!?...
“Damnit!” What should I do? I dragged them into all of this, didn’t I? I am such an idiot! Armeyas looked to Renna. “ooooOOOOIIIII!”
“It’s May-May!”
“Wait!”
Renna didn’t wait as she leapt down the slope. “WHHHHEeeeeee!”
“Whatever!” Armeyas took a running start and leapt down as well. She slid all the way to the bottom until the cave leveled out as she nearly crashed into her sisters. “Is that you Mey-Mey?”
“Yea, I am here… gimme a sec…” She reached towards her back where the bag was, but it was gone. What happened to my bag!? She intended to grab tools to start a fire to light up the place, but alas the bag was gone.
“My bag is gone…” Both of her sisters reached out and grabbed her arms. “It’s okay Mey-Mey. We can find our way out! Besides, it is not as cold here!”
“You are right… Let’s move forwards… We will get out of here.” They continued walking forwards. “Say is it just me or has the cave gotten smaller?” Renna is right, it is feeling more ti-not again!
Again they screamed as the floor beneath them gave way. Armeyas swallowed a mouth full of water before she knew it. She was choking and gasping for air by the time she surfaced. Cold! Cold! Cold! The water was freezing her body rapidly as she struggled to reach the dry ground, but eventually she found it. Her sisters were already flopped over on the ground gasping for breath and shivering. The cave around them was bright and twinkling, but the only thing Armeyas could focus on was her sisters.
“A-a-a-are y-you b-both al-alright!?”
“Y-y-y-y-y-y-y-you sh-sh-should s-speak f-f-for y-y-yourself”
They didn’t want to become frozen popsicles so after a while of deliberation and trying to dry themselves they continued on only to meet a room of frozen creatures. When they entered the room a mass of ice behind them slammed shut closing off any escape. Then the room started to glow with a white haze, before the temperatures started to plummet even further. They tried and tried to find a way out, but eventually they huddled in a corner together. “S-s-say Mm-ey-, a-are w-we g-going t-to d-die?”
Armeyas shook her head as her teeth clattered together. I will never let that happen… Even as she thought that she didn’t answer her sister. A single tear dropped from her eye.
