Misty felt that she might have made a misjudgment about the people and the law and order of Hell’s Kitchen.
Taking a look at the attitudes of Michael and Scott toward Alvin among their colleagues, including the attitude of New York’s top police officer, George Stacy. It went without saying that Alvin was not a very bad person, at least not the enemy of the police.
Misty nodded stiffly and said coldly, “You will see!” After speaking, she turned and walked out.
“Hey, Officer, you haven’t told me where your hand was made?” Alvin shouted out in the bar. “I really need to know.”
Misty, who had a blunt attitude, couldn’t hold back a little at this moment, and threw a word in embarrassment, “Stark Industries’ laboratory.” She hurriedly passed by and left.
Michael looked at Alvin apologetically and said, “Sorry, Alvin, I didn’t expect her to be so impulsive.”
Alvin waved his hand and said, “It’s nothing, Jessica still owes you a favor! I’m afraid you will not have a good time in the next few days!”
Michael looked at Jessica, who pretended to be cleaning the table, smiled wryly and rubbed his ribs, which would hurt on rainy days, and said, “It’s not her fault, I’ve forgiven her long ago. I have to go back. Well, to prevent our new chief from making a fuss. The rest of the people here aren’t as talkative as you are.”
Alvin looked at Michael and said seriously: “To be honest, Michael, you are a good person. But I think you guys should change your style. I have a hunch that your new director is a tough guy.”
Michael smiled wryly and said, “I wish! It’s hard work to be police here!” After that, he went out with Scott and chased after Misty.
Unexpectedly, Director George did not leave but continued to sit at the edge of the bar, thinking about something.
Alvin ignored him, greeted Foggy and Matt, and said, “Guys, you came at a good time. I made sweet and sour pork ribs and beef stew with tomatoes today. If you don’t mind, I can warm it up for you.”
“Of course, Alvin, my good friend, I knew you wouldn’t leave me hungry.” Foggy exclaimed happily.
Alvin heated up the rest of the meal he made at noon, filled it into a rice bowl, and handed it to Foggy and Matt. Seeing the two of them eating deliciously, he smiled and said, “Fellows, you are lawyers! There are few that are miserable as you two. Why don’t you go to other districts and find some commissions? You can’t support yourself by accepting commissions here!”
Foggy chewed the rice indifferently and said, “You don’t know, Alvin, what we’re doing now is what the gangsters used to do. We’re collecting wages for construction workers, filing sexual harassment lawsuits for female employees, and elderly not getting pensions and suing the insurance companies.” He touched his mouth and complained: “You know what? These companies and employers are not afraid of us at all, they are afraid of the gangsters. They can deal with us, as long as they pay to hire a group of lawyers, they can make us have a headache. But in the face of gangsters, they will pay politely, and even the victims can get some compensation. Last week, I took your school driver Swag, dressed as a gangster, to get the salary of old Harry. It’s easier than filing a lawsuit.”
Alvin admired Foggy’s negotiating skills and said with a smile: “I meant that you could take on some money-making commissions.”
Foggy waved his hand and said, “We really don’t have time. Our cases have been scheduled for up to two months now. Although they don’t make any money.” After speaking, he glanced at Matt resentfully, “The one that should have made the most money is the case from the day before yesterday, to get the compensation from S.H.I.E.L.D., but you are not willing to sue them.”
Matt turned to Foggy and said, “What we’re doing now is getting the residents of Hell’s Kitchen to start believing in the law instead of gangs and pistols to solve problems so that they can find law-abiding jobs elsewhere.”
“Yes, great saint, Mr. Matt Murdoch, we already owe a month’s rent. And you just gave a hot girl a free consultation. Dude, if it weren’t for Alvin, we would have gone broke last month. As a lawyer, it would be a huge disgrace to my career.” Foggy complained to Matt.
Alvin had some sympathy for Foggy. With a colleague like Matt, it was really difficult to make money. Alvin also knew Matt’s temperament, this guy was a real good guy. But the world was like this. Good people often lived difficult lives, while bad people lived extravagant lives.
Thinking of this, Kingpin, that bastard, looked particularly loathsome. Why does the dignified Daredevil have to live like he had to rely on welfare, and you a gang boss, could drink wine every day, and go out singing every night?
The key point was that Matt’s welfare was still provided by Alvin, which was too much, and he had to find Kingpin and make this bastard bleed. The kindergarten was about to open, and there were still a few school buses missing.
Alvin was distracted, and Frank came back in a dusty, gray overall covered with white paint. He walked quickly to the bar and said to Jessica, “Hey, Jessie, give me a beer.” Then, he looked at George, who was sitting in silence at the bar, this man’s temperament made him dislike him very much.
Frank’s aura was very strong. When he sat in front of the bar, everyone gave way to both sides and left him at a distance.
Jessica filled a glass of beer in disgust and handed it to Frank from a distance as if he had the plague on him. Foggy and Matt silently moved to the dining table far away from him to continue eating. Foggy, who had a bad mouth, wanted to complain, but after comparing their bodies and temperaments, he closed his mouth decisively.
Alvin knocked on the bar and said in disgust, “Dude, have you fallen into the cesspool? If you stay here for a while, there will be no living people in my restaurant anymore.”
Frank took a gulp of his beer and said proudly: “I took care of the house next door, I painted it myself, and I repaired the damn sewer pipe. It’s just a broken house, and the fat pig-like landlord still wants to charge $5,000 a year.”
Alvin looked at Frank like a fool, and said, “Did you pay? If you didn’t, I’ll ask old Kent to talk to him, and it will definitely be a lot cheaper.”
Frank said proudly: “I paid $20,000, it’s a good deal.”
In Alvin’s eyes, Frank was downgraded from an idiot to mentally retarded. This is a group of people who need to be cared for, so he said softly: “I can introduce you to a lawyer, and he should be able to ask for some money back for you. The lawyer’s fee can still be at a good discount.”
Frank looked at Alvin with contempt and said, “I’m not a fool. It’s a good deal to buy the house next door for 20,000 dollars.”
Alvin looked at Frank in disbelief. No matter how he looked at him, he was not a person, who would bargain. No matter how bad the house was, it still wouldn’t be less than $80,000. Although the law and order here were not good, it was still in New York, wasn’t it? He carefully asked: “Is the landlord still alive?”
Frank glanced at George, the only one who stayed by the bar, and said, “I drove away the gangster who made trouble in his supermarket and made his supermarket sell for a good price. He gave me a great deal on the house. Haha!”
Alvin was even more worried now. This guy wouldn’t be soft on the gang and asked, “What about the gang? Don’t tell me that after you hugged them, they simply left.”
Frank drank the rest of the beer proudly and said, “I let them beat it. If there was a problem, they could come to Alvin from the Peace Restaurant.” After speaking, he ignored Alvin’s face that seemed like he had eaten a turd, and hummed a little tune, and went out to his own house. He also found that his body did not smell very good.
