Heading to his old cabin in the countryside with Leo, Theseus prepared to free Lord Virgo. After a year of hard work, Lord Virgo’s Shade Core was finally stabilized. It was close to Theseus’s fifth year in Hell, and after the Achilles Battle, Theseus spent all his time feverously working to stabilize the mega territory.
This short excursion to their old cabin was meant to be a serious endeavor to deal with Lord Virgo, but Leo and Theseus were actually treating it more like a vacation.
“How long has it been since we had time to relax?” Theseus sprawled out on his old cot, and Leo purred on his old bed.
“This is the life. Maybe you were right; the slow life is peaceful.” Leo admitted.
“Hey! We went through Hell, literally, to create Oceanus with Elder Gerald and Elder Aries. Now, you regret it?” Theseus yelled out but didn’t move an inch from the bed.
“Yeah right! It was worth it! I was just saying…” Leo protested, regretting his offhanded comment.
Theseus sighed.
“Alright, we’ve been here a few days, it’s time we finally let the Suzerain Lord out.”
“Please, just a few more days.” Leo didn’t want to deal with another delusional Suzerain Lord. Sleeping was more fun.
“You can rest here if you want, but it’ll be a fun occurrence, I assure you.” Theseus tempted.
“Fine.” Leo grumbled, stretching his long, lean body. His right eye looked at Theseus wearily. He needed this break just as much as Theseus did. They were working themselves to death. Maybe employing this new Suzerain Lord could alleviate their workload a little bit.
Walking a ways from the cabin, Theseus prepared a ritual to loosen the prison’s hold on Lord Virgo. The Shade Core glowed white and red, and Lord Virgo was unleashed.
Standing menacingly against Theseus and Leo, Lord Virgo spoke first.
“First of all, where is bastard that put me in here and took my territory?
Second of all, who is the fucked-up mastermind behind all of this, who trapped me in that cursed place for years!
Third of all, bring me to the one who fixed my Shade Core.”
Lord Virgo proclaimed with tears coming down his face.

Inside the Shade Core, years ago.
“What the fuck! Where in the world am I?” Lord Virgo looked around the Phaunus Forest angrily. One moment, he was fighting his ex-Captain Aries, but now, he had been teleported to the middle of the Phaunus Forest.
Rustling around him, ambient Shade Spirits from his core angrily attacked.
“Skill: Holy Light.” Lord Virgo casually blasted the assailants into oblivion.
As Lord Virgo slayed the weak mortal spirits, he felt a pain in his body.
“Impossible. Killing them damaged my Shade Core.” Lord Virgo muttered.
“I see. I’ve been trapped in some sort of illusion.” Lord Virgo thought.
“Fuck you Aries!” Lord Virgo screamed. After all he had done for that Shade, he still betrayed him!
“No, no. Aries isn’t smart enough to create an illusion like this.” Lord Virgo looked around. A complex skill of this magnitude could’ve never been created by Aries.
“It was that tamer.” Lord Virgo thought and glared angrily.
“The skill won’t last forever; I just have to hide from these pathetic spirits.” Lord Virgo deduced. He may have been driven mad by his broken Shade Core, but he was still as sharp as ever. An Authority Skill like this one still had to have its limitations.
One year later.
“I can’t keep this up any longer.” Lord Virgo thought. For over a year, he dispatched Shade Spirits and was constantly on the run.
Phaunus Forest was the place he woke up in after his death. After living a former life as a prince, Lord Virgo knew how to rise through the ranks, but he had to find civilization. Growing crazier, Lord Virgo started reliving his first moments in Hell.
From S Rank Sages going all the way down to F Rank Mortals, Lord Virgo desperately sought to escape the Sprits in the forest, just as Virgo had done when he first arrived in Hell. Jumping out from the trees, a savage spirit beast attacked the young Virgo.
“Get away from him!” A voice boomed. Soldiers on patrol fought the beast off of the young Virgo, saving his life. Reliving his past, Virgo was just like he was when he was younger.
“Thank you,” the young Virgo devoted his life and joined these soldiers, who served an old Suzerain Lord, Lord Antaeus. Father of Lord Darkin, Lord Antaeus raised Darkin to rule. Antaeus forced the young Darkin into intense training in order to make a name for himself.
When Darkin subjugated his own territory, he left the aging Antaeus alone, forming a loose, unsaid alliance. Virgo looked at the ruling of Lord Antaeus and despised it. The Suzerains were too cruel.
“Although you all saved my life, why do you still act so unjustly?” Virgo asked his comrades.
“The Suzerain Lords rule over the Oceanic Realm. Soldiers like us can’t change anything. With your potential, you could even be a Captain once day, Virgo. Take advantage of this opportunity. You can have any woman you want, and you’ll be wealthy!” The soldiers all respected the once weak Virgo. In just a year, Virgo ascended to the top of their squadron because of his relearnt skills from his real life.
“If I become a Captain, I vow to change this broken system!” Virgo declared.
“Sure you will!”
“Good one Virg.” The soldiers joked, but Virgo wasn’t joking.
Within five years, Virgo regained his past aura realm, becoming a Captain under Lord Antaeus.

“Lord Antaeus, do you have a minute?” Lord Virgo was a new Captain, and at this point, Lord Antaeus was bedridden, unable to lead effectively.
“Come in,” the old Lord beckoned.
“Lord Antaeus, I know the Suzerain Treaty is important to the stability for the Oceanic Realm, but the depravity, the evil it brings, is too much. Is there really no way to bring justice?”
“Justice, huh?” Antaeus laughed.
“I once was like you; young and idealistic, but there will come a day when you understand. The Moirai Mountains, the Desolate, the other Lords, they’re all too powerful. There is no escape from the Oceanic Realm. In my lifetime, I’ve seen the seven territories rise and fall, and I even saw a King unite the seven territories in my youth. But it’s all the same.” Antaeus sighed.
As a D Rank Suzerain Lord, Lord Antaeus was at the peak of the current Suzerain Lords, even in his old age. At his peak he was the C Rank and a legendary dictator. Virgo respected the old Lord, even though he despised his tactics, so he listened silently.
“The Oceanic Realm will continue to expand and condense its power, but the Suzerain Treaty will stand the test of time. Kings will grow too bold, challenging the Desolate or the Moirai, and will fall. Those who survive will reinstate the Suzerain Treaty. Generations pass, but the first floor will keep us here, stuck in a cycle of sin.” Lord Antaeus’s eyes had a deep and defeated sadness.
“I raised my son to rule and take the Oceanic Realm for his own, but he too was seduced by sin. I couldn’t overtake fate, and neither will he. Can you?” Lord Antaeus looked sadly at Virgo, the spry, young Captain.
“Sir, I can unite the Oceanic Realm. I will save the enslaved and free us from sin.” Virgo boldly declared at Antaeus’s bedside.
“For the sake of the younger generation, I will choose to believe you. Listen, I will teach you the Shade Ritual technique, and you will take my power. As the next Suzerain Lord, I beg you to stop my son from following the same pattern of sin.” Lord Antaeus urged Virgo. He didn’t really believe in Virgo, but his time had passed. Perhaps he was wrong, and this young man could save this world from its sins.
“Thank you Lord Antaeus, I won’t let you down.” Virgo promised.
Leaving the room, Virgo’s eyes were now red, and his aura realm transcended the Sage Realm.
“Lord Antaeus has died of old age and bestowed his power to me. Long live Lord Virgo!” He declared. Despite his new power, his Shade Core didn’t stabilize, and his ideals were lost in the day-to-day operations. He couldn’t challenge the Suzerain Treaty alone but had to live in sin to grow stronger. Seeped in sin, Lord Virgo went mad.
Now alone in the Phaunus Forest, Virgo became lucid after years of violence.
“What, happened?” Lord Virgo looked around the forest, awake for the first time in decades.
As everything hit him all at once, he understood Theseus had somehow stabilized his Shade Core.
“Maybe this time, someone will fulfill your last wish…” Lord Virgo thought as tears poured down his face as he thought of Lord Antaeus. Theseus could stop Lord Darkin.

“I am Head Elder Theseus of the Oceanus Territory. I apologize for trapping you for so long, former Lord Virgo.” Theseus cordially bowed to the awakened Virgo.
“You must be the one who trapped me for years, subjecting me to the torment of my Shade Core?” Lord Virgo asked with a scowl.
“That would be correct…” Theseus didn’t lie.
“My sins finally caught up with me… I apologize for my prior actions, but no apologizes could make up for the lives I’ve ruined.” Lord Virgo sighed.
“So, you understand your sins?” Theseus inquired. If his analysis of Lord Virgo was right, he was finally aware of this actions now that his core was stable.
“Yes.” Lord Virgo said solemnly.
“Good. Then this will be a lot easier. Lord Virgo, besides the imprisonment, I’m anointing you as the Elder of the Virgo Territory. Make up for your sins by working for the mega territory, Oceanus. Together, we will bring an end to the Suzerain Treaty and usher in an era of peace for the Oceanic Realm.”
“That sounds too good to be true. What of Lord Darkin?” Elder Virgo asked coldly.
“Leave Darkin to me. As we grow stronger, we can fend him off. When he falls, the Oceanic Realm will fall under Oceanus, and we can end the tyranny of the Suzerains once and for all.” Theseus arrogantly proclaimed.
“How many territories are under your Oceanus banner?” Elder Virgo wondered out loud.
“Four.
The Virgo Territory, overseen by me,
The Jezebel Territory, overseen by Jezebel,
The Achilles Territory, now overseen by Elder Aries, and
The Capricorn Territory, overseen by Capricorn.”
“You roped in the two women and slayed Achilles?” Virgo was shocked. Jezebel and Achilles were rough neighbors, and Lord Capricorn was a sly player as well.
“Yes, there was a large battle a few months ago. We also have a temporary non-aggression agreement with Lord Scorpius.” Theseus explained.
“What? That battle thirsty man, in a non-aggression agreement?” Elder Virgo gasped.
“You’ll learn all about it soon enough, but I’m reinstating you over your old territory while I prepare for Lord Darkin’s attack.” Theseus lied. He would take a bit of a vacation as well…
“Great Theseus, I will follow you. You’ve done what I couldn’t.” Virgo got on one knee to swear his loyalty.
“Stand up, Elder. Here in Oceanus, we are all equals, valuable because of our personhood. Don’t bow to me like I’m a Suzerain Lord; I am just the interim leader and head elder for now.” Theseus helped Virgo up onto his feet.
Elder Virgo cried upon hearing this. The era of the Suzerains was over.
