The humid summer air clinging to his skin as he walked home through the city reminded Thomas of its presence as he walked through bustling street as he headed home. The record breaking heat from the dry season as well as the overbearing sun hanging over his head helped to punctuate how hot he felt.

Stopping a moment to look for any cars coming from either end of the street caused his sweat drenched clothes to cling to him. It definitely wasn't a good idea to wear the hoodie but he had forgotten to dry his clothes last night and the thought of wearing the sweat soiled clothes was unbearable.

The sweat stinging his eye and his hot breath rolling against his skin enticed him to hurry along as if the day would get hotter. Looking back to the other side of the street and seeing nothing approaching he started his walk across the hot asphalt.

Each step on the street feeling heavier and heavier as if it were a monumental effort he made his way to the center of the street, the line dictating one side from the other almost waving in front of him like it was being shaken. As he looked at it while walking he felt as his shoes were melting to the street, the patched tar gripping his soles and rooting him in place.

Taking a moment to collect himself, he felt as if his brain was trying to escape, the pounding feeling only mounting as he tried sheltering further into the hood of his jacket. It was almost as if he could hear his own heart beat in his ears as he stood there, the sound a cacophony of noises. It sounded as if someone were shouting at him.

Realizing someone was actually shouting at him, he looked to where the source of the noise was coming from down the street. Seeing an old man yelling something Thomas was about to ask what he wanted before he lost his senses.

Feeling as if he became a puppet with its strings clipped he finally regained some form of consciousness prior to his vision going white and then subsequently black where all of his senses disappeared entirely.
