“The beast training camp led by Shi Shugang is taming these creatures, and the objective is to choose and cultivate the type that’s suitable for artificial propagation in our settlement. Although most of the creatures are herbivores, many of them are Extraordinary animals, which make them more dangerous than a lot of carnivores!”
“That’s comparing Extraordinary herbivores with Ordinary carnivores, right? In terms of evolution, it’s very unlikely that herbivores are more powerful than carnivores, because they’re generally too big and clumsy…”
In the latest batch of players, the 5,000 players consisted of half elites and half commoners.
Some of the elite members couldn’t wait to show off their abilities the moment they arrived.
It was like those people who tried to join the student union the day they started college and were running through the dorms before everybody knew everybody.
“Awoo!”
However, before they could finish…
One of the creatures that were being chased was a giant dark gray wolf double the size of a normal one, and it howled toward the sky.
After that, it charged at a black ox that had been singled out.
Moooo…
Seeing the carnivore pouncing at it, the black ox wasn’t intimidated. Instead, it mooed as well.
Its muscles bulged, and it grew like an inflating balloon. Its hooves had a blue metallic sheen on them, and with one stomp, the stone on the ground shattered.
Its breath blew away grass and dirt, creating deep ditches in the ground. A rabbit that was eating grass nearby was pushed away by the force.
It then made an angry squeak.
The rabbit’s eyes lit up with a red glow.
Immediately after that, it jumped up, aiming at the blue ox’s neck. One bite and the inflated blue ox had a hole in its throat. The rabbit had torn its food pipe and air pipe together.
Splash!
In the live stream image.
The rabbit with glowing red eyes was sucking the blood out of the blue ox, and its white fur was tainted red by the hot blood. It was a very disturbing scene.
On a second look, it hadn’t been eating grass but the intestine of some other creature!
“Awoo?”
The giant gray wolf that had planned to hunt the blue ox paused and looked as astonished as a human being.
“That’s so scary!”
“So much blood!”
“What kind of a rabbit is that? Why can it eat an ox?”
“Has it turned into a monster?”
The blue ox was twitching on the ground from losing too much blood. Seeing this, many people that had been thinking about killing some monsters paled.
Although they never saw the blue ox fight, they could tell how powerful it was. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been able to open up the ground by merely breathing.
But that blue ox had just been killed by a tiny rabbit.
“What’s going on? Where did that rabbit come from?”
Next to Ji Ye, a middle-aged man who wore a neat dark suit and headphones was sweating a little.
From his wireless headphones, he could hear the sounds of wolves and dogs that he couldn’t understand.
“Well, Master Ji…”
The middle-aged man turned to Ji Ye, looking uneasy.
The man was Chen Yi, a director.
He had made several famous movies and was even in charge of directing some national-level events. He was somewhat renowned internationally as well.
Strictly speaking, he wasn’t as qualified as the previous international director that Dragon City had interviewed.

But he was invited to join Dragon City.
He had come to the Dragon City in advance to prepare this show for the arrival of the new players, but accidents happened as soon as the event started.
The giant wolf was supposed to have a fierce battle with the Extraordinary Level-3 blue ox.
The frightening disruptive power should impress the new players.
Who would have thought that a harmless rabbit would jump out and kill the blue ox? That had completely sabotaged the plot.
Even the director himself didn’t know what to do.
“Don’t worry about it. Jin, you can have the rabbit. Kill it.
“Commander Huangpu, please go and see if the blue ox can be saved.”
Ji Ye didn’t blame Chen Yi. Instead, he talked into his walkie-talkie.
Because the players had gone offline, to make up for the missing personnel, Dragon City ran a lot of sacrificial rituals in the past few days and summoned a lot of heroes.
After all, the settlement gained dozens of Commander-level Souls of Civilization after finishing A Hundred Vying Barges.
Because they could add their requirements during the summoning, most of the heroes summoned had something that they were good at.
For instance, the Commander Huangpu Ji Ye had just mentioned.
He was Huangpu Duan, the Purple Bearded Count and the Beast Star.
He got that nickname because of his purple eyes and yellow beard.
He was a veterinarian and got along well with Zhang Qing. After Liangshan’s punitive expedition on the Liao Kingdom, Emperor Huizong of Song kept him behind as the Royal Horse Commissioner.
Apart from treating beasts, Huangpu Duan was an expert in identifying and training warhorses. After his selection, in the past few days, over ten Ordinary warhorses in Dragon City had risen to the Extraordinary level.
“Yes. Master Ji, let’s show them the infantry and the firearm battalion!”
Chen Yi wiped away his sweat and nodded.
After Ji Ye made it to the Transcendent level, Chen Yi felt an invisible pressure when he was around the man.
“Dragon City has an infantry about the same size as its cavalry, both with about 1,500 soldiers. Right now, they’re divided into battalions such as Tiger Roar, Commanding Mountain, Beast Blood, etc… The first two are led by Chief Wu Song and Chief Lu Zhishen respectively.
“Other than that, we also have the firearm division. Right now, we have the sniper battalion, the Divine Arm battalion, and the heavy cannon battalion, and their heads are Li Qing, Zhang Qing, and Ling Zhen, respectively.”
The image changed, and Su Nongying started introducing the infantry and firearm personnel around the altar.
“Look! Wu Song and Master Lu!”
“Gosh, that’s Lu Zhishen! He’s so tall! I bet he’s as tall as three meters!”
“Where’s Wu Song? I don’t see him!”
Wu Song and Lu Zhishen are doubtlessly as popular as Lin Chong.
Many people looked around for the two heroes.
“If we combine modern firearms with the physical strength of these ancient men, they can all fight like special force soldiers.”
“They’re more than that! Special force soldiers on Earth are around Extraordinary Level-5, but here in Dragon City, that’s the level of the new soldiers.”
“They have an exoskeleton, Barrett sniper rifles, and Divine Eagle rocket projectors!”
Some of the players had been in the military before. Their eyes lit up when they saw the altered weapons.
“Chief Li Qing?”
“I heard that chiefs were more senior than commanders. So, it’s true that players can rise high in Dragon City.”
Some other people noticed that Su Nongying had addressed Li Qing as “Chief”.
In fact, after the fourth batch, the population of Dragon City would exceed 10,000.
With that, they needed to start standardizing things.
For instance, they needed to arrange the combative and non-combative personnel into different units.
Because there were only 10,000 in total, to avoid excessive management, the non-combative personnel were essentially divided into ministries and divisions.
Now that there were over 100 heroes in the settlement, they needed some kind of rankings among them as well. “Chief” was the term used for those who had become Semi-commanders.
