Chapter 8: 8: New Ability

I was walking around the city, looking for newly awakened kids. Who knows, maybe I could even find somebody suited for the Union.

This would be way easier if I have a Levitating Force Control...

Sigh...

I have been doing this ever since I started elementary school. Yes, it's a bit unsafe, but I'm confident enough to deal with normal criminals. Besides, it's not like my grandfather didn't order someone to follow me... Sigh.

After half an hour, I was resting on a bench I found.

Although I was resting, I was still looking around for someone who was potentially awakened.

After I recovered my stamina, I started walking around again. That's when I saw a kid rummaging some trash bags.

I was just going to ignore him, but he started talking to the rat on his shoulder.

"Yeah, I know. But hey, at least I have you, right?" he said scratching the rat's neck.

This caught my attention. This boy could just be insane but, there's no harm in testing...

I activate my Pathokinesis and approach the boy with some coins.

"Hi! What are you doing?" I ask innocently.

"H-Hello...? Uhm, I'm looking for food," he replied. I then sense his emotions with my Pathokinesis. He's feeling, nervous, and afraid.

I then offer my hand to him.

"My name's... Lee! What's yours?"

He starts to grab my hand and say, "Y-Yongsun..."

Once he touches my hand, I then manipulate his emotions to trust me. At the same time, I insert some of my energy into him.

Yes, I know that manipulating someone, especially a kid, is bad, but I. Don't. F*cking. Care. I'm a selfish man, I mean kid, and my survival is on the damn line here.

Anyway...

Now his emotions are, trusting and shocked.

"Can you talk with that rat?" I ask, and he smiles.

"Yes!" he replies enthusiastically.

"Can you show me?" I question.

"Sure!" he replied and starts to grab the rat.

Once he speaks to it, I could feel my energy inside him react to something.

That means one thing... He's a f*cking Awakened!!!

...

After a few minutes of talking to him, I grab his shoulder and ask,

"Do you have a house? Where are your parents?"

"Huh? Oh, well, my mother dropped me here a long time ago... She said that she'll come back later. My father, well, umma told me that he went somewhere very far away!" he replied innocently.

Damn. This kid's got a rough life...

"Okay... Well, follow me! I'll bring you someplace where there's food!" I tell him.

"Also, can you talk to the rat again? It sounds so cool!"

As he was talking to the rat, I observe the way his energy was moving. From his head to his neck and then to his mouth, and lastly, on his ears...

It moves quickly, but I could keep up with it...

I start dragging him to our mansion and I could see my father going in.

"Appa! Wait!" I call out.

"Hm?"

"Oh! Shinji! Wait, who's your friend here?" he asks, inspecting the boy.

"He's Yongsun and... uh, Yongsun, can you wait for me here?" I ask the boy and he nods.

I then grab my father's hand and drag him inside the house.

"I think he's awakened, Appa. He can talk to his rat..." I tell him and he raises his eyebrows.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah... Can't you take him to get checked up on? His parents left him on the streets..." I add.

"Really? How could they..." he tells me as his face turns ugly, but he stops and adds, "And wait. What were you doing outside, alone?"

"What? I was just going to buy some popsicles and then I saw the kid." I answer, looking away.

"Sigh. Okay, I'll accept your excuse... But next time, you should always have someone with you. If you want to go out, tell Seongha to go with you."

"Fine..." I reply, crossing my arms.

...

A few days later...

"Young Sir, Master told me to tell you, you were right. The boy was Awakened. He's a part of another group now, called MIR. They specialize in Animal Communication. Do you want to visit him?" Seongha tells me.

"Nah. It's okay. At least we helped him..."

...

After eating dinner, Subin and I go to our room. I wait until she falls asleep, and then sit with my legs crossed.

Sigh. I can't wait for us to have separate rooms. I mean, sleeping beside my twin is alright, but I don't have my privacy...

Moving on, I imitate the way Yongsun's energy moved. I start moving my energy up to my brain, and then to my neck, then to my mouth, and finally to my ears.

...

I do this for an hour before deciding to go to sleep...

Phew... Technically, I'm already quite overpowered by kids my age, but comparing myself to the other monsters, mainly Kayden and the Top Rankers, I'm just an ant. Dammit. I really can't wait to get to Highschool...

Alright, time to get some sleep.
