Elijah had an important mission- he had trained for five weeks, tirelessly practicing for this since he had left Melire with Ferwen- he must use his newfound skill and show. off!
"Excuse me, I'm going to show off."
And with these words, he vaulted onto the roof of the nearest house, and rolled down to the other side, leaving Ferwen behind. Moving through the streets, in seven minutes he found the noble district, walls and gates prevalent throughout the architecture, and guards sitting about. Now, Elijah debated, which one should I enter?
Then his gaze was caught by a man wearing a helmet, half-plated armor, greaves and vambraces, and a cloak, underneath which was a large backpack, all in black. He walked normally, and the guards patrolling cast glanced repeatedly at him, until he walked past six pairs of gates that opened into mansions on each side, where he abruptly stopped, sharply turning his gaze to a dark ebony gate, staring at it intensely. Changing his destination seemingly on a whim, he walked to the gate and the guards promptly stepped aside, allowing him to enter.
It must have been a sign, Elijah thought.
Plan infiltration- commence! Again!
He climbed the nearest wall, and walked along it. At the third mansion he passed halfway to his destination, he accidentally alerted a small dog, causing him to jump in shock and cover his ears from the loud noise. As he looked at the dog, a seething irritation kindled in him.
Elijah had always hated dogs. He was not afraid of them, not in the slightest, but his hatred for them was profound. It was true when he was human, and even more so since becoming a tabaxi.
So he jumped from the gate he stood on, and landed in a roll that ended in him on one knee infront of the dog, still barking at him. Then he smacked it so hard it spun in a circle, and grabbing it by its ribcage with both hands, he whispered to it "piss off, b****" and threw it. It yelped and landed on its feet as Elijah intended, as he would not go so far as to injure someone else's pet (permanently at least). Then he heard a woman in her teens call out "Bandy, where are you?"
That was his cue to leave. He ran to the wall he was heading to originally and jumped, then when his feet landed he ran up it for a bit before jumping to the wall adjacent to it, spinning so his back was facing the direction he wanted to go in, and from that wall he leaped once more, his back parallel to the ground below as he barely made it over the barrier that separated the incoming teen and him. The walls were seven meters tall.
Elijah spun midair and landed in the neighbor's lawn, slightly less gentle as a -1 told him his health had dropped to 25/26, the pain in his arm told him that he's an idiot, and the grin on his face said that he needed to do that again. He ran to the next wall, and ran up for three meters, jumped the next meter into the adjacent wall, and with both feet firmly planted on the bulwark, jumped another meter so he could reach the top and pull himself up, but he overshot the wall, and with three flips and a roll on the ground, stopped his momentum with a superhero pose.
I need to specialize in acrobatics, cause this is amazing, Elijah thought with a gleeful smile, so wide it almost reached his ears.
Trying again and for the final time, he ran to the next wall, then up it, and jumped straight up, his hands barely reaching the ledge as he pulled himself up and stood upon the rampart, looking at the veritable stone fort before him before he ran along the top of the wall sneakily, reaching a place where the bulwark was near the wall of the mansion. He then ran up the wall to reach the window sill, from where he saw a dining area, with a long table set and the man in black he spotted before sitting with his helmet missing. There were many sleazy looking nobles seated. Taking out a trusty lockpick, he opened the window with incredible ease and snuck on to the wooden beams that supported the upper floors. The dining hall was huge, the ceiling being near ten meters from the floor. Calculating for a bit, he realized there was an empty seat near a wall. When he saw that everyone was distracted by the black armored man that was speaking some empty pleasantries, Elijah dropped from the beam, catching it and swinging in a moment into the wall, then dropping again headfirst onto the floor with his arms outstretched. Reaching the floor, like a spring he pushed off it and into the vacant chair, right infront of the man in black. Who was staring right at him with wide eyes and raised eyebrows.
Elijah wiggled his own eyebrows at him, mouthing silently- awesome, right?
"David, what seems to be the problem?"

One of the nobles asked, seeing as David had stopped his senseless flattering. Then he followed his gaze and saw a dishevelled man with cat ears and a tail, who looked extremely ragged in his oversized pants.
"Who are you?"
"What, you don't remember me?" Elijah asked. "We had met just previously, and I had introduced myself as Elijah of Petanta. Please recall, as I had come myself as an emissary of Pont of Moira. I had only entered town but mere moments ago with his friend Ferwen the investigator."
"O-oh yes, of course," he said, not really remembering if he'd met such a figure but not willing to offend him in case it was the truth. "But," he asked, "may I inquire as to why you where such... Unique attire to such a prestigious event such as this?" He tried to root Elijah by pointing out his obvious flaw of an inappropriate dress.
"Oh, please pardon my attire, but as I had mentioned in our previous engagement, my carriage had been staked by highwaymen on my journey, and my life had only been kept by luck as Ferwen had chanced by. If not for him I fear... But I had been saved and he temporarily gave me from his 'drobe. I had not had a chance to stop by a tailor before the agreed time had dawned. As you said, this is a prestigious affair, and to purchase new clothes but miss the event would hardly be logical. I had asked your Pardons previously and you had so graciously accepted my apologies. For that, I thank you" Elijah finished with a kind smile.
"Oh of course, now I recall perfectly! Indeed, indeed, I had accepted your apologies afore, so now in turn please accept mine."
"If course, it humbles me that you would so humble yourself," wish put a hidden jab that went over everyone's head except David, the man in black.
"Right, music!" The host, the one Elijah had sweettalked earlier, clapped his hands to and a band appeared and started playing.
Food was served, and brought before everyone present in turn, servants going back and forth with trays and platters filled with food Elijah had never even heard of. Elijah picked up his fork and knife.
Finally, the moment of truth.
