Two people were at the door.

"Sheridan!" Elijah called. The child looked up and stopped scrubbing.

Elijah looked at the person next to Sheridan, then at the child, that but a moment ago was cleaning ink, then back to the man who had his brother by his side, saying "your brother is a real piece of work, you know that?"

The man looked at the feet on the desk, saw the man leaning back in his chair and his brother that had been cleaning ink with... Paper? Then he noticed the documents.

Pont had trouble hiding his confusion, and Sheridan had no trouble showing it.

"What broke earlier? And why was Henry cleaning the floor?" He asked.

Elijah looked at Henry, then at the shattered window, then at the ink bottle, before remembering. "Punishment."

"What have you done with my work? And where is Sebastian?" Pont asked.

"He came by but left soon after when he saw that you already had a substitute. Namely, me"

Pont frowned, coming forward and grabbing one of the completed documents. Going over it, his frown eased and his eyes widened.

He continued examining the papers, asking Sheridan "this is the man you talked of?" He picked up the next document, examining it even more thoroughly

"Indeed. Listen, Pont, I'm sorry for any misdemeanors caused by my friend here, I'm sure it was an... Pont?"

"Hm?" Pont looked up, coming out of his daze and looking at Sheridan, "yes?"

"You seem distracted."

Pont considered for a moment. "This friend, where did you say he came from?"

"Well I met him on my way here, and he said he came from somewhere in the area, so I would assume Petanta."

"And what did you say his age was?"

"He's... I didn't ask."

"I'm sixteen," Elijah supplied helpfully, and Sheridan asked Pont "Why?"

"Would you vouch for him?" Pont continued asking Sheridan.

Sheridan was confused, but answered "yes, I would."

"Your eye?"

”Yes," Sheridan nodded

Pont was silent, considering, mulling over the thought in his mind, carefully examining it and thinking of possible problems that might arrive.

Finally, he said "I'm thinking of having him enroll in the academy."

"WHAT!? ABSOLUTELY NOT!"

Elijah covered his ringing ears from the sudden outburst.

"He's a genius with natural talent, and he needs to be nurtured"

"That place is full of sharks, they'll swallow him whole!"

Pont gazed at his brother, a trouble child that had caused him innumerable headaches, sniveling like never before at the antics of the strange being. "I don't think it is a matter of whether he can handle it, but whether they can handle him."

"So you want me to go to school?" Elijah asked.

"Yes."

"Ew no, don't wanna," Elijah played along with Sheridan, having finally come to focus, as until Sheridan nearly blew his ears of, he hadn't have been paying attention to them. instead he was playing with his status.

"You have to," Pont insisted.

"Nooooo" he sounded like a child having a tantrum.

"Then you leave me no choice-" Pont said gravely, "I'll call a trial for your transgressions against nobility."

"You can't be serious," Sheridan asked, aghast.

"I am. I will not see such talent wasted, and even you will suffer a setback if you try to save him."

"This is coercion!" Elijah objected. "And blackmail!"

"And?" Pont seemed to not care.

Elijah couldn't figure out what Pont really wanted with so little information. Not that he really cared. He asked, "at what age will I have to enroll?"

"Eighteen at least."

"So i have two years?" Elijah confirmed.

"Yes."

"Fine, I'll play along. Now," Elijah said with an uppity tone "if you'll excuse me", walking to the broken window and disappeared, shocking everyone. This was the real reason he ended the argument so easily- in contrast to almost any other time- He had an ability that he just remembered having.

Sheridan and Pont ran to the window and looked outside, to see a tall, lanky man skipping twords the training grounds, furry ears twitching and long thin tail swaying, giggling like an idiot.

Pont laughed at that.
