Chapter 89: Haitus Announcement

Hi all! Thanks for reading this far! I'm taking a break till the new year. I'm doing an edit pass during this break, so it's not technically a full break, but... eh?

And that’s a wrap on volume 2! I have been thinking about what to do next over the past few weeks. I want to go back to their first year and flesh out the romance more, but I also want to go to Vol 3 right away because I am an impulsive author-chan that is very excited for her story! I can’t decide which I want to do more, so I’m running a poll on my patreon. There’s a link to my patreon in the story description! Sorry Inkitt readers, I know the description is a mess. It looks fine everywhere else!

Additionally, I will be doing an edit pass on the existing chapters to adjust ages. Basically everything is getting a +3year bump. I also intend to adjust mana numbers, too, because let’s be real... the big numbers are kinda... too much? Maybe the years/lives count, too, but I’m not sure, we’ll see about that.

I'll leave it live until Wednesday the 21st. Here are the options. If you'd like to vote, please head over to my Patreon page, it's a public vote! No subscription necessary!

Option 1: Flesh out the romance now. I would be going back to Volume 1 and adding more content between the Battle for Alcanus and the Battle for Atlas, so anytime after January and before December. I expect to add enough to fill another volume. And ofc, there would be more than the romance. We'd have classes and whatnot, too.

Option 2: Go straight into Volume 3. The end of Volume 2 is 100% a cliffhangar. SORRY NOT SORRY. And, I'm also excited to keep going. I'm excited for either option, so... here we are with a poll. If Volume 3 wins, I'd be working on the new year one chapters over the course of Volume 3 on the side, so that would come right after Vol3 regardless.

Option 3: While doing the editing pass, split the four-person couple apart into two pairings: Kye/Alethea and Doran/Michelle. This would be quite the significant change and would come with a slew of other changes, considering the parentage of some of the kids. I'd outright postpone some of those kids' birth. This would fix some of the romance issues I have personally, and allow me to go to Vol3 sooner than if I did Option 1.
