The next day kicked off as the family made their way to the market vendor to buy groceries in preparation for Emmy's birthday. They made their way to Blanche's general goods shop while Emmy and Jemma engaged in idle conversation.

"Emmy dear would you like to invite your friend to your birthday party? we can arrange it with her parents if that's okay with you," Jemma asked as she looked at her daughter who was taking in the sights of the eastern district.

"I'll ask her if she wants to later as we made an appointment to meet the day before my birthday, I'll ask her then, If she does accept then I would appreciate you doing that for me mom," Emmy responded to her mother's question smoothly.

"Then when the situation arises consider it done," Jemma spoke confidently with a smug expression gracing her face. She looked to speak again but closed her mouth when she noticed that they had arrived.

Quickly, the Edgar couple engaged in conversation with the vendor purchasing an assortment of cooking materials which included but was not limited to cabbages and tomatoes. Emmy left her parents as she went to the stall next to the vendor where there was a man and a strange-looking table.

She went over to look at the table, curiously she went to touch it as she looked at the man. The table had a circular top with blocks in all four directions, it was supported by some strangely shaped triangles attached to a cylinder which were inscribed with unknown runes.

It was being attended to by a tall man. The man had brown eyes and hair, he was clothed in a white shirt and brown tunic, with dark-grey pants and brown leather boots.

"Hey there, kid, my name is Timaeus, are you perhaps interested in the alchemical arts," Timaeus questioned as he introduced himself.

"Alchemical arts?" Emmy bit her thumb as she stared at Timaeus confusedly, looking for answers.

"You don't know what alchemy is?" Timaeus looked shocked as he stared at Emmy incredulously but immediately a look of understanding graced his face as he considered her age, thinking like this he continued, "Well then would like to know about alchemy kid?"

"I would like to learn," Emmy nodded absent-mindedly, she could use something to grab her attention while her parents her busy.

"Hmmm, well how should I start, ah! I'll show you a demonstration first before and then explain what happened okay? Good," True to his word Timaeus immediately went to retrieve something from the rack which was behind him.

Emmy watched as he took out three blobs which she believed were slime and a bag of mora, he then placed the blobs onto the table and the mora around them in a circle. Emmy gasped in surprise when Timaeus tapped the side of the table and it glowed, the blobs levitated a few inches above the table and merged to form a bigger, condensed version of the blob.

"What you have seen here is the fusion law of alchemy, this is when lesser versions of an object are fused with mora as a medium to form a higher version of that object," Timaeus explained as Emmy listened intently, noticing her focus he continued, "Do you see? The incredible nature of alchemy!"

"Amazing! but sir can you tell me what those blobs are?" Although Emmy was fairly confident these blobs were slime she still had to make sure.

"These are slime secretions, they are obtained from hunting slimes out in the wild," Timaeus explained

"Then can you tell me why is mora used-,"

"Emmy we have to go now, say goodbye to the good sir, I would like to give my thanks to you Mr. Timaeus for accompanying my daughter," Jemma intruded as she called out to Emmy, then she went to thank Timaeus.

"All is good ma'am as I too was enjoying my time explaining my craft, goodbye little Emmy may we meet again," Timaeus said.

"Thank you for entertaining me, Mr. Timaeus, alchemy looks interesting, goodbye and have a splendid day," Emmy bowed slightly and waved as she and her parents went to Good Hunter which was on the other side of the fountain.

"Do you want to be an alchemist Emmy?" Arthur who had been silent throughout the trip asked as he took a look at the sky, it was nearly evening, he noted and returned his attention to Emmy who shook her head.

"I don't think I do, I want to be an adventurer who scales cliffs and explores ruins, if alchemy can help me with that I don't mind learning it in passing," Emmy shrugged as she responded as she truly felt that way. Whenever she thought of discovering ruins and exploring caves her heart fluttered and her breath grew labored.

Emmy also felt that it would bring her closer to her parents as they were adventurers, so by working in the same field they could spend more time together, in this way she could relate more to her parents while simultaneously chasing her passion, killing two birds with one stone. It was a flawless plan in Emmy's opinion.

Heh, she learned that from a book.

"I see, then would you like to learn the skills necessary for such a path, are you confident in enduring the pain?"

"I know I am."

"Very well, then I will speak to your mother about arranging a tutor for you after we come back from our next adventure, in the meantime, I will make a list of study material for you to go through,"

Arthur then went on to list numerous books, such as Teyvat Geography, and Teyvat Nature Guide. Emmy soaked up the information and noted down the books in her mind as she planned to visit the library later.

"I'll take note of them and study seriously, I'll be sure to do my best!"

"Hahaha! That's my girl."

"Okay, guys I think it's time to go home, so forward march!" Jemma said excitedly, finished with their shopping for today. Emmy giggled as she and her father played along with her mom's antics.

The family each grabbed a bag of groceries with the heaviest ones being carried by the adults and Emmy carrying a bag of flour. On their way home, Emmy spotted a twin-tailed blonde-haired girl in the distance. She hurriedly gave her groceries to her parents and dashed after the girl, with the sounds of her parents behind her.

"I'll be right back okay!" Emmy yelled as she ran, she wasn't certain if they heard her over the wind though.

Emmy nimbly dashed through the streets as she dodge several people and carriages in her way, she found herself at the eastern gate of the city, she looked around and spotted the blonde-haired girl squatting by the lake where she found her touching the water.

The girl wore a purple one-piece dress with black flats and had pale blonde hair. Two sections of her hair were tied into twin tails.

"Fischl, is that you?" Emmy called out as she went to look at the girl's face.

"Hmm, Emmy? Ah yes, faithful servant of the immernachtreich, it is I, Fischl Prinzessin der verurteilung, what winds have you hailed from?" Fischl looked confused for a moment but immediately leaped into action, standing up as she recited her lines and covered her left eye in a showy manner.

"I just saw you when I was passing by with my parents, so I came to say hello, Also I would like to ask if you would attend my birthday celebration."

"Why it would be my pleasure to attend your birthday celebration, to not attend would be a great misjudgment by the Prinzessin."

"That's great then, my birthday is April 6th so it should be days from now, also I forgot to ask but Fischl what is your birthday?"

"It seems that I have made a huge blunder, forgive me for I have forgotten to grant you, a high official of the royal court, the date of my birth, Therefore note that I the Prinzessin was born on May 27th."

"Noted, my lady."

They both stopped speaking as they went to sit together on the shore. The scenery was beautiful as the sun set behind the hill on the other side of the large river, it glanced over the nearby docks in a warm glow, bestowing a mellow heat. The trees rustled discreetly as a breeze blew by and the short hair of the children fluttered.

"Emmy! Emmy! Where are you, oh Emmy there you are," A frantic voice that sounded suspiciously like Jemma's came from behind the two girls, they both turn simultaneously as they watched the woman march over to them with a stern gaze.

"Emmy Edgar! young lady leaving like that is very reckless, what if you got hurt or lost, what would we do them hmmm," Jemma immediately moved to take up Emmy in a hug as she scolded her.

"I'm sorry, I just had to invite Fischl to my birthday party, I'll make sure to never do that again," Emmy said, apologizing.

"You better not, anyway we have everything we need so we should head on home," Jemma said pausing as she turned to look at Fischl, the girl in question shyly lowered her head at Jemma's heated gaze.

"You must be Emmy's friend Fischl. Thank you for being a good friend to her and you are welcome to our house anytime. I look forward to seeing you on Emmy's birthday," Jemma said as she walked toward the east gate with Emmy in tow, Emmy gave one last wave before she disappeared.

Missing the lonely gaze Fischl sent her way.

Two days passed by in a flash as the family prepared for Emmy's birthday, it was a small affair with but a few people present. The attendees were Emmy, Fischl, Jemma, and Arthur. Fischl's parents granted her approval to attend the party but were busy and unable to come themselves.

"Please take care of our little Amy," They said and departed to another location on the continent, presumably for a mission given by the adventurers guild.

Before the party began in the evening, the adults took the children out to play games in the fields, such as ball throwing, Frisby, and similar games. They even held a tournament that Emmy and Fischl won, likely by the grace of Emmy's parents as it was her birthday. Thankfully the fields of Mondstadt were devoid of hillichurls that day.

It was around that time Emmy believed she started seeing things. She saw a small box filled with letters and numbers but it vanished as quickly as it can, so she thought it was an illusion and brushed it off.

After that, they went home and each of them took a shower and dressed up nicely before setting up the room for the party. The party eventually started in the evening. The table had a variety of foods like fragrant mashed potatoes and Fullmoon eggs.

"Your cooking is simply scrumptious duchess Jemma and this berry is exquisitely done duke Arthur, truly the parents of my very own aide," Fischl, generously complemented the Edgar couple who warmed up to her during the short period. They were also able to quickly get a grasp of her speech patterns due to their daughter's translations.

"My, my what a silver tongue you have dear, truly the one is known as the Prinzessin," Jemma also played along with Fischl's roleplay which earned her a high position in her eyes.

"Now then isn't it time for the cake," Jemma spoke as she moved to get the cake. A short while after she returned and placed the cake on the now empty table and lit the candles. During that time frame, Emmy went to get dressed in her birthday dress.

At the same time Jemma lit the candles Emmy was seen being escorted down by her father, she wore a white one-piece dress with flowers embrowned on them. She also wore flats with flowers on the tips.

"Splendid, it is truly a wondrous sight and a blessing to mine eyes," Fischl complimented after turning around to look at Emmy.

"You look beautiful in that dress no matter how many times I see you in it, which was twice," Jemma said

"Nothing to be surprised about, she is after all our Emmy Edgar, she would look beautiful in anything," Arthur said, agreeing to his wife's statement.

"Now it is time, Emmy can you come to make a wish," Jemma said, gesturing to the cake. Emmy quickly went to the table to make a wish.

'I wish that my family, friends, and I live happily and that our dreams may come true' Emmy prayed hard and then blew out all the candles. She cut the cake and it was wrapped and packaged since it was getting a bit late. So they jumped straight to the gifts.

At that moment Emmy had another vision of a screen but it was more detailed this time, as she believed she could see her age and name on it. She stood still as it made her a bit dizzy and she tried to shake it off.

"Emmy are you okay?" Arthur called out in concern drawing everyone's attention to her, Emmy shook her head at them and told them she was fine. She made a quick note in her mind to check what was happening when she went to her room.

With that settled the gift wrapping was underway. Jemma and Arthur got her a bunch of adventurer books and a pass to use the adventurer's training field respectively. Fischl on the other hand got her a wooden... crow?

"It is a royal guard of the Prinzessin accept it for it is your greatest honor," That's what she said.

"Where did you buy it?" Emmy asked.

"What do you mean buy! I made i- ahem, it is one of I Fischl's royal guards and not some 'wooden crow', may it protect you in your daily life,"

"Thank you for caring about me, Amy" Emmy chuckled as she looked at Fischl's face steadily growing red at being exposed, using her real name seemed to make the process accelerate. Emmy pressed her lips to contain her smile at the sight.

This is fun.

From there the party ended as Fischl was being escorted home by Jemma and Arthur tucked Emmy into bed despite her protest of wanting to help them clean up. She was quickly dissuaded by her father and put to bed.

Emmy was dressed in her one-piece eagle-themed pajamas as she was tucked into her bed. They quickly said their respective goodnight and Arthur went out to clean the house.

Emmy thought about all that happened today and was quite satisfied, that thought also came with a revelation.

From this moment on Emmy was 7 years old.

It was an exciting thought, one which she enjoyed greatly. However, at that moment, a bright light came from the bracelet on Emmy's desk, and Emmy watched in amazement as the bracelet floated, then suddenly shot straight to her forehead.

Due to the sudden acceleration, Emmy was unable to react and was knocked unconscious, or was she?

Opening her eyes Emmy found herself in a white space devoid of anything she knew but what she did know was what was in front of her eyes right now.

After all, she had visions of it throughout the day.
