A few days passed since then and Emmy was quite busy preparing something for a certain someone. She had the help of Harlin and Sebastian at her disposal. They walked away from the general goods store and were walking toward her house when suddenly…
Lynn appeared before them.
Her bright gold hair looked quite unkept and her purple eyes told of her anxiousness. She looked at them, a nervous smile on her lips as she twiddled her thumbs.
Emmy and her group stopped and they stood in the middle of the street, staring at each other. However, it might be that Emmy's gaze was too intense or a lack of time but Lynn spoke first.
"I… our… help," Lynn looked down as she played with her fingers. Emmy tilted her head as she looked at the young girl as if asking her to continue.
Lynn didn't speak, looking at the two young boys in the corner of her eye. Emmy waved her hand and the two boys began to walk away, whispering.
"Ah, so what was that about? What is that girl going to tell the boss," Harlin said as he spoke to Sebastian.
"We'll find out soon enough, but it might have something to do with—"
Emmy and Lynn listened as the boys whispered their voices fading as they walked away from them. Emmy and Lynn looked at each other before Emmy started walking away from her, waving her hand as she called.
"Come on, I don't have all day! I'll listen to what you have to say and decide what to do next," Emmy already had an inkling of what Lynn wanted to ask her.
She didn't know why but she somewhat wanted to help Lynx, it was puzzling. Though it might be her guilt eating at her.
It didn't matter, the arrow was already released. She had time to spare.
Though she did wonder why Lynn came to her instead of somebody else like Lynx's parents or any other family member that he may have but she guessed that she would find out soon enough.
"Wait! I'm coming," said ash she shouted running to catch up to Emmy before she could get too far away from her saying, "I hope that she will help me with this otherwise I have nowhere to go and seek help," Lynn whispered to herself.
She was really on her last straws.
Lynn caught up to Emmy and they both walked in silence for the rest of the way as they headed towards the square of Mondstadt. They both didn't speak for a while until Emma suddenly had a thought and alerted Lynn.
"So Lynn, what do you want to talk to me about? Is it about Lynx?" Emmy asked as she looked at Lynn, the both of them are now walking up the steps towards the town square and she continued saying, "If you need some help I can offer it, but only if you tell me the truth."
Lynn nodded her head, "I'll tell you!" Emmy could practically feel her excitement and she conjured up some thoughts about what she was about to tell her and how she should react to it in advance.
She didn't want to be caught off guard.
After that, they both continued to walk in silence neither had a desire to continue the conversation or to start another one until they arrived at the square.
During this time Emmy continue to gaze at Lynn and gauged her reactions.
She had a particular bounce in her step and a barely restrained smile, her ahoge bounced happily. Then she thought of something and got dejected, her ahoge falling flat on her head.
This continued for several minutes.
'How peculiar,' Emmy thought. Her attention was captured by the small tuff of hair on the girl's forehead which seemed to move according to Lynn's emotional state.
Interesting.
It took them a few minutes but at last, they arrived at the square. The two girls walked toward one of the benches. One followed at a measured pace and the other practically exploded with vitality.
That energy finally seemed to run out however as they approached the benches.
They both sat down and were silent for but a moment before Lynn started to speak and tell her about what she wanted help with.
"I need some help with Lynx, I don't know what's happened to him but he hasn't come out of his room in days and I haven't seen him outside at all," Lynn clenched her dress at the knees as she asks for help nearly in tears, "Do you have any way to help me, please!"
Emmy placed her legs on the bench, rested her elbows on her knees, and placed her chin on her palms, looking at Lynn in silence. She calmed down and waited for a moment before she started to speak.
"Why should I help you then?" Emmy asked as she looked at Lynn, seeing her shocked and broken face reminded her of Lynx for a bit and she shivered.
She continued before anything else was said, "I mean I don't get why you came to me, I'm probably the one you should be blaming the most right now on aren't I?"
It threw Emmy for a loop. Wasn't she one of the main causes of such a thing? Why seek help from a person like that?
"I—" Lynn's voice sounded like it was stuck in her throat and she couldn't speak.
She lowered her head and clenched her fists against her dress once more. Then she lifted her head again with a determined expression on her face and started to say, "I just want to help Lynx, I don't care where the help comes from."

"Why do you go so far for him," Emmy asked trying to relieve herself of the confusion in her heart and to discover what she felt that day when she saw Lynx's broken face, "I mean isn't he just a bully, did he threatened you or is there something that you are not telling me?"
"Lynx isn't a bully!" Raw emotion can be heard in her voice and when she realized what she did she hurried to apologize, "I'm sorry I—"
"No matter," Emmy felt a flame burn in her chest, wanting Lynn to continue.
Lynn twiddle with her thumbs as she nervously looked around her voice quiet as she explained, "Lynx isn't a bully.... at least he wasn't always a bully."
"Oh?" The flame in her heart only grew in size at Lynn's words, this was what she had been waiting for.
She wanted to know why Lynn would go to such lengths for such a person who had revealed himself to be quite terrible thus far.
"You see, Lynx had not always been like this, there was a time when he shone brightly as he showcased to the world his talent and extraordinary aptitude," Lynn smiled as if reminiscing of good times, "Yes, once upon a time Lynx was a genius."
Lynn paused and Emmy listened attentively. Lynn took a deep breath and opened her eyes looking at her intensely. She nodded and then started to speak.
"Once upon a time Lynx had nearly conquered the world of music."

Emmy listened as Lynn told her about Lynx's past and how he was once hailed as the greatest child musician of the last century along with his brother Marcus. They will be deemed to be the ultimate duo of music and were beginning to gather many fans in the music communities around the world.
Lynn herself admitted to being one of those crazy fans.
She had been to every one of their performances and she even got to meet them a few times. Emmy asked why most people didn't know about these communities as she questioned why she didn't know.
Lynn said, "If you're not a part of it why would you know?"
Emmy blinked as if she was enlightened.
Indeed if one wasn't part of a particular circle, how would one know anything it pertains to?
Lynn continued onwards about how the two brought about a New Era in the world of Music and at that point, Lynn expressed her regret and remorse, her face was also lined with sadness, with tears in her eyes.
"It had all any too fast," Lynn cried, "Even I as a mere fan was filled with sadness about the loss of Marcus, but what about his brother? The one who sang along with him."
Lynn said that Marcus had died abruptly and when they brought them into the church to check how he had perished, it was that he had died because of vitamin deficiency.
Emmy thought that it was stupid, they should've been enough money to support the family.
Lynn shook her head, "Nobody knew why that was but I can't confirm that the parents were feeding them regularly. Their diet however was revealed to be very scarce in meat and fruit. It wasn't that they were poor but that their parents believed that it would help them to be better musicians and some left it out of their plates."
Emmy continued to listen and Lynn later revealed that she had found out about his parent's perfectionism mindset. That was around the time Lynn started to follow Lynx and was perfectly in line with the time he started to fall off the right path.
There are many factors contributing to this. Their fan base which was built over many years had begun to fall apart rapidly before his eyes, the very thing her built with his brother.
Lynx was unable to meet his parent's expectations as he continue to mourn over his brother's death, and due to this, he was never able to play music again.
Lynn sighed, saying "I guess the pressure from all sides just made him crumble and he was never able to see himself picking up another musical instrument again."
"Woah!" Emmy was amazed that Lynx could have such a past and inwardly thanked the heavens for being blessed with the family that she had.
She didn't want to know how she will turn out with such parents. Would she have been able to endure it? Or would she, like Lynx crumble under all the pressure?
It was an interesting thought worth exploring but now was not the time. She had to give the girl an answer.
Lynn shifted, "So will you help me, please?"
"Okay," Emmy said looking at the shock on Lynn's face before it revealed some happiness and she started crying. Emmy said, "I caused a large part of this mess and I'm going to fix it."
It was also because Emmy admired Lynn's loyalty and bravery for coming to her even if there was a high possibility of rejection. She just wanted to help her friend and Emmy could respect that.
She would do the same for hers.
"Thank— you so much!" Lynn smiled, it was a teary but beautifully pure smile and it prompted Emmy to reveal one of her own.
