“It seems like being you, is not as good as I initially thought,” Lyon crossed his arms. “You even have enemies way out here.”
“Hahaha!” Mavis laughed. “I told you, I rather not be famous, it invites all sorts of unnecessary problems for me, but thanks for these.”
Lyon laughed, “Did you sleep with someone’s wife?”
Everyone was shocked by his vulgar question with their eyes bulging out but Mavis laughed it off, “I may be a naughty kid, but I’m not a debauched young master.”
Lyon snorted a smile before his ears perked up, “Looks like we have some explaining to do.”
“Leave this one to me,” said Mavis before he went down the stairs. Sure enough, the headmaster came with a mob of adventurers and alchemists in toe.
“Y-Young master Mavis! I, I’ve heard some disturbing news!” said the headmaster before he noticed three corpses dangling off the tables.
“I’m sorry!” Mavis put his palms together as he apologized. “My presence here brought unnecessary troubles!”
“Ah?” The headmaster and the mobs behind him were stupefied by his words. They thought that the kunpeng team was having a fight with the men from the Sky Clan, however, the young master of the said clan turned out to apologize. “I-I thought that—”
Mavis scratched the back of his head, “These guys are impostors.”
The headmaster raised his brows, “Young master Mavis, is it like the case of last time?”
“You mean the Red Lotus one?”
The headmaster nodded.
“They took another step further,” said Mavis as he sighed. “They dared to impersonate my clan and try to trap me.”
Everyone gasped but Mavis had deliberately cemented the headmaster’s doubt about Lyon’s case regarding the destruction of the First Hall.
“Oh my,” the headmaster nodded. “Are you alright, young master Mavis?”
“I’m fine, thankfully my dear friend Lyon acted in haste, otherwise I would be bedridden ed with toxic in my body,” Mavis sighed.
The headmaster let out a sigh of relief, “Thank the heavens! However, I do apologize that we let these three slip in quite easily.”
“Oh that’s alright, they are quite hard to discern if one didn’t pay close attention, hehe.”
Mavis’s and the headmaster’s conversation was quite audible from the second floor.
“Hmm, what do you think of him?” asked Lyon to Cecile.
“He might seem like a fool, but he is quite an individual,” she answered.
(A fool… perhaps only these two would dare utter out those words against a prominent figure) Hilde had her mouth twitched.
“I know right, hehe. By the way, do we have any plans in Sixth Heaven?” asked Lyon.
“That would depend on your agenda,” said Cecile as she smiled. “If you want to go, we’ll go, however, after you fulfilled your undone tasks.”
“Task?”
“There are many things that still shrouded your mind, right?”
“Like what?”
“Like the existence of Legion, the dagger that the Abyss Tower’s leader assassin gave you, or should I mention a different Elise and her mother that left you? And the most important part that you know you should be doing.”
“Hmm…” Lyon sighed. “When you listed them, it’s awfully a lot.”
“You poke your nose when you shouldn’t,” Cecile chuckled. “But the most important thing, for now, is you.”
“I know,” Lyon nodded whilst the rest of the party was confused by their conversations. His eyes raised as he looked at Mavis making his way toward the second floor. “How did it go?”
“It went well of course,” said Mavis with a smile. “Though sadly, I will have to leave soon.”
“You do? What for?” Lyon raised his brows.
Mavis sighed, “The fact that they even copied my clan’s robe and entered Alchemy Union pretending to be a kin of mine, proved how badly they want to capture me.”
“Are you sure you’re not sleeping with someone’s wife?” Lyon asked once more before he chuckled. “I’m just jesting.”
Mavis laughed. “With that reason, I’m afraid I will end my lunch sooner than expected.”
“Thank you for the time! I thoroughly enjoy it.”
The party stood up with gestures of smiles, except for Lyon’s core group.
“Tell the beautiful ladies there about me, hahaha!” Lyon laughed.
“I’m afraid that you would need to be there to tell them yourself,” said Mavis. “I can’t let the ladies hanging on a fantasy.”
Lyon slapped his thigh before laughing, “Alright, I will visit your clan one day, make sure you welcome me with your utmost respect, I don’t want any bossy, nose-raising nobody looking me down because I’m from the Mortal World.”
“Hehe,” Mavis scratched the back of his head, “It will be hard, but I will try, though if that happened, please don’t kill them unless they went too far.”
“You said it!” said Lyon as he pointed at him. “I will visit your clan when the time comes.”
Mavis nodded, “En, I will await you there, I think you would shake Sixth Heaven just as you did here!” (I’m eager to see how strong will you become when the time comes!).
“I hope not…” Hilde muttered. (No matter what, Lyon would implicate the First Heaven as well if they really wanted to bully us).
“Hehe,” Lyon smiled.
“With this, I bid my farewell,” said Mavis before he retrieved a Returning Jade Stone from his pocket. “Till we meet again, Lyon and friends!”
(Oi, wait a minute…) thought Lyon before Mavis crushed the stone and the jade light encapsulated him. The jade light shot through the ceiling above and leave little rubbles that fell on the second floor before traversing the blue sky.
“That idiot, why is he activating the stone here,” said Lyon as he saw his food was ruined and some even got to his face.
Cecile giggled. “What do you expect from a mischievous kid?”
“Tch!” Lyon clicked his tongue.
“There, there,” Kesya rubbed the sauce out of his face with a napkin, “All handsome again, young master!”
Lyon laughed before the party continued their gathering. Though it was eventful and quite frightening to some people, the day ended with no further buildings transforming into ruins. Most alchemists and adventurers let out a sigh of relief as they saw them exit the Third Hall. The only thing broken was the table on the second floor, it was comparatively better than what happened to the First Hall.
However, when the sun had set and the moon had peaked in the night, Lyon was not inside his room.
“Assid,” Lyon whispered before the said person appeared right in front of him.
“Young master, I have secured the place,” said Assid as he nodded.
“Good, good, good,” Lyon nodded. “Are you certain that all of them are asleep?”
Assid nodded.
“What about the headmaster?” asked Lyon. “Did you douse him or something?”
“He is very much in a deep slumber young master,” Assid answered before he shook his head, “No I didn’t douse him.”
Lyon was taken back before his eyebrows furrowed, “Then what did you do?”
“I knocked him out.”
“Oh…” Lyon’s face turned flat. “Hey, as long as it works.”
Assid nodded, “He is not even in his little hut.”
“What?!” Lyon whispered. “Then where is he?”
“I put him on the second floor of the Third Hall,” said Assid as he nodded. “I made it look like he was drunk and fell asleep there.”
“Woah, you really didn’t pull any punches, did you?” said Lyon before he pursed his lips and nodded. “Yeah, nobody would dare to wake him up with his status.”
“Alright, now the passage is clear, give me the robe, I will take it from here,” said Lyon as he whispered.
“Yes, young master,” Assid gave the white robe in his hands before the latter wore it.
“Hehe, now I’m the headmaster of this Alchemy Union,” said Lyon silently.
Assid nodded, “I will be in my room, young master, the rest is up to you, I will disappear.”
“Wha—Oh, he’s gone,” said Lyon before he sighed. “He didn’t even wish me good luck.”
“Good luck,” said Assid from behind before vanishing from his presence.
Lyon frowned before he pulled up the hood and covered half of his face. He walked through the empty corridors accompanied by crickets calling for a mate once he got to see the vast field.
“Hmm, tonight we have nice wind,” Lyon muttered before he went to the Library.
He saw no one on the first floor, then he ascended to the second floor. He spared a time to check that little room the headmaster own, with his hands covering his nose.
“The door is locked, that old bastard, why didn’t he lock it last time!” He mumbled before ascending to the third floor. By the end of the staircase, he saw a faint thin barrier blocking his vision.
“This must be the barrier that they talk about,” muttered Lyon before he reached out his arm and touched the barrier with his finger, sure enough, he felt no resistance as it pierced to the other side.
“Heh,” Lyon grinned before he entered the prohibited Third Floor.
