They didn’t embark on trying to throw Nathan right away - Stella needed to learn more spellwork first. However, the idea had gotten her excited and she was starting to manipulate the sand with mana.

They did a bit more practicing, and Nathan tried to get a grip on the [Tumbling] skill. It helped him roll more quickly and easily, as well as do things like cartwheels. Nathan had never trained at gymnastics before - so long as you didn’t count learning to do a flip on a trampoline when he was 14 - so he wasn’t very experienced at it. But it seemed like a useful tool in his arsenal. That was especially true when he figured out that the skill helped him regain his feet quickly after being knocked down. It wasn’t hard to use the momentum from falling to roll himself up from almost any position.
