The sun rose above the sky of Red Island, right in the heart of Kegali's great forest. Sun rays began to illuminate the vibrant forest, and the sounds of birds above trees and the gentle wind began to create music that echoed throughout the area. A beautiful setting that could completely conceal every inhabitant's daily struggle to survive.

At one point on the island, a group of 5 Slugs eating algae stuck to the stones and wood had their gooey, retractable eyes on a strange creature navigating through the tall grasses and spiky white stones. A slug with a massive pair of white Fledgling Sentrowl wings folded in its back. The Small Higante Boar's tusks in the lower part of its head and the Peasant's mandibles beside its mouth were shaking as it crawled due to the imbalanced weight its head was carrying.

The Slugs could only stand there and watch.

Eon, on the other hand, ignored them and continued his journey with the out of place weights stuck in his head. Even though it appeared that he was struggling to carry the massive tusks and mandibles, the extra weight did not bother him in the least.

Eon finally came to a halt after hours of aimless wandering. He let his gaze wander throughout the open space he discovered. The trees were not as densely packed as the rest of the island, and there was plenty of room to walk around. He had found the ideal location.

Eon looked around with his gooey eyes, looking for any signs of danger, but he found none. He walked toward the nearest tree and fed on the algae that was abundant in the area after confirming that his newfound area was safe. After a few minutes of eating algae, he was satisfied and began working on the reason for his search for this location.

Eon climbed to the top of one of the one-meter-tall stones and stood there, his gaze wandering throughout the scenery in front of him. Then he spread his massive wings, causing him to lose his balance due to the wind. He fought the wind and managed to stay on top of the stone.

Eon's body began to change, his misplaced tusks and mandibles shrunk, and his Slug's head transformed into a Fledgling Sentrowl's head. Despite its massive size, Fledgling Sentrowl lacked the image of an adult Sentrowl. It had cotton-like white feathers that swayed in the breeze. The majestic image of the Sentrowl evolution line was already present, but it was overshadowed by the fluffy appearance of the Fledgling Sentrowl.

Eon's yellow eyes darted around. As he hooted, he tilted his head and rotated his neck on his back, his yellow eyes grew larger.

He could only see a few things. Although Sentrowl's night vision was among the best in Kegali, it was quite different during the day. Sentrowl's eyes, which were capable of seeing even in the darkest of nights, were flared in daylight. They weren't blind, but the sunlight was too bright for their eyes to see clearly.

All Eon could see at the moment was a blinding field of white light. Because their eyes had not yet adapted to sunlight, the effect on the young Sentrowls was much worse. Unlike the evolved Sentrowls, which could see in daylight to some extent, the fledgling could not travel during the day. During the day, the fledgling Sentrowl form was nearly blind.

Eon growled as the head of Slug replaced the head of his fledgling Sentrowl. His entire body was made of Fledgling Sentrowl, but he had a Slug head with versatile eyes for smelling and seeing. It wasn't the most beautiful form, but it served its purpose admirably.

Eon spread his wings and stood properly, fighting the wind that blew around the area. As he prepared to jump and begin his flight training, his retractable eyes extended. He jumped with the first step of his talon. While his long head was forward, he waved his wide wings in the air. When he realized he wasn't moving forward, he began flapping his wings repeatedly... It was ineffective.

What followed was the sound of his body falling and rolling to the grass, face first. Eon growled and flailed his wings as he stood up. As he crawled back to the high stone, he let out a continuous growl.

He crouched and extended his retractable eyes forward as he reached the top of the stone once more. He paused for a few seconds before spreading his wings and leaping from the stone. Unlike his first attempt, he did not immediately attempt to wave his massive wings. He just let his wings feel the wind as he glided slowly through the air, not flapping his wings until he gently landed on the grass. As he landed, he remained motionless, his gooey eyes swaying with the wind, slowly dancing like the grasses all around him.

Then he began to move again. He climbed to the top of the stone, and as he did so, he spread his wings and extended his head and gooey eyes forward. He took a step forward and glided in the air for a few moments before waving his wings once and propelling himself a meter forward before landing on the tall grasses. Then he climbed back up to the stone and repeated the process. He did not cover the same distance this time, but that was no reason to stop.

Upon landing, he moved quickly and climbed to the top of the stone, where he jumped. He did the same thing over and over again, with the same eagerness each time.

Learning to fly was not something that could be accomplished in a single day, not even by Eon or those born with the ability. It was a difficult process full of setbacks and trials. He used the stone as his platform for the first few hours, and his first wave of wings was always the easiest part, but the second wave of wings was almost always followed by falling into the ground.

He kept doing it and showed no signs of stopping.

By the end of the first day, he could finally wave his wings multiple times and propel his body a long distance. On the second day, he was able to maintain his flight, despite crashing in the trees due to his inability to control his flight maneuver.

Every morning, he would eat the algae that grew abundant in the area and resume his workout. He spent his days jumping from the stone over and over again, trying to flap his wings and fly as far as he could.

Because of how many times he fell into the ground and crashed into the trees, his pained growl became a familiar sound in the area. These were his loudest days since arriving in this world.

It was a good thing he couldn't talk because his endless grumbles would have filled the forest.

He no longer required the stone as a platform by the third day. He could take off by simply jumping and flapping his wings. He could fly in a straight line for long distances at high speeds, but he was occasionally injured when he crashed in the trees. On the fourth day, he learned to maneuver in the air to avoid the dense trees, and as a result, he became capable of making an immediate turn even while traveling at full speed. Crash injuries were still present, but not as frequently as before.

This demonstrated that Eon's natural stubbornness could be advantageous at times.

On the fifth day, he learned to fly very high in the air and dive from a very high place. As time passed, the accidents became fewer and fewer, and his landing and diving skills improved. He wasn't breaking his wings or making long growls in agony any longer... At least not as long or as loudly.

One week after he began his training...

He could finally fly like he was born to do so.
