Moving so quickly and stealthily while hiding in the darkness of the night. Using their sharp and precise talons, they were capturing helpless land prey and bringing them into their territory, the vast sky.
They possessed an extremely versatile racial exclusive skill called Hunter's Mark, which allowed them to lock on a target, preventing their prey from hiding or fleeing, as long as their target remained in their line of sight, which in their case could cover a large area. Even if their target was hidden among a swarm of identical monsters, they could distinguish their locked target. Their racial skill, wide and superior night vision, and flight made them dangerous predators of many of Kegali's inhabitants.
They operated by capturing their prey and transporting them to their lair, where all of their catches were executed simultaneously.
Known as one of the night sky's dominators...
Eon watched as one by one, their entire group shrank in size. They were being swept up so quickly that there was no longer time to react. The Peasants were unable to fight back against their enemies who were hiding in their blind spot, directly above their heads.
Eon tried to move his dot-like eyes around to see the scenery of the ongoing battle, but what greeted him was a set of talons right beside him. The quick grab gave Eon no time to react; the next thing he knew, he was flying in the dark sky, being bombarded by the cold wind. Eon's antennae stood up as he stared at the ground where he had previously stood. When he tilted his head sideways, he was greeted by a massive image of a white bird carrying him in the air and holding him with its sharp claws.

Its pure white feathers swayed in the wind as it flew, a monster that looked exactly like an owl. With a wingspan of 200 centimeters from both ends and a height of 75 centimeters from beak to tail. Although it was a young bird, it was already quite large.
In the air, it was moving at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, which was equivalent to 500% of its top sprinting speed. The creature's top flight speed was always 500% of its top sprinting speed.
Along with the one carrying Eon, a swarm of silhouettes soared above the forest, swooping to their prey with such precision that they dominated the area and crushed their prey.
Eon tried to move, but the young bird knew exactly how to keep a Peasant from struggling. The Fledgling Sentrowl tightly gripped Eon's heavy head with its four talons, preventing him from fighting back with his mandibles and skill, Savage Bite.
Normally, the Fledging Sentrowl's strategy was sufficient. No peasant could get out of this trap... Especially since their best weapons, their mandibles, were rendered useless.
However... Eon's entire body was a weapon.

The Fledgling Sentrowl shook as a result of the pain inflicted on it. The pain caused by Lethal Augmentation would spread throughout the target's body, not just where the contact occurred. And a powerful attack that raided every nerve in the Fledging Sentrowl's body was not something the Fledging Sentrowl could easily withstand.
As the Fledgling Sentrowl's body suffered the pain inflicted by Eon, the Fledgling Sentrowl's grip on him loosened slightly. Eon moved his head, closing and opening his mandibles, as if enraged, while pointing his mandibles upward.

The Fledgling Sentrowl snarled in pain as it swayed in the air, suffering from an unexpected attack from its ostensibly helpless prey. Its flight path began to deviate, and instead of flying directly to their territory, just a few kilometers away, where their catches would be executed, it descended slowly to the ground.
The Fledgling Sentrowl decided to finally let go of its unexpectedly defiant prey due to its young survival instinct. It let go of the Peasant it was carrying with its talons.
Normally, once released, the Peasant would safely land on the ground due to their extremely high tolerance for fall damage.
However... The catch of the poor young bird was no ordinary peasant.
This one was incredibly obstinate.

Eon crawled up using the talon of the Fledgling Sentrowl. The strong wind was pushing him, but it wasn't enough to stop him. He clambered into the rough skin of the talon with both of his antennae standing. He climbed all the way to the back of the massive bird, continuing his assault.

The supposed predator growled in agony as it descended from the sky, but it wasn't enough to cause it to fall. The Fledgling Sentrowl tried to shake Eon off by spinning in the air and flying away from their group in a random direction. It did so for a few seconds longer, hoping Eon would finally let go. However, they were both well aware that Peasant's grip was not something that could be easily shaken off, especially when holding on to feathers.
Furthermore, Fledgling Sentrowl's skill, Rapid Peck, could no longer reach him, especially while in the air and Eon was hiding within its body.
The aggressive movement of the giant bird Eon was riding in was no match for Eon's six rough legs. He kept moving forward, despite the strong wind that was buffeting him... He climbed all the way to the neck of the Fledgling Sentrowl and then straight to its wide face.
When the Fledgling Sentrowl noticed him crawling on its face, it took drastic action, rolling in the air and aggressively shaking its head, hitting the surfaces of the trees in the process. To avoid crashing to the ground, the Fledgling Sentrowl flew higher in the sky. But Eon kept his grip tight and crawled until he reached the right eye of the giant bird that had caught him as prey.

Eon revealed himself by staring directly into Fledgling Sentrowl's brown right eyes. The poor helpless giant night bird, on the other hand, could only stare at him while its entire body maneuvered aggressive acrobatics in the air to get rid of him.
Due to the panic caused by Eon, both of them became separated from their respective groups and had no companions to assist them. They had traveled a long distance from their starting point.
Eon's opening and closing mandibles tightened, and he used them to stab his opponent in the eye. The White Assassin, a supposed superior monster, descended to the ground and died without even a chance to fight back.

[Deceitful Shapeshifter: a new form has been acquired. The Fledgling Sentrowl form is now available for use.]
As the fallen bird surged toward the ground, Eon leaped into the air, spreading all six of his legs. Although Peasants were essentially immune to fall damage, Eon was unaware of this at the time, which was also why he made sure he had spare MP to use. And while falling, he came up with a solution to his problem.
[Deceitful Shapeshifter has been activated.]
A pair of majestic 200-centimeter-wide wings spread out and slowly glide through the air. It descended through the thick foliage of the trees that covered the area. The owner's body was revealed at the origin of the two wide elegant wings. It was a long, brown Slug with out-of-place Peasant's mandibles and a pair of hook-shaped Small Higante Boar's tusks. Eon's retractable eyes slid forward, seemingly gliding through the air with pride.
It was not a form that many eyes would find appealing. But it was magnificent... In Eon's mind, at least.
However, he was still getting used to his new wings. When he tried to flap his wings, instead of propelling him upward, he plummeted all the way to one of the trees. He growled and shook his retractable eyes as he plummeted. As his body slammed into the hard tree, he made a squeaky sound and eventually fell to the dried leaves on the ground.
His newly acquired pair of wings twitched while bent in half, and his mandibles closed and opened as he endured the pain of colliding with a tree. Fortunately, the height he fell from was not that great, only high enough to cause temporary pain.
[Fall Damage has dealt 1 damage to you.]
Eon growled, his eyes hidden inside his head.

[Rapid Peck.]
[Lunges the user's beak toward the target, dealing 145% (+45% per level) of the user's agility stat.]
[Do you want to learn Rapid Peck?]
Eon denied it and decided to keep Savage Bite, which was far more useful.
As he began to move, his eyes popped out of his head. It was time to leave and find a safe place to hide... At least until the following morning.
He couldn't fly just yet. He still needed to learn how to use his wings properly, but it would only be a matter of time before he could.
