Chapter 22: Reality

"Of Charon's Boat across the River, grant thy key as thy mind wanders to freedom." You replied.

As soon as you finished stating those words, a clink echoed out of nowhere and something smashed into your head. The sudden hit shocked you before pain woke you from your daze.

But you could not move. Something wet was trickling down your face. You reached up and touched it. It was blood! You tried to scream but nothing seemed to come out.

Fatigue washed over you as you felt your body being drained of its vitality. You tried to look up, but a sharp pain jolted down your spine. Something was on your head!

And there was something on your head indeed. A long tube-like structure had pierced your head as your brains were slowly sucked out. The receiving end of the tube was a demonic monster with bug-like eyes and leathery wings. It looked like a monstrous mosquito!

The monster continued to feast on your brains as your vitality quickly died out, leaving behind a husk of your former self. However, you didn't feel any more pain nor were you scared.

Instead, your face showed that of a peaceful person...as if you were in a beautiful and wondrous dream. And in that dream, you forever stayed.

You have died.
