Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Disappearance

The next day Ru Li woke up early and after readying himself went out of the brothel and was on his way to his house. While he was on his way he passed through many food stalls and ended up changing his mood. Soon he entered one of the shops and ordered some snacks along with a bottle of liquor to fill his stomach. Soon the order came and he focused on enjoying his meal while sipping the glass of alcohol every few minutes.

"Look isn't that Ru Li? HAHA it was fun seeing him get beaten badly by that young mistress." An extravagantly dressed fatty said."With that weak cultivation of his, he dares to forcefully ask her for her hand for marriage. Laughable!" the fatty continued trying hard to catch Ru Li's attention.

Ru Li who had been eating his meal without any concern raised his eyes to meet with him and just stared at the fat person for a while. Seeing Ru Li staring at him like that the fatty suddenly got nervous and said, "What ya staring at weakling? Let me tell you if you already don't know, that young mistress has long ago left this small town and you would never see her. Serves you right haha." the fatty said.

Hearing what he said Ru Li wanted to smirk but he controlled it and just continued eating. What happens to that woman was none of his concern now. 

"You're speechless, right? Understandable cause it was my first seeing you acting like that for a woman. You definitely fell for her at first sight..." The fatty came towards my table and continued on after sitting  "...To be honest I too fell for her beauty. She even came in my dream today. It's rare to see someone as beautiful as her in this life. I'm happy just for being able to see such a sight, unlike your ungrateful self who couldn't understand his own worth and tried to shamelessly ask her for her hand." 

After finishing what he wanted to say, the fatty took hold of the bottle from which Ru Li was pouring alcohol on my porcelain glass and downed it all in one go.

Ru Li looked at all this in an amused manner. This person's name was Chen Li. He was second only to Ru Li among the weakest people of the village so in order to satisfy his ego he used to come to Ru Li to make fun of him. Fatty Chen was not Ru Li's friend but neither could he consider him his enemy. This body's previous owner used to make fun of Chen and he used to do the same. They only had a little difference in their strength as they both had little interest in the path of cultivation.

While Fatty Chen was interested in eating and lazing around, Ru Li was interested in drinking and satisfying his sexual needs. Needless to say, both their parents had enough money that allowed them to enjoy such a life. 

"Another bottle of liquor please." Ru Li told the owner of the shop to which he quickly responded. Ru Li only drank a little bit from this new serving as most of it was finished by Fatty Chen who was now crying with his head down on the table about being unable to be with the young mistress cause of whom the original Ru Li pushed himself to cultivate and ended up dying.

Ru Li left the shop after paying the owner money while leaving fatty Chen to dwell in his sorrows. He soon reached his home and was welcomed by Hue Chen. He told him not to disturb him as he was about to breakthrough. Hue Chen was happy beyond words hearing it. How long had it been since his young master was stuck in the Infant stage...it had been ages!!. Hearing all the taunts and scorns directed toward his young master from the people of the town made Hue Chen feel quite disheartened. What affected him, even more, was his inability to help his young master.

Hue Chen did as he was told and made sure that his young master would not be disturbed by anyone during his time of culitvation. Ru Li soon entered his room and after freshening he was finally ready to attempt his breakthrough. He sat on the cushion on the floor and closed his eyes to attempt his breakthrough.

He focused his concentration on the Spirit Qi present in his core and then made it exert pressure in the outward direction from all sides. Ru Li clenched his teeth as he did that because of the pain he was experiencing in the process. The pain was not extreme but it still hurt and clenching his teeth was all he could do now to bear with it. After barraging the inner walls of his core with Spirit Qi for a long time his core finally transformed and became a few centimetres bigger.

Ru Li slowly opened his eyes. He had just taken his first steps in his martial arts journey. Ru Li slowly stood up and stretched his body while feeling the newfound strength his body was capable of. A series of cracks rang out because of him being in a stiff position for a long time. He was now at the first level of the Body Tempering Stage. Body Tempering Stage was considered the first step in the journey of cultivation by all because after breaking through the Infant stage one's body becomes much stronger than that of any normal human.

Ru Li then sat back down to consolidate his cultivation. His Spirit Qi was mostly all used up when breaking through as a result his newly formed core was almost empty. Ru Li started absorbing Spirit Qi from his surroundings to fill up his core. After around two more hours, he had finally filled up his core. Ru Li was quite pleased with the results and to commemorate this achievement he went out of his room towards the courtyard to check the growth of his Earth Fist Skill. 

PAT PAT PAT

The sound coming was much heavier than earlier so Ru Li wanted to test it on something harder. He thought of the concrete wall surrounding the courtyard as a suitable test dummy to measure his strength. 

BAM

There was a deep fist-sized crack on the concrete wall with pieces of concrete falling down as Ru Li removed his fist from the wall. Hue Chen who had been watching Ru Li from the side the moment he came out of his room was satisfied seeing the results of Ru Li's punch and went back to arrange dinner for his young master since it was already late in the evening.

"That's quite a powerful punch," Ru Li thought out loud. His eyes then went towards the other skills placed on the scroll rack in the courtyard. It was time to learn a new skill but his hungry stomach stopped him. He just noticed that it was almost late in the evening now. He went to the dining room to ask Hue Chen to prepare his food.

Before Ru Li could ask Hue Chen to prepare the dinner he found that he was already arranging the food on the table and was almost done. Ru Li was quite pleased with this and started digging in the food that has been prepared for him. "Thanks for the food." Ru Li said after finishing up the food. "It's my pleasure young master" Hue Chen replied.

Suddenly thinking of something Ru Li asked Hue Chen, "Hue Chen do you know about what stage comes after the Body Tempering Stage?" Ru Li asked. "Young master after the Body Tempering Stage comes the Heart Tempering Stage where one is supposed to clear his heart from the major demons which had been holding them back in the path of seeking immortality."Hue Chen said.

"Immortality?" Ru Li asked in a confused manner.

"Yes, young master, you might be unaware of this because in this small village people consider this only to be a rumour but as one cultivates higher and higher and ascends different martial stages they are not just becoming stronger but their lifespan is also increasing. So guess what would be the result of achieving the highest martial stage?" Hue Chen asked Ru Li.

"They would become the strongest and also have infinite lifespan..meaning immortal?" Ru Li asked doubtfully."Exactly! In the bigger cities, cultivators are also known as immortal cultivators because of this reason." Hue Chen said.

'So it's like that.' Ru Li thought to himself. He was also curious about the highest cultivation stage of people in their own town. Hue Chen looked surprised that I didn't know that because it was my own father with his cultivation being in the fourth level of Heart Tempering Stage. 'Well, the former owner should be ashamed of himself..." Ru Li thought to himself.

Ru Li soon left his house in order to act his part of being a depraved young master. He soon reached the red light area, chose a random woman as his partner for the night and after finishing his session with her which lasted for more than an hour thanks to his body becoming stronger he felt pleased inside. Though he was doing this as an act, he would be lying to himself if he said he didn't liked the touch of women over his body. 'I hope I won't become a debauchee like the original person as well.' Ru Li thought to himself as he told the woman to go out of the room cause he wanted to rest alone and instead of resting he cultivated almost the whole night.

This was how Ru Li spent the majority of his days for the next two weeks without having anyone an ounce of suspicion about his activities. By the end of the second week, Ru Li finally entered the second level of the Body Tempering Stage. He was quite surprised by this cause according to his knowledge even the publically announced geniuses took more than six months to enter different levels in the Body Tempering Stage.

'Am I some cultivation genius born once in a thousand years?...No, that can't be right because if that was the case then it would have been discovered during the early years of the original body owner since it was not the case then this can mean only one thing. This body's cultivation talent increased when I entered this body.' Ru Li thought to himself.

Ru Li was filled with happiness discovering that he was able to cultivate much faster without using any cultivation resources when compared to others. This would allow him to quickly increase his strength so that he could live in this world to the fullest. Ru Li's father should have been back by now but he clearly wasn't which made Ru Li worry a little but he decided to wait for a few more days. 

Ru Li was now practising his Earth Fist technique in the courtyard. He wanted to learn more skills but he discovered that all the skill scrolls placed on the rack were fist skills. He already knew one so he wasn't interested in learning others as a result he instead dedicated most of his time nowadays to cultivation.

Another week passed like that with Ru Li receiving no news about his father. Seeing the obvious worry on Ru Li's face Hue Chen comforted by saying, "Young master I've already sent people to investigate about your father's whereabouts, you don't need to worry much though your father is considered the strongest person in this village so he would definitely be fine." 

Ru Li could only sigh and wait for the news. Even though he wasn't his real father, the memories of his previous owner coincided with his making him feel worried about him. Another week passed and Hue Chen who had been trying to comfort his young master all these days lost his cool when he heard the news from the people he sent to investigate.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?! You all still can't find them?!!" Hue Chen flared up on the people whom he had sent for the investigation. According to them, they had asked all the people with whom Ru Li's father, Zen Li and his Uncle, Chu Ling might have interacted on their way but they couldn't find hints about their whereabouts. It was as if they suddenly disappeared from the world.

"Keep on searching for him till you find them, that's my order!" Hue Chen ordered the men angrily. 'Master I hope that you're still healthy and alive' Hue Chen thought to himself. Ru Li who had been cultivating the house heard this commotion as well. Comparing what was happening now to the many novels he had read in his former life Ru Li was convinced that his father was in deep trouble and most likely won't be coming back if he didn't do anything to help him.

Ru Li quickly made up his mind to search for his father while getting stronger along the way. Ru Li soon told Hue Chen about his plans. Hue Chen rejected it saying that it would be too dangerous to go by himself but finally, Hue Chen relented when Ru Li agreed to go along with him so that he can protect him. Ru Li wasn't aware of Hue Chen's cultivation level but from how his father treated Hue Chen as his equal rather than a family servant he deduced that he at least had the same cultivation level as his father, fourth level of the Heart Tempering Stage.
