The novel "Bloody Camellia," which confidently occupied the position of one of the most popular romantic novels over the past few years, ended relatively recently.
The plot of the novel told the story of a sister and brother who, orphaned at a young age, were forced to survive in the cruel world of the Middle Ages in order to commit their revenge. After a series of tragedies and trials that befell them, they were finally able to do what they wanted.
The main character of this story, Princess Britney Blanche, puts an end to a long-term bloody feud with her uncle. After avenging her dead parents and removing the traitorous king from the throne, she became queen and married the cursed duke.
Her younger brother Josh stayed with her at the royal court, helping to run the country. He grew up a noble and stately young man, and decided to devote his life to restoring his mother's line, taking the place of the new Duke of Ashford.
Despite the fact that the plot of the novel in the form of revenge sounded quite trivial and hardly stood out among other literature of a similar genre, its main advantage was that romance was not at the forefront of everything.
It was quite the opposite: the brutality, bloodshed, and endless political intrigue made this story unusual but exciting at the same time.
The main character Britney became the idol of many young girls, because she was absolutely not like an ordinary heroine from short stories. She was persistent, independent and strong-willed. Perhaps this was just the case when she was with the main character.
The tragic lives of Britney and her brother were really interesting to watch, and so when the last chapter came out, no one could quite believe that it was actually the end.
In the final epilogue, Britney and Josh brought flowers to their mother's grave and thanked her for giving them the chance to change everything. It was a standard, but very touching ending.
The readers, including myself, were happy for the characters, although they were somewhat disappointed; after all, this story was really kind of unique, and it was unlikely that something similar would come out in the next few years.
At least, that was what I thought when I finished reading the last chapter in my hospital bed. There wasn't much joy in my daily life, and this novel was the one thing that made it easier for a long time.
I contracted a terminal illness when I was a teenager, and I haven't left the hospital room since. I was now in my twenties, but I hadn't noticed much difference in my age.
After the old pleasures of life were forbidden to me, the only thing that remained for me was reading. I read my favorite novels from morning till late at night, because it was the only way for me to forget about the harsh realities of real life.
I knew I wouldn't live long, so I wanted to read as much as possible. I didn't think much about my real life.
Most of my family members turned their backs on me as soon as they found out about my illness, and only my mother supported me to the end. Seeing how hard it was for her to take care of me, I felt a lot of guilt, especially knowing that I could never be healthy again.
So, in the depths of my heart, I wasn't afraid of death at all; maybe I was even waiting for it.
It would be better if I just died and had a good dream than continue to make things difficult for my mother.
Such thoughts kept running through my head until I really died.
It happened so suddenly that I didn't even feel anything.
However, if you compare death with sleep, then you could say that I just fell asleep. And now I was going to have a long dream.
Although if I'd known what would happen to me when I died, I wouldn't have expected it so much.
After all, it was even worse than my previous life.
The day I first woke up in this world, I felt like I was really just dreaming.
Otherwise, I just didn't believe that all this could have happened to me.
In the bathroom, I saw my new reflection, which just amazed me.
It was a girl of dazzling beauty, looking like an angel, with beautiful, fairy-like platinum-blonde hair and a pair of amethyst eyes that shone like precious stones. It was a face I'd definitely seen somewhere before.
But where?
When I realized that I was no longer in my hospital room, but in a luxurious nineteenth-century mansion, I fell into shock.
Of course, I had read novels about people moving to other worlds before, but I just couldn't believe that this could have happened to me!
Didn't this only happen in fictional universes?! Was this what awaited me when I died?
Before I could fully recover, there was a knock on the door of the room I was in, and I heard the voice of a young girl:
"Mistress, your things are packed. Everything is ready for your departure to the Royal Academy. Is there anything else you'd like to add to the list?"

"The Royal Academy?!"
I was taken aback.
I definitely didn't expect this.
The Royal Academy? Such an institution was quite often present in romantic novels! Could this be a confirmation of my guess?
"Yes, my lady... You had asked us to prepare your things a week before you left. Your train is due in two days, and I was wondering if there was anything else you might need."
"Ummm... No, thanks."
"I see. Then rest, my lady."
"Wait!" I called out to her as the maid was already moving away from the door. "Can you remind me of my name?"
"Excuse me?"
"Simple... Just tell me that."
The maid's surprised tone spoke directly to her expression at this moment.
"Leriana. Your name is Leriana Ashford, my lady."
With that, the maid left, leaving me in utter confusion.
Ashford? I was sure the name was familiar. She was definitely mentioned in a novel somewhere...
Stop...
It couldn't be!
I rushed to the mirror and took another good look at my reflection.
Now, with a second glance, I finally understood who this girl reminded me of so much.
Britney Blanche. The main character of "Bloody Camellia."
With her platinum-blonde hair, posture, and facial features... She was almost identical to the character on the cover of the book.
But... Meanwhile, I wasn't entirely sure it was her.
Britney's eyes were bright blue, just like King Philip's, but this girl's were amethyst, like jewels.
Plus, even though they were very similar, there were quite distinct differences. Unlike Britney, who looked like a tomboy, this girl was more like an elegant lady.
Delicate and sophisticated... That was how it could be described.
But in that case, if it was definitely not the main character of the novel, then who...?
At the same time, the girl's last name came to my aid.
Britney didn't have any sisters, or any other girls of her own age, which meant she couldn't be either of them... There was only one option left.
Leriana Ashford, the mother of the main character.
I was trapped in the body of a girl with a tragic fate who would end up in the prime of her life protecting her children during Razor Blanche's rebellion.
This was exactly what the plot of the novel had in store for her.
And considering that this would be going to happen in the not-too-distant future, I didn't have much time left. More precisely, I should be dead in ten years.
