Despite Rachel's continued refusal to listen to me, I finally managed to persuade her to go with me to the school doctor.

The girl's illness, for obvious reasons, seemed strange to me, and unlike her, I wasn't ready to give up so easily. Every cause has an effect, and I wanted to find out.

So after Rachel got much better, I decided to take her to a professional. Although she resisted, explaining that the examination would not make any sense.

The doctor's office was located in a separate wing of the academy, and we went there through the academic building. Just in case, I even held Rachel's hand so she wouldn't run away. In response to this, the girl only sighed indignantly.

"I said it's useless," she snapped, "what do you want from a useless imperial doctor?"

"I want him to see you," I said, "but don't you want to know what the diagnosis is?"

"Not interested."

Rachel said it with such indifference that I was surprised she didn't care about her own health.

"What if it's something deadly?" I flared up, "Really, you don't care?"

Rachel frowned.

"Well, guess I'll die."

I exhaled. Arguing with Rachel on this topic was completely useless. What could I say, if for so many years she endured such pain, and did not even think to turn to specialists?

Okay, Rachel, she was all right. But how could her father be so oblivious to what was happening?

"The Duke really didn't say anything?" I asked, "Maybe he knows something about your illness."

"I don't know what the old man has in mind," the girl said irritably, "He just said it was family stuff."

"Family...?"

It seemed that there was no point in asking any more questions. If Rachel herself did not know the details of her condition, then only a doctor could give her the correct diagnosis. At least, that was what I hoped. After all, if it really was some family ailment, then no imperial doctor would be able to help her.

We walked down a semi-deserted corridor, where students were rarely seen giving us sidelong glances. Since most of them had already left for class, we were almost the only freshmen left at the academy.

On the one hand, it was very convenient, because there were half as many whispers around. On the other hand, it created a strange atmosphere when there was dead silence in such a huge building.

Anyway, it was only for three days, so I didn't pay much attention to what was happening. I could take it as a kind of short-term rest.

As I continued to make sure that Rachel didn't sneak out of here, I had a strange feeling.

Which came true in the next few minutes.

A young man I vaguely recognized suddenly appeared in front of us. How could I not know: it was he who Rachel had almost torn off her arm the first time we'd met at the academy. It was really hard to forget.

I hadn't seen him again since that day, but now he suddenly showed up in the middle of the hallway. Getting in the way of Rachel and me.

Rachel frowned. Unlike me, she didn't recognize the man she beat up a couple of months ago.

"Who are you?" she asked coldly.

"You hurt me and didn't even apologize!" said the student, "And now I have come to demand compensation."

Rachel chuckled and started to walk past him, but he called out to her:

"If you don't compensate me for my physical and mental damage, I'll report you to the Ministry of Education!"

"Do whatever you want. It's the first time I've seen you anyway."

If anyone had dared to present something to Rachel earlier, she would have lashed out with obvious intent. But since I was with her this time, she decided to hold back. I couldn't help but appreciate the gesture.

"How can you pretend you don't remember me? Because of you, I almost lost my arm last time!"

"I don't remember every insect that gets in my way."

After Rachel threw those contemptuous words at him, I hoped that everything would be all right. But no. In the next second, this guy made a fatal mistake.

He put a hand on Rachel's shoulder, trying to stop her.

"I haven't finished yet...!"

The girl turned to him with a terrible expression on her face. She hated it when anyone else touched her.

At that moment, I was seriously afraid for the fate of this unfortunate man.

"HOW DARE YOU, YOU WRETCHED WORM...!"

Rachel only needed one punch to send the student flying a couple of meters away from her. Then, with an understandable bloodthirsty motive, she was going to deal with him.

"It looks like you really don't need the arm if you're trying so hard to part with it."

The poor student cringed in horror because there was nothing he could do. It was too late to even call his teachers before Rachel seriously hurt him. This time, he probably won't get off with just a broken arm.

I was watching from the sidelines, and I knew I couldn't help but step in.

I wasn't afraid to approach her at that moment, and before Rachel could finish off her "victim," I grabbed her arm.

"Don't!" I shook my head pleadingly.

"Leave me alone! Do you think I can let that bastard go?!"

When Rachel was angry, it was extremely difficult to get her to listen to anyone else's opinion. Still, I tried.

"Just once! Do it for me," I said.

If Rachel started another bloodbath, I couldn't imagine how it would end. Even if Duke Cassius funded this school, the headmaster couldn't always turn a blind eye to her actions. Therefore, she couldn't act so recklessly.

Even though I tried by hook or crook to get Rachel to change her mind, it didn't work for her. If someone touched her, it was automatically triggered as the strongest trigger for uncontrolled aggression. Even my pleas were powerless in this situation.

Then, I decided to use my last trick. Although, from the very beginning, I did not hope that it would work.

"If you hit him now, I won't... talk to you for a month!"

"What?"

Rachel was taken aback.

"Just try it!" I said, "I won't even say hello to you later!"

The girl hesitated. Obviously, her first intention was to tell me to go to hell. But later, she thought about it when she realized I wasn't joking.

To be honest, I didn't really believe it would help. I always thought Rachel was waiting for me to leave her alone. I probably didn't matter any more to her than the young man lying on the floor.

Just another insect that was irritatingly intruding into her life.

I just wanted to try.

But surprisingly… The fury in the girl's eyes subsided.

"You really won't?"

I was surprised that she'd asked, but I stammered right back.:

"O-of course! I don't waste words either!"

My words made Rachel think.

"You won't come to me for a month?"

"Exactly!"

Rachel gave me a strange look. After which, something flickered in her expression.

She looked at the boy who was still lying under her feet, waiting for his death sentence. Then, displeased, she said:

"All right… you're still alive, for today."

After saying that, Rachel turned to me. At that moment, my heart skipped a beat for the first time.

After Rachel Cassius had nearly taken his life, a trembling student with wobbly legs was eager to get out of this place as soon as possible.

As he gasped for air, which he suddenly missed, he noticed a figure waiting for him outside the dorm building.

Despite his fear of what he had just experienced, he had to head there.

There were no outsiders here anymore, so the student and his employer were left alone.

"Well? How'd it go?" Crown Prince Philip asked expectantly.

He cringed even more fearfully.

"Y-Your Highness, I was unable to complete your assignment."

"What?"

"You said that if I asked, Rachel Cassius would pay me back! But she was suddenly going to attack me!"

Philippe Blanche pursed his lips. According to his original plan, this was exactly what was going to happen. Knowing about Duke Cassius' daughter's uncontrollable aggression, he was counting on this guy not to come back to him on his own two feet again. But for some reason, he was still alive.

"You say she wanted to attack you?"

"Yes...!"

"So why are you still alive?"

This question confused the student.

"Lady Ashford was with her… She stopped her."

When the prince found out, he was even angrier. This wasn't what he had hoped for when he made this plan. And all the more so if Leriana intervened in this matter.

It wasn't hard for Philip to find the man Rachel Cassius had previously had a conflict with in a short time. That would be a solid proof of her guilt.

A couple of months ago, this student, unaware of Rachel's terrible reputation, called her eyes "scary" and nearly lost his arm. Rachel herself forgot about this incident the very next day, but the young man remained offended for a long time and wanted revenge.

Crown Prince Philip's excuse was a good opportunity. He promised him that he would do everything possible to make Rachel pay him back for the beating he'd taken. But first, he had to talk to her himself to hold her accountable.

It was at this point that Philip expected Rachel to snap and kill him. It would be the perfect reason to kick her out of the academy afterward.

However, because of Leriana, this never happened! She had intervened at the wrong time and ruined his plan.

Philip sighed, ruffling his hair in exasperation.

It seemed that this time, too, he would have to do it all by himself.

"Your Highness!" meanwhile, the young man timidly turned to him. "But you will still help me? You promised that you would take my side!"

Philip looked at him and smiled.

"Of course. I always keep my word."

In the next second, the Crown Prince's personal bodyguards, three big men in knight armor, emerged from the shadows. They stood menacingly behind him.

The student got scared, not understanding what was going on.

"I'm really going to be on your side," Philip continued, "in court, I'm going to say that you were the victim who was murdered by Rachel Cassius."

"What...? A victim...!" he asked in horror. "But Your Highness...!"

Philip gave him a cold look before he could finish his sentence. After a moment, he gave a clear order:

"Tomorrow, this guy's body should be discovered in the main hall of the academy."

"Yes, Your Highness!"

After throwing out these words, the Crown Prince turned around and left, while his bodyguards pounced on the student.
