“Feng, what did you say? You want me to help you get a composer who can help you write scores?” Kirilenko is puzzled. If Feng wants to get a few songs for Elena, he can hire someone to compose it. But Feng Yu sounds like he wants to write the songs himself.
But even if Feng Yu wants to write the songs, why can’t he write it himself? Why must he get a composer to write the sheet music?
“I have a few melodies in my mind, and I want someone to record it while I hum it.” Although Feng Yu knows how to play the guitar, he doesn’t know how to write it. It will be too troublesome for him to try out note by note on the guitar.
“You need it now?”
“Yes. I am afraid I might forget the melodies later. Oh, help me get a translator too. I will be writing Chinese songs and need someone to translate it into Russian. What else do you think I need?”
“Alright. Wait a while. I will make a call.”
An hour later, an old man with white hair walked out of the helicopter and went straight to the opera house. Kirilenko has translators in his mansion.
“Feng, this is Mr. Pudovkin, a famous musician in Moscow. You just need to sing the song, and he will write out the whole song.”
Feng Yu started whistling part of the song. Pudovkin was unfazed at first, but after listening to more of the song, his eyes brighten up.
This melody is beautiful, and it is their Russian style of music. How did this Chinese man write such a beautiful melody?
After Feng Yu finishes whistling the song, Pudovkin sat down at the piano and started playing the song. Feng Yu closes his eyes and listened. Pudovkin had played the whole song after listening to his whistling!
Feng Yu continues to whistle another song, and Pudovkin memorized the song again! He can memorize two songs without mistakes.
After recording the third melody, Feng Yu stopped. He can only remember four Chinese songs in Russian style.
<The White Birch Forest>, <Lake Baikal>, <Ten minutes of a lifetime>, and <Moscow at dusk>. One of the songs is by Pu Shu, two by Li Jian, and the last one is by Shui Mu Nian Hua. All these songs are in the Russian style.
Feng Yu had sung <The White Birch Forest> before, and the other three have not appeared yet.
Because of Elena, Feng Yu had to become a composer again.
After a while, the translator had translated Feng Yu’s Chinese lyrics and gave the Russian version to Feng Yu. Feng Yu took a look and noticed some parts are different from his own translation. But Feng Yu is not a professional translator, and some words used cannot express the meaning he wanted.
When Feng Yu sang <Lake Baikal> in Russian, Pudovkin started playing the piano.
After the song finished, Pudovkin claps and asked. “Mr. Feng, this is a beautiful song, but your vocals are not suitable for it. Do you mind me letting someone else sing this song?”
Damn! I am belittled!
Alright. Feng Yu admits that his voice is not suitable to be a singer, and furthermore, this song is written for Elena. Her voice is much better than his.
“Mr. Pudovkin, this song is written for someone else. Sorry.”

Pudovkin got anxious. “Mr. Feng, such a good song must be performed by someone suitable. If not, it will not sound nice!”
Feng Yu waved to Elena, who was sitting by the side.
“Elena, sing a few lines for Mr. Pudovkin.”
Elena could not remember the whole song but managed to sing a few lines. Pudovkin’s eyes brighten up. This voice is perfect for this song. Is this song written for her? She can sing so well after listening to it once. Genius!
Pudovkin finished listening to Feng Yu singing all three songs and took the lyrics. He made some amendments and sang it once himself.
Although the translator is professional, he is not music trained. Some words might represent the meaning, but the sound is not suitable for the song. After Pudovkin changed some of the words, the song sounded nicer.
“Thank you, Mr. Pudovkin, for your help. Can you help me write the score sheet? After we collected enough songs, I will let her release an album.”
Singers no longer release their albums in records, or cassette tapes, now. Their albums are either on CDs or DVDs. Of course, not every song in the album will have music videos, or else the cost will be too high.
“No problem. Leave the rest of the songs to me. I will compose a few songs or get my friends to write some for her. Young lady, are you interested in joining my company?” Pudovkin asked.
Kirilenko frowned. “Mr. Pudovkin. Don’t you find her familiar? Let me give you a reminder. She is a dancer.”
Dancer? A dancer can sing so well? Stop kidding… Wait… Is it her?
“Is she the ballet dancer, Elena?!”
Pudovkin is disappointed. Elena is already one of the lead dancers for the world’s best ballet troupe. She is at the peak of her career, and why will she join his company as a new singer?
Elena grabbed Feng Yu’s arm lightly and is looking at Pudovkin eagerly. Pudovkin is one of the top musicians in Russian and East Europe.
Feng Yu said. “Mr. Pudovkin. Although Elena cannot join your company, she can be your student if you are willing to teach.”
Pudovkin is overjoyed. “Of course! I am willing to impart everything I know to her. She has the most beautiful voice I had ever hear. Sir, are you willing to provide songs of this quality for the long term?”
Feng Yu rolled his eyes. Do I look like someone who needs to sell songs for a living?
Pudovkin saw Feng Yu’s attitude and knew his answer. He sighed and asked. “There are many geniuses in China. I heard a beautiful song, <The White Birch Forest>, and I heard it was written by a Chinese Highschool student. Do you know him?”
Feng Yu felt proud to be praised by a renowned musician.
Before Feng Yu replies, Elena said. “Teacher, that song is written by Mr. Feng too.” Elena looks at Feng Yu with admiration, making Feng Yu feel prouder.
Pudovkin’s eyes opened wide. The person in front of him is that genius? He is so talented in music, but he doesn’t seem to be interested in this industry. What a waste!
“I promise I will train Elena to the next level within three months, and she can start recording her album at that time!”
Feng Yu laughed. “Thank you, Mr. Pudovkin.”
