"Fuck! What the hell do you think you are doing?!" One student screamed aloud as his entire group shot up from the chairs. A dainty girl had just picked up their friend with a single hand and flung him across the room.

"You are Jimmy Janet, right?" The girl ignored the other kids and turned straight to the elf student sitting at the head of the table.

The tall platinum blonde-haired student with sharp pointed ears furrowed his eyebrows and whispered. "What is the meaning of this, Rin Rubinstei—UM!"

A layer of ice formed on the student's mouth as the black-haired girl snapped her fingers. "Don't take my name with your mouth, asshole."

A small crowd gathered at a distance as the other kids on the table seethed in rage. Two of them closest to Rin lunged at her. One of their fists was coated with metal while the other's increased in size.

Rin fluidly stepped back and dodged. As if skating on ice, she made a beautiful arc with her legs, and a chill spread through the air. A wave of ice climbed up their toes and enclosed the two students in its warm embrace.

Without even looking at them, the girl stepped forward and kicked the table away. The table slammed against the ground and food spilled on the cafeteria floor. The other students in the cafeteria whispered and crowded as their uncertainty about the situation grew. Rin gave a glance at the crowd and hid a smile. Enough people had gathered.

"Jimmy Janet!" She spoke up, much louder than she had till now. Tapping a few buttons on the holographic screen of her watch, Rin opened a window of a brown-haired student tied up to a chair in his underwear appeared on the screen. Blood and scars filled the student's body as he stared limply at the ground. Gasps filled the room as the students looked at the screen in front of them. Jimmy's eyes widened when they landed on the picture of the student.

"Hey! That's Jimmy's right hand! Walker!"

"That bully has been beaten up like that?"

"And he could come here and eat like this."

"My god! How is something like this possible in a school like this."

"To think you would do something this heinous to a person that helped you in every part of the way," Rin continued. "As a member of the Agriche Student Council, I will be taking you in front of the autho—"

Jimmy crushed the ice that had formed in his mouth and screamed. "Rin Rubinstein! Where is Walker?!"

Vines sprouted up from the ground and shot towards Rin. She tilted her body to the sides just enough to dodge the vines by a fraction of an inch, making it look like the vines passed through her. While she was focused on the defense, Jimmy Janet had closed in on her and swung his fist at her face.

She could have dodged it. She should have dodged it.

Jimmy was well aware of the capabilities the year's Rank 2 held, he had already prepared himself to attack six or seven more times before forcing her to block. Yet, Rin moved slower than he had imagined.

Her hand raised up.

And the fist landed right on her watch, causing the holographic screen to glitch away.

Jumping back, Rin created a wide distance between herself and Jimmy, speaking up again in the same loud voice as before. "Going straight for the evidence? You've shown your true colors, Jimmy Janet."

Whispers broke out again from the crowds as Jimmy's eyes widened again. He was being played like a fiddle.

"Asking for your victim's location and attacking the evidence right away in front of all these people. Maybe I give you more credit than you are worth." Rin snorted.

"YOU! What did you do to my brother!"

Rin again spoke louder than Jimmy as she waved her hand to the side and gazed at everyone sitting at his table. "All of you chose carefully. If you step up now I'll count you as his accomplice."

Jimmy snapped around to see all his goons taking a few steps back with pale faces. He was done in and he was done in bad. His best friend that he loved like a brother had disappeared for the last two days, and now he saw him all beat up and was being accused of doing it. Frustration and anger alongside fear-filled Jimmy's mind, but there was no confusion.

There was only one person who could do something like this, and she was right in front of him.

In his anger, Jimmy could only see Rin Rubinstein. He lunged at her again as his vines appeared from all over the place, this time much sharper and faster than before.

Others could barely see the attacks as they approached Rin, from above and below, left and right, front and back, she was covered from all directions, and a faint smile hung from her lips.

"[Ice Impasse (C-)]"

A chilly breeze spread in the cafeteria.

Before anyone could blink, all the vines were frozen solid around Rin. Nothing could move anymore as the Ice blocked everything right where they stood.

Jimmy could only stare in disbelief at being completely shut down by her. Before he knew it, she was already behind him, her mouth close to his ears.

"Jimmy Janet," she whispered, her words only for him to hear. "I didn't care whatever in the world you did, but why did you have to go out and mess with my notes on the second day? Do you have any idea how hard I am working here?"

"All this... for that...—"

A sharp sound spread in the air as Jimmy fell limp to the ground after a blow on the back of his head.

"Of course, it's for that. Dumbass."

Rin glared at Jimmy's cronies and gestured at his limp body with her eyes. The students who were sitting around him a while back gulped and moved toward him, they lifted him and carried him out of the cafeteria while Rin wore a serious face and apologized to the other students in there.

She bowed and was about to leave herself when her eyes landed at the back of the crowd where a bunch of first-years were staring at her with wide eyes. She gave a short wave to the blonde youth and left the place.

Now that she had taken her revenge, Rin Rubinstein was feeling rather refreshed. A cup of tea would just fit the mood.

Leone Hendrickson returned Rin's wave in a daze as the other top-rankers of the first year stared at the leaving Rin.

"I could barely see her movements... what a monster," Leslie said while looking at Seraphina Exise.

"I didn't know there was someone that terrifying in the second years." Blaine adjusted her spectacles and flicked her hair back. "I'll have to look into this lady."

"Yeah, she's strong and pretty to boot!" Seraphina remarked. "I'd like to know her too, Blaine–Ow, ow, don't pinch my ears."

Zachary turned toward the dazed Leone. "So, you know that girl? I didn't catch her name when he shouted it out."

Leone slowly turned to Zachary and nodded. "Rin, that's Rin. She's the second year's Rank 2"

"What! Really?!" Luke excitedly shoved his head in the conversation. "So that's why..."

"Well, it's not something we should worry much about. Rin asked me to look at the kidnapped kid, she must have known about this for a while."

Leone shook his head and sighed again. "Well, I don't want to eat with you guys, so I'm leaving."

With those words, Leone picked up his plate and walked away from the group.

"Aww, meeting's over?" Seraphina puffed her cheeks. "Whatever, let's go train some!" Her group followed behind her as Seraphina waved Luke and Zachary a quick goodbye and left.

Zachary turned toward Luke and nodded. "I should get going too. Thank you for looking out for Ralph, but he'll be fine."

Luke shrugged, he couldn't say much at this point. "Sure, if you insist. Take care, then."

Zachary smiled and walked away from Luke. With everyone gone and the cafeteria settling back down, Luke looked at his food and sighed. It had gone cold. After thinking hard for a few long seconds, he decided to go get some more.

He walked toward the counter and ordered a plate of spaghetti before heading back to the same table as before. Just as he was about to dig in, his holo-pen vibrated. He pulled out the device and checked his messages, it was a text from his friend whom he hadn't seen in two days.

[Kris: Hel]

Luke snickered and texted back.

[Luke: Hello? What's up, wya?]

Leaving the text, he pushed the pen back into his pocket. She usually took a long time to answer each text. With a smile, Luke Reese dug into the spaghetti. It truly was just palatable.
