            *FLASHBACK SEQUENCE*

Shira was sitting alone with his legs dangling off the side of a abandoned building's roof, unresponsive to the commotion and chaos of a broken city. But, soon he heard some compelling sounds that made him regain awareness. He looked to the the left, where the end of the street he was looking down upon was. There, he saw a few men leading a group of captives. All of them had cables constricting their hands together, and bags over their faces. He let out a sigh.

"I'm tired of trying to play hero" he thought as he turned away. "Turning other people's problems into my own problems has never worked out for me."

Shira began to feel another consciousness' presence within him he subconsciously built an aura of shallow energy.

"Saving people is all you've done your entire life, Shira" a voice said to him. " A first responder since the age of eighteen, right?"

"Kintaro?" Shira realized. "I was hoping you'd let go of your heroic urges".

"You know enough about me to know that I couldn't, even if I tried." Kintaro replied. "And you're the same way"

"I wish I could agree" Shira said. "But my mind wasn't involved of any of my heroic actions. I never had time to think about whether I wanted to help or not."

"That's called instinct" Kintaro explained. "If you're natural reaction has always been to help others, how could you deny that?"

Shira didn't reply.

"One of the main things that binds us together in synchrony, is our habitual generosity. I've made it my life's purpose and you should too"

"What do you mean? How our are we bound together?"

"How do you think you became a koshomura if you haven't claimed one's life nor have been the sole survivor of a blood-frenzied massacre?" Kintaro replied. "If a spirit ever finds a human who's will mirrors their own, they can possess it"

"You possessed me?" Shira asked.

"For you, it seems that way. But we see it as reincarnation" Kintaro stated. "Another chance at life in a vessel suited just for us. However, without the one thing that binds us together, we will..."

"Seperate?" Shira stated.

"Yes, but, our seperation will result in death" Kintaro replied. "And since I'm a spirit, I'll just return to life as before. Before I possessed you. But since because you are a human, you won't be coming back."

"What if I died another way? A way that had nothing to do with our separation?" Shira asked.

"A spirit with a weaker will than you would die as well" Kintaro stated. "But since mine has never been fautered even in the slightest, I would survive"

Shira looked down at his hands, flowing with shallow energy.

"Well, Kintaro" Shira stated as he aimed his hand at his own heart. "I hope you keep your resolve, because I've found mine"

Kintaro's green aura surrounded Shira's own. He was aware, but couldn't move one muscle.

"I won't let you, Shira" Kintaro stated. "Like I said earlier, your conflicted feelings are weakening your will. You won't be able to suppress me like this, and I'll be controlling you."

"Damn this" Shira said as he struggled. "I can't move at all"

Shira started to resemble Kintaro more, as his muscle definition increased and his black hair turned dark green and his blue aura was replaced with Kintaro's green aura.

"I'm not quite there yet" Kintaro thought. "That means the boy still has some fight left in him. Good. I hope you'll regain your volition, Shira. But until then, I'll be taking over."

Kintaro hopped up at the sight of three guys on the roof of the buildings across from the one he was on. It was clear to him that they were doing the same thing he was. The three guys crept along the rooftops towards the building the hostages were lead into. Kintaro followed. He hopped quietly over three other buildings until the hostage building was right in front of him. He looked over to the three guys, who were in the same position. Kintaro closed his eyes and channeled his aura. Because of this, the three guys on the top of the building looked over to him directly, and gave him a nod.

            *MEANWHILE, INSIDE THE BUILDING*

Inside the building was a tall, blonde, and slender man wearing a trenchcoat with glasses. The three captives were brought before him and were forced to their knees. The man stood up and walked towards them and when he reached them, he remove the bags on their face.

"Muhan, Norin, and Masaba" the man stated as he looked down upon the three.

"T-tabuke" Masaba nervously replied. "We were just out scouting for Bumi"

"Scouting?" Tabuke asked as he started to circle around the three. "The scouting should've been completed already. This is the time for action. Making it happen."

"We're close, Tabuke" Norin stated. "We've found a way to bring Bumi directly to us. We just need more time"

"I don't think you understand the severity of this mission I've entrusted you with." Tabuke stated. "Having Bumi would make acquiring others so much more easier."

"We don't mind being plagued with a frivolous task" Muhan forcefully stated. "But perhaps you could lend a hand"

"Don't tempt him, Muhan" Masaba whispered.

"Hmmm?" Tabuke uttered as he stopped circling directly in front of Muhan.

"Say nevermind, say nevermind" Masaba quietly pleaded.

"You say having Bumi would make acquiring other koshomuras so easy, but have you thought about how easy acquiring Bumi is?" Muhan asked. "Especially for us. We take pride in being warriors, but we don't have the same abilities you do."

"So you want to be a koshomura?" Tabuke asked.

"Having one's assistance should suffice" Muhan replied.

Tabuke developed a despicable grin as he stood there, contemplating.

"Dammit, Muhan" Masaba thought. "You've made him mad"

"Fine" Tabuke stated.

"What?" Masaba thought to herself.

"I'll instruct Mioki to assist you" Tabuke stated.

"I can't believe it" Masaba stated as she let out a silent breath.

"But" Tabuke continued. "I want you to understand that if you fail once again, especially now with Mioki's assistance, there will not be any more chances. This is it."

"Thanks, Tabuke" Norin stated. "We won't fail again"

"I hope not" Tabuke stated as he put his hands in his trenchcoat pockets and walked away. "Anyway, I'll inform Mioki that she'll be joining you. Right now, I have to join Nusaru."

"I guess it has been a year since the last time" Masaba stated.

After Tabuke left the room, the three captives were freed and set on their way. The only people left there were the guards who escorted the captives into the building. It was at this moment that Kintaro busted through the top of the building.

Kintaro leaped into the center of the building.

"Hey!" One of the guards stated as they all aimed at Kintaro. "Do you know who runs this place?"

"Yeah, where is he?" Kintaro replied.

"Like I'd tell you" the guard replied.

Kintaro built his green aura.

"I was hoping you'd refuse" Kintaro exclaimed.

Kintaro rushed towards the guards. They start firing as a result. Kintaro glided through the bullets effortlessly as he rushed towards them. He grabbed one by the arm and threw him into another. Then, he leaped into the air and came down, stomping onto another. The man concealed within a robe stood, and turned towards Kintaro. Kintaro stood still for a second, looking back at him. The man removed the hood of the robe.

"Well?" He asked.

"Who are you?" Kintaro replied.

"I'm Nusaru" he replied.

"Nusaru as in...Tabuke's son?" Kintaro thought.

"When he was here, he was saying he was going to meet you" Kintaro pointed out.

"And he is" Nusaru replied. "He just doesn't know that I'm here"

"Why are you here?" Kintaro asked.

"Because I was left alone." Nusaru answered. "I wasn't left with anything but some weird, old mirror in my room. The energy it was emitting...didn't sit well with me. I wanted to get away from it. Somewhere I felt safe"

"Feel safe?" Kintaro stumbled. "You're not like us, are you?"

"Like you?" Nusaru pondered. "If you're asking if I'm a koshomura, I'm not. I don't...that's not what I'd want".

"And Tabuke doesn't want to change that?" Kintaro asked.

"Of course he does" Nusaru quickly responded. "He's always mentioning one that he wants for me but I don't remember it's name"

The three other men Kintaro was on the building with entered the room at this moment.

"Well, I suppose I'll be leaving now. He'll be expecting me to be there" Nusaru declared as he started to walk off.

"Wait a second" one of the three men exclaimed. "I feel something"

"What is it, Douma" another asked.

Suddenly, the energy in the room shifted. A distorted shallow began to flow in a corner of the room, until a mirror formed out of it.

"Damnit, it's her" Douma stated. "Master Inyo, Isobu, be careful."

A short haired woman wearing a red shirt and jean jacket began to crawl through the glass of the mirror.

"Don't look at her" Inyo stated. "And don't say her name. Don't even think about it"

"Don't listen to him" the woman stated she rose to her feet. "Those are the only fitting ways to address an adversary"

The woman started to walk towards the group. But stopped when she saw Nusaru.

"You should be glad I'm still recovering from my last mission, it's the only reason you slipped past me" she admitted. "Anyway, you're father is expecting you. So, go."

Nusaru began to walk through the mirror she came out of. But just before he was almost in, he stopped and said one thing.

"Mara, please don't kill them" Nusaru stated. "They are not a threat to you"

"Sure they're not, but I kill them all alike" Mara replied with a smirk.

"Sorry guys" Nusaru stated as he looked back one more time at the group before walking through the mirror completely.

After Nusaru left, the mirror he went through faded. Inyo, Isobu, Douma, and Kintaro were the only people left in the room.

"Kintaro" Shira stated. "This doesn't look good"

"It isn't" Kintaro replied. "This is someone that I won't be able to beat alone"

"You're not alone" Shira stated.

"I don't mean those three, Shira" Kintaro replied. "I mean me being in full possession of your body. We'd be stronger together."

"So what are we going to do?" Shira stated. "There's not a way for you to just relinquish control?"

"Are you still not getting it?" Kintaro asked. "You always trying to take the easy way out is why I can control your body now. You have to take control"

"How am I supposed to do that?" Shira stated. "You know i can't do that!"

"No" Kintaro replied. "You just haven't been put in a position to"

"What do you mean?" Shira asked. "Kintaro?"

Kintaro opened his eyes wide and looked directly into Mara's. Seeing this made her smile.

"You fool" she said with a smirk.

"Kintaro!" Shira yelled. "Stop this!"

Kintaro's shallow began to be forced out of his body as a glass portal opened in front of him. Out of the portal crawled a clone of Kintaro. The clone had glass shards protruding through his skin, blood pouring everywhere. His eyes were replaced dark spirals of glass, blood dripping from them as well.

The clone of Kintaro raised it's arm towards him, and the shallow leaking out of him started to be sucked towards it.

"Kintaro!" Shira yelled once again. "KINTARO!"

"You know the best benefit of absorbing souls?" Mara asked with a smirk. "Gaining everything that's transmitted with it. The knowledge. The memories. The abilities. Kintaro was my best catch so far."

"No, I won't let you!" Shira thought. "I won't let you take him!"

Shira's shallow began to form around Kintaro's body.
