Chapter 101: Chapter 101: The unexpected winner

And my vaction has been pushed back yet again, meaning that i had to work this week but also the next one. Will i be able to finally have my vacation ater that one? Surley... Probably... Maybe... Hopefully... I... I don´t know...

 

As Mirajane walked toward the front of the stage, the crowd cheered loudly.

Over the last two years, Mirajane had become the poster girl of Fairy Tail, something that a few people that had known her old self still could barely believe.

Mirajane waved her hand toward everyone and said, “Everyone has shown their magic, so I will do the same. Personally, I am verry skilled in transformation magic.”

And with a loud puff sound, Mirajane´s head transformed into that of Happy, stunning not only the audience but also Max and Ophiuchus.

“Face transformation! Happy!” Mirajane said proudly to the audience.

She then proceeded to transform her head into that of other members of the guild, like Gajeel, Natsu, Makarov and so on.

After finishing her display, she transformed her head back and walked toward the back of the stage, smiling brightly, seemingly having enjoyed it.

Zeldaris and Lisanna wanted to say something, but they couldn´t bring themselves to say anything, after seeing the smile that Mirajane had, not that they would have been able to find the right words in the first place.

“Well, after this rather unique display, let´s continue with our next contender. She is the younger sister of Mirajane, and like her older sister and her older brother, she also has a talent for transformation magic. So, give a big applause for, LISANNA STRAUSS.” Ophiuchus said, trying to break the awkward mood.

Lisanna looked at Zeldaris and said, “Can you help me? I need a little push to get up there.”

She pointed toward the space aboth the stage.

Zeldaris knew immediately what she meant.

“No problem. Jump!” Zeldaris said and told Lisanna to jump.

Lisanna jumped without any hesitation, pulling her legs up.

As Lisanna jumped up, Zeldaris put his left leg under her feet and put strength into his leg and sent Lisanna into the air with a powerful kick.

Lisanna gave Zeldaris a thump up and used her magic to transform herself.

Her arms turned into wings and her legs into those of a bird.

Lisanna swoped down from the sky, while spinning around and safely landed on the stage while spreading out her wings.

The crowd went wild, and Lucy and Erza starred dumbfoundedly at Zeldaris.

Zeldaris tried to hold back his laughter but still had a wide smile on his face and said, “I am allowed to help with minor things, all you have to do is ask.”

“I had never heard about this.” Lucy said in annoyance.

“Simple, she asked.” Zeldaris said.

Lucy wanted to disagree, but she didn´t, because she realized that Lisanna was the only one that had actually asked for help.

“See, you get it. Also, I won´t repeat myself again.” Zeldaris said while forming his tail and wrapping it around Lucy.

Lucy tried to free herself from the grip but was unable to even move it in the first place.

Zeldaris raised her carefully into the air and let her down away from the stage.

“I get it, I get it. Jeez... Wait? What about Erza?” Lucy asked as she noticed that Zeldaris had no plans to get Erza away from the stage.

“She is next after Lisanna and you are after Erza, so stay ready.” Zeldaris said and made his tail disappear.

Meanwhile Lisanna, transformed into different types of animals, most of them in their hybrid forms.

She ended her performance with her cat soul.

The crowd loved it.

“And next up, is another contestant that many of you have been waiting for. She is the armored mage, which carries an entire arsenal with her. The strongest woman in Fairy Tail. ERZA SCARLET!” Max announced.

Erza sighed as she heard still being called the strongest woman of the guild, but Aversia had no interest in the title and so it still belonged to Erza.

Erza closed her eyes and summoned multiple swords, which were flying in the air.

Not many people knew that Erza had telekinetic magic and believed that it was mainly the ability of the Heaven´s Wheel Armor.

The swords flew toward the stage where they begun to dance in the air.

As Erza appeared on the stage, the swords danced around her.

Erza then made the swords disappear and used her reequip magic to change her armor into a beautiful black goth lolita dress, which was covering more than most of her armors.

Needless to say, the crowd loved it and cheered louder than by any other contestant before her.

Lucy stared at this scene with wide eyes and wide-open mouth.

“Well, I don´t want to be the next contestant after such a display, but we still have a few to go through, so let´s get right to our next contestant.” Max said.

“She is one of the guilds newest members. She is the maiden that calls the celestial spirits. LUCY HEARTFILIA!”

Lucy breathed in and pulled out her whip.

“Show them what you got.” Zeldaris said.

Surprised, Lucy looked at Zeldaris, who in turn gave her a thump´s up.

Lucy nodded and jumped onto the stage, while swinging around her whip.

She was wearing a blue cheerleader outfit; she had changed at the beginning of the show.

As Lucy made her whip coil around her arm, she pulled out Virgo´s key.

“Open, gate of the maiden! Virgo!”

Virgo, in her usual maid uniform appeared beside Lucy and bowed.

“Princess, is it time for punishment?”

Zeldaris was unable to hold back his laughter and quickly covered his mouth with his hand.

As far as he knew, Virgo always had a masochistic tendency, which had caused a few awkward and yet funny situations.

Lucy held back the retort that she wanted to give Virgo and instead told her show a bit of herself.

Virgo immediately started to list her principals and her duties, which Lucy quickly interrupted and told, now more precise, to show her abilities.

Virgo nodded and tried to dig into the stage.

However, chains made out of grey flames wrapped themselves around Virgo.

“No digging holes into the stage or the guild hall. Sorry, Virgo.” Zeldaris said as he walked onto the stage.

Virgo looked at Zeldaris with her stare eyes.

“It´s been a long time, Zeldaris. I am happy to see you again, and to see that you are in good health.”

Zeldaris smiled and turned around.

“That is the only warning that I am going to give, the next time that someone tries something like that, I won´t show mercy.”

As soon as Zeldaris walked back behind the curtains and away from the stage, the chains disappeared as well, and Virgo bowed again.

Not letting her opportunity slip away, Lucy closed Virgo´s gate and summoned one spirit after the other and let them demonstrate what they can do, the end of that performance was Lyra singing a lovely song.

In the end, Lucy was satisfied with her performance and walked back with confidence.

“Our next contender is someone who believes that she is the rightful owner of the tittle ‘Queen of Fairies’. Will she be able to surpass the current Titania? Let´s find out, but first give a big applause for EVERGREEN!”

Evergreen came flying out from the curtain and flew over the heads of the audience.

Balls of light flew behind her, following every movement of hers.

After flying over everyone, Evergreen landed on the stage, the balls of light floating beside her.

Evergreen opened her fan and hold it before her face.

The crowd was impressed by this.

“Next up is probably Fairy Tails smartest member, she definitely has a way with words. But don´t just believe me, let her show you herself. Here is LEVI MCGARDEN!”

Levi stepped onto the stage with a big smile.

She used her magic and wrote multiple words into the air, all of them transformed into what the word meant.

For example, the word butterfly had multiple pairs of butterfly wings and it itself looked like countless overlapping butterfly wings.

It was definitely an interesting thing to see.

“Our last contender is the person that I am contracted to. She is one of the most powerful members of the guild and not someone that would usually attend something like that. But none the less, let´s welcome AVERSIA!”

As Aversia walked onto the stage, her eyes were closed and she had spread her arms wide, flames covering her hands.

The second that Aversia stopped at the front of the stage, she begun to slowly move in a dance.

Slowly but steadily, Aversia begun to move faster, her dance picking up speed and the flames in her hands begun to create a picture.

As the picture was almost finished, Aversia opened her golden eyes and slammed her fist into the ground, creating a flame pillar that was hiding Aversia.

Black wings emerged from the flames and with a beat of these wings, the flames dispersed, revealing Aversia.

Not only had she formed her wings, but also her horns, her tail and a few places were covered by scales.

She was also now wearing a dress that was similar to that of a belly dancer, multiple large golden rings were hanging around her arms and feet.

Aversia moved her arms quickly and the rings moved and created sound as they hit each other.

She continued her dance, but this time much faster, and the picture finished before her, two coiling dragons.

However, Aversia continued to dance and suddenly the two dragons moved as well.

They followed her movements and danced around her, following every move, and stayed intact with her rhythm, followed by the sound of the moving rings.

She pointed her arms forward making the dragons fly beyond the stage and over the heads of the audience.

There the two dragons continued their dance, coiling around themselves before returning back to Aversia.

The dragons flew around Aversia and as she finished her dance, both of them flowed beside them, kneeling before her.

Silence, neither the crowd nor Max or Ophiuchus were able to make a single sound.

Aversia turned around walked back behind the curtain, where Zeldaris was already waiting for her.

“Good work. Looks like you had fun.”

Aversia reequipped her usual outfit and tried to play cool.

However, Zeldaris did notice a small smile on Aversia´s face.

He wanted to tease her, but the crowd finally recovered and broke out in loud cheers.

Now that every contender had performed, it was up to the audience to decide who would win.

And it took them quite a while before all of them were able to decide and for Freed and Laki to go through every vote.

But as the votes had been counted, all ten contenders stood on the stage, some nervous, others confident.

And some who didn´t really care, Mirajane and Aversia.

“Now then, the votes have been counted and it has been a close race between two contenders. These two being Erza and Aversia.”

As Max announced this, Erza stood forward, and a surprised Aversia did the same shortly after.

As for the other eight, well…

Lucy was sad that the rent money was gone, Evergreen was completely shocked.

Cana was a bit sad that she didn´t get her drinking money but got immediately over it as Zeldaris told her that drinks were on him.

Mirajane, Lisanna, Juvia, and Levi didn´t care about it, they had done it mostly for fun.

“And the winner by only one vote is…. AVERSIA” Ophiuchus said, and confetti flew through the air.

“Eh?” was all that Aversia managed to say.

The crowd applauded and Erza congratulated Aversia, who was confused and was unable to process this.

Zeldaris on the other hand, was laughing his ass off.

Needless to say, he would tease her with that for a long time.

 

AND THE WINNER BY A SINGLE VOTE IS AVERSIA! I will be honest, I didn´t expect that at all.

But none the less, thank you for everyone that voted.

The second place goes of course to Erza.

Third goes to Cana.

And Mirajane and Levi share the fourth place.

Also, god dammit this took longer than expected, thought that i would be able to finish the parade in this chapter too, but aperently not.
