Chapter 120: Chapter 114: Difficult decision

“[Dark Capriccio]”

A beam of darkness was fired from Brain´s staff and flew toward Wendy.

“WENDY!!!” Natsu yelled as he noticed what Brain was doing.

Using the moment where Natsu´s attention was diverted, Cubellios wrapped her tail around Natsu´s legs and made him fall onto the ground.

As soon as Natsu noticed that he was falling, he instinctively covered his legs with his flames.

“I don´t have time for this, you stupid snake!” Natsu yelled.

Burned by the flames, Cubellios let go of Natsu as fast as possible but still suffered heavy burns from the flames.

As soon as the snake let go of him, Natsu sprung up and jumped toward Wendy, trying to save her.

However, Erza was faster.

After dealing with Cobra, Erza had her eyes on Brain and quickly ran toward him, only to see how he pointed his staff at Wendy and fired his spell.

Erza used her magic to equip her Flight Armor.

The Flight Armor was less of an actual armor and more of an attire with a few parts with cheetah characteristics.

This armor increased Erza´s speed tremendously and allowed her to quickly get between Wendy and the beam of darkness.

Erza summoned one of the two shields of her Adamantine Armor.

Although the shield could only show its true power when both sides were combined, the toughness of each piece shouldn´t be underestimated.

So, blocking Brain´s spell wasn´t a problem for it at all.

Erza also summoned one of the two swords that belonged to the Flight Armor.

As for Wendy, the attack had taken her by surprise, and froze for a moment.

However, as Erza blocked the attack, Wendy snapped out and jumped away while also using her magic to help both Erza and Natsu.

“O strengthen of the arm to cleave the heavens [Arms]”

A magical aura covered both Erza´s and Natsu´s arms.

Erza leaned forward and switched her shield with the second sword of the armor, she then ran quickly toward Brain.

Natsu also ran toward Brain.

“NO!!! I WON´T LET YOU!!!” Cobra yelled; his body was covered with cuts from Erza´s attack.

Purple scales grew rapidly on Cobra´s arms and his hands became claws.

“[Poison Dragon´s Scales]”

Cobra slashed repeatedly with his claws, sending a large number of scale-shaped masses of poison flying toward both Erza and Natsu.

Both Natsu and Erza were surprised by the attack, when both of them saw Cobra´s arms they were reminded of Laxus.

But just as quickly as they thought about Laxus, they focused back on Brain and the incoming attacks.

Erza was able to dodge the attacks, mostly thanks to the effect of her armor.

Natsu had a harder time dodging the attacks and halfway decided to try and burn the poison with his flames.

Testing his idea out, Natsu unleashed his flames onto the masses of poison and surprisingly, the flames managed to burn the poison away.

However, the steam from the evaporating poison was just as potent as the masses of poison.

Natsu inhaled the steam, and the poison quickly took effect, causing Natsu a lot of pain.

But even then, Natsu simply bit through the pain and continued onward.

Meanwhile, Brain had stopped his spell and was now targeting Erza, trying to cast Dark Capriccio again.

However, even with the incoming attacks from Cobra, Erza quickly arrived before Brain.

“[Sonic Slash]”

Erza increased her speed yet again and rushed past Brain while slashing him multiple times with her swords.

“AHHHRGG!” Brain screamed while multiple cut wounds appeared on his body.

Erza stopped behind Brain and changed her armor again.

“[Requip: Purgatory Armor]”

The Purgatory Armor was a black armor that was covered in spicks and was by far the most dangerous-looking armor that Erza had.

The weapon that belonged to that armor was a combination of a mace and a great sword.

It was larger than Erza herself, one side was sharpened while the other had six large spikes and a hook at the end.

With only one hand Erza moved the giant weapon, her muscles bulged as she put all of her strength into the following attack.

Erza swung the weapon with all of her might toward Brain, who had just enough time to turn around.

The weapon hit him straight on and sent him flying.

The impact of the attack had also broken many of Brain´s bones and his inner organs had been injured as well.

Seeing how Brain was sent flying, Natsu strengthened his legs with magic power and enveloped them with his flames, and jumped into the air, his flames also propelling him upward.

“TAKE THIS!!! [Fire Dragon´s Iron Fist]”

Natsu´s flaming fist hit Brain straight in the face and sent the leader of Oración Seis toward the ground.

But before Brain crashed into the ground, the ground moved like a liquid and softly caught Brain.

From the ground, Hoteye emerged, Angel right beside him.

Both of them had slight injuries on them.

“It seems that we have underestimated our opponents a little.” Angel said while Hoteye said something about getting his bounty at a later point.

Racer also appeared out of nowhere, the chain of light was no longer around his neck.

“Although I want to finish this as fast as possible, we should get back and rethink our approach.”

Cobra, Cubellios, and Midnight also joined the others.

Brain looked furiously at the mages of the alliance.

“This is not over, it won´t be long before we find Nirvana, and then we will show you true despair.” Brain said and with a wave of his staff, he and the other members of Oración Seis disappeared.

Erza sighed and switched back to her normal armor, she looked around to see how the situation of the others was.

Natsu had just landed on the ground, Happy had caught him in the air and slowly brought him down.

The poison was still affecting Natsu, but Wendy was already rushing toward him.

Gray and Lyon were lying on the ground, the two had gone up against Racer multiple times, only for him to dodge everything that they threw against him and shortly after pummel both of them with a barrage of kicks and punches.

Anna had helped the two with the chain around Racer´s neck.

But Anna wasn´t able to do much more, because of the constant fire of Angel´s spirit, the spirit also managed multiple times to destroy the chain multiple times with precise attacks, forcing Anna to recast the spell multiple times.

(AN: I apologize for the cheap shot that I am about to do.)

The members of Blue Pegasus, Sherry, and Lucy had been trapped by Hoteye in the liquified ground, they had tried to escape by using their respective magic but to no avail.

Happy had tried to free Lucy by pulling her out, but he was only able to pull her out a bit.

After trapping the six people, Hoteye had gone against Jura.

Surprisingly, both of them ended up in a stalemate because both of them used earth magic and were the opposite of each other.

Jura´s magic hardened the earth, while Hoteye´s made it soft.

In the end, Hoteye retreaded to save Brain from crashing into the ground, he took Angel with him.

Currently, Jura was getting the stuck people free.

“Well, we were not able to smell the sweet aroma of the perfume of victory, but we also didn´t smell the bittersweet smell of the presume of defeat.” Ichiya said after Jura got him and the others out, everyone had gathered in the mansion again and were now planning their next steps.

Erza didn´t listen, after the battle, she sunk into deep thoughts and didn´t react to the others.

Natsu had been healed of the poison by Wendy and was as good as new, and ready to go after the members of Oración Seis.

“Agreed, but luckily none of us have received major injuries. But with the damages to Christina, we can no longer follow our original plan. So, let´s decide how we will move from now.”

“I say we follow them to the forest and fight them again, this time we will defeat them for sure.” Natsu suggested, but nobody listened to him.

“We could wait for our reinforcements, as far as we know, both Zeldaris and Aversia are on their way here and will arrive here in the evening at the least.” Gray said, Hibiki and Jura nodded at his proposal.

Wendy smiled as she heard that her eldest siblings were on their way here.

“Natsu, are they really coming here?” Wendy asked Natsu.

Natsu looked at Wendy for a moment before smiling as well, patting Wendy on the head, and said, “Yup, both of them are on their way here, but I am going to defeat all of them before they get here.”

Wendy´s smile became even bigger, from all her siblings, Wendy had the strongest bond with Zeldaris and Aversia.

“Would you please keep your hands away from Wendy.” Carla said toward Natsu, Happy was trying again to gain her attention.

“It is true that if they arrived, they would be by far the most powerful members of our group, however, I am not sure that we even have the time to wait for them.” Jura said with a troubled face.

“Can you elaborate a bit?” Hibiki asked although he had an idea what Jura meant.

“I believe that the members of Oración Seis are going to focus on their search for Nirvana, they said that they had their ways to find it even without Jellal. If we were to wait for Zeldaris and Aversia to arrive, then it might be already too late. That is a risk that, in my opinion, we can not take.” Jura explained.

“Both perfumes have their strong point, but we can only choose one of them.” Ichiya said.

Everyone else agreed with Ichiya, they had to decide here and now.

“Then we shouldn´t sit around and wait for the two. Oración Seis had already spent a lot of time here, there is no way for us to say how much of the forest they had already gone through. We should not and can not waste any time waiting, we need to act now.” Erza said with a firm tone.

Erza had pondered about Brain´s words and Jellal but had decided that it no longer made sense to think about it, Jellal was dead and there was nothing that could change that.

She had to focus on the here and now and that meant taking the fight to Oración Seis.
