Chapter 127: Chapter 121: Rise of Nirvana

Hoteye, not realizing that the three were not able to listen to what he had to say, explained what Brain´s plan was with Nirvana.

“However, this is not the limit of Nirvana. It can also change those that aren´t wavering in their hearts. But to use that power, Nirvana has to be fully unsealed, and his first targets will be the members of the Cait Shelter guild.”

This last part managed to get into Jura´s ears and Jura partly snapped out of his shock and asked, “Why the members of the Cait Shelter guild? What do they have to do with Nirvana?”

This question also got the interest of Lyon and Cherry.

“Simple, they are the descendants of the Nirvit tribe, who had constructed Nirvana more than four hundred years ago. Brain wants to turn them and force them to operate and perform maintenance on Nirvana while also teaching him to fully control the thing.”

That was not good news, but it also made a lot of sense about the Cait Shelter guild, which until recently had been completely unknown to anyone.

Granted there were many guilds that barely anyone knew about, let alone those that are trying to get officially acknowledged by the council.

But even under these circumstances, it was quite suspicious that nobody had even heard of Cait Shelter before as if it had just appeared from nowhere.

“We need to hurry back and meet with the others.” Jura said toward Lyon and Cherry.

“Then let me help you. Using my magic, we would arrive much faster.” Hoteye suggested.

Jura and the other two weren´t sure if they should take him up on that offer, hell, they couldn´t even decide if they could trust him.

Maybe all of this was just an elaborate trap to trick them?

But before they could think about it, a message from Hibiki arrived and asked them to move toward the pillar of light as fast as possible.

“Good, then change of plans, we will head straight toward the pillar.” Jura said and looked at Hoteye, who looked back, looking completely innocent as if he would never hurt a fly.

 

Back to Natsu and the others, they were running toward the origin of the pillar.

Wendy had used her enchantment Vernir to increase everyone’s speed.

Ichiya had done the same with one of his perfumes.

Anna carried lucy, it shouldn´t take long before she would wake up again.

“Hibiki! How long do you think it will take for Brain to solve the seal on Nirvana.” Erza asked as she cut down the trees in front of her with Mugetsu-Ryu, Ikagura´s sword.

Natsu burned away those that fell in their way.

“Depends. There are many things to consider, the type of seal and how familiar Brain would be with it. Best case scenario, days, worst case scenario, minutes.” Hibiki said while monitoring the surroundings with his magic.

Erza narrowed her eyes.

“Then we need to assume the worst and reckon that at any moment Nirvana will be unleashed.”

Everyone else agreed with Erza´s statement and would soon be proven right.

The ground began to shake violently, the animals fled in panic, and even the flow of magic power was being disturbed.

“EVERYONE TAKE COVER!” Erza yelled.

The shaking became worse and worse until the ground cracked open and a massive thing emerged from the ground.

A massive round body that was bigger than the town Magnolia, supported by three massive legs on each side.

An ancient city lying on its back was Nirvana the moving city of the Nirvit tribe.

And as the ancient city emerged from the ground, Natsu and the others fell onto one of the legs that emerged, holding on for dear life.

But as the city and its legs started to stand up, it became more and more difficult to hold onto the stones out of which the leg was made of.

Erza rammed a sword into it, holding onto it with all of her strength.

Gray used his ice maker magic to create a platform that was attached to it, while also trying to increase its size so that everyone else could get onto it as well.

Natsu and Wendy were carried by Carla and Happy, while Anna created multiple chains of light that she connected with the leg.

The members of Blue Pegasus managed to land either on Gray´s ice platform or get a hold of the chains of light.

After Nirvana had fully emerged from the ground and was now standing at its full height, which was far higher than any building in the kingdom.

Erza and the others had been rather lucky, they were at the upper part of the leg, not too far away where it was attached to the main body of Nirvana.

“We should reach the end before the thing starts to move.” Erza said and summoned a second sword and rammed it into the leg.

“Shouldn´t be too difficult. [Ice Maker: Ice Stairs]” Gray said and created a stairway made of ice.

Erza looked at the staircase and nodded.

She let go of one of the swords and started to move her body to build up movement.

She used the momentum and jumped onto the staircase, landing safely and steadily onto the stairs.

Hibiki, Ren, and Eve were speechless, one mistake, and Erza would have missed and fallen onto her death, and to top it all off, she did it while wearing her usual armor.

“What are you looking at hurry up and move, we don´t have the time.” Erza said and walked up the stairs.

Carla shook her head; it seemed like everyone from Fairy Tail was somewhat crazy.

Carla and Happy brought Wendy and Natsu onto the stairs and helped Hibiki and the others onto them as well.

Anna simply created a staircase using her light shields until she reached the ice stairs.

As they continued to walk on the ice stairs, everyone looked around to see how high they were and to have a good look at Nirvana, however, they had to be careful, the wind at such a height was strong and if they weren´t careful could make them fall.

To say that it was gigantic was an understatement, no one could imagine how a civilization from more than four hundred years ago was able to build something like that, even for the council something like that seemed impossible.

“Phew, finally there… So, how do we get up there?” Natsu asked as they arrived at end of the leg.

Everyone went up the stairs and quickly arrived at the back of Nirvana where the ruins of the Nirvit tribe were.

As everyone marveled at the ruins, Lucy began to stir and mumble things.

Realizing that Lucy was about to wake up, Anna lied her down and waited.

Lucy´s eyelids slowly opened, and a dozy Lucy looked at Anna and then at everyone else.

“Mhm… Aunt Anna… What happened… I remembered that spell that we cast but I don´t remember anything after we finished the chant.” Lucy said as she stood up, holding her head with one hand as she tried to remember what happened.

Anna smiled warmly and hugged Lucy.

“It´s no wonder that you don´t remember anything, that spell takes a huge burden on the body of the caster. You were already heavily injured, so the burden had been simply too much for you.” Anna said.

Feeling a bit embarrassed by the sudden hug, Lucy hesitated at first before hugging her aunt back.

But as the two continued to hug each other, the ground quacked strongly and Natsu went pale and held his hand before his mouth.

Seeing Natsu´s reaction Wendy, Erza, and Gray knew what it meant, and Nirvana had begun to move.

At the center of the city, on top of a large temple, Brain, Midnight, and Cobra stood before the interface that controlled the ancient city.

“The might of Nirvana is finally under my control, know there is nothing that can stop us!” Brain yelled and laughed.

Cobra smiled, not only had they achieved their goal and had now the might of Nirvana under their control, but he could also hear how his prey had just entered the ruins.

“They are here, Brain.” Cobra said and looked in the direction where Natsu and the others were.

Brain smiled as well.

“Good, then it is time to deal with these insects. Midnight it is time for you to wake up.” Brain said and gently shook the young boy on the flying carpet.

Midnight slowly opened his red eyes and looked at Brain.

“Good morning, father.”

Brain opened his mouth to give his instruction to Midnight, however, a red signal suddenly appeared on the interface.

Warning… Warning… Magic signatures of two dragons have been detected…  Repeat, the magic signature of two dragons has been detected… Distance, 10 kilometers… Getting closer at high speed…

Analyzing magic signature… Analyzing… Analyzing…

The three men looked at the messages of the interface with a blank expression.

‘Dragons… They exist?’ Cobra asked himself, he became a dragon slayer through the implantation of a lacrima and had thought that dragons were simply a product of legends, nothing more.

As the alarm rang through the entire ruin, Natsu, Wendy, and Anna had no doubt who it was that was approaching.

“Looks like they arrived just in time, TO STEAL ALL OF THE FUN!!!” Natsu yelled.

Natsu continued to complain.

Erza finally figured it out as well as she saw Natsu complaining.

Lucy, Carla, Happy, and Gray were rather confused and had no idea who it was and why Natsu suddenly complained.

“What do they mean with dragons? Twin calamities? Oh, I don´t like those descriptions.” Lucy said worriedly, afraid that something like the incident with Acnologia would repeat, if not worse.

Wendy started to smile brightly and looked up, waiting eagerly for her siblings to arrive.

Defense perimeters have been set to maximum shields have been deployed… Anti-dragon protocol is fully functional…

And just after this message had been broadcasted, the clouds parted away as a giant pillar of grey flames descended onto the ancient city.

But before the flames of chaos could reach the city, a large shield blocked the attack.

Brain, Cobra, and Midnight had become completely pale, even through that shield they could feel the power of the flames and the sheer bloodlust in which they had been drenched.

Lucy, Happy, and Gray had finally realized who it was that had arrived and smiled, the cavalry had arrived.

Ichiya, Hibiki, Ren, and Eve were shocked, they knew these flames and whom they belonged to, what shocked them so much was the power behind it.

Meanwhile, Carla could only stare completely baffled at what she saw.

Anna and Wendy had told her much about Zeldaris and Aversia, however, Carla had simply thought that the two were exaggerating.

While the flames continued to besiege the shield of the city, something else emerged from the clouds and quickly flew toward one of the legs of Nirvana.

I added a security sistem to Nirvana because it wouldn´t make sense otherwise. That thing was active in a time where dragons were still rulling over the planet. Granted, Ishgar was one of the safest places. But still, I don´t believe that they at least didn´t install any protocols against dragons, especially against Challot and Emrissen, the two dragons that earned their nickname through blood. I swear that i will go into how they aquired it one day, but not today. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
