Everyone, except Aversia, could only stare in shock at the crumbling demon.

“NO! NOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” yelled Leon as he saw as everything, he worked for three long years became nothing, his dream of surpassing his teacher Ur, turning into dust.

Zeldaris gave Leon no second glance, Gray had to take care of Leon.

Natsu, Happy, Lucy and Gray were celebrating, thinking that they had finished a S-class request and that they would be promoted to an S-class mage.

However, their celebration was cut short when they noticed the death glares that Erza, Aversia and Zeldaris were giving them.

“Crap, I forgot we are still going to get punished!” said Lucy in fright.

“That too, but you guys are forgetting something. The request is still not completed.” said Erza slowly, shocking the four.

“But Deliora is dead, so the curse should be gone too, right?” asked Lucy.

“Sorry to burst your bubble but Deliora had nothing to do with the curse.” said Zeldaris.

“Wait does that mean…”

“Yep, that almost everything you did until now was pointless and that you are back to square one.” answered Aversia while laughing.

“But… But… Moon Drip… Deliora… That had to be it.” stammered Natsu.

“Well, Moon Drip had something to do with it. The ritual itself and Deliora were not the cause for it. I mean Leon and his group had been exposed to the light of Moon Drip for all this time and they were not affected. The same goes for Deliora, since Leon and his group were always near the demon.” explained Zeldaris.

“That is true. Me and the others had been exposed to the light of Moon Drip for all this time and we weren´t affected by it. Also, if you ask me, you should question the villagers. They are definitely hiding something. Because they never came to the temple to investigate us.”

Natsu looked angrily at Leon and said.” And why should we believe you? You almost killed all of them and destroyed the village.”

Natsu continued to talk like this until Erza hit Natsu on the head to make him shut up, the fact that Natsu slammed onto the ground was of no interest to her or the half dragons.

“Leon, let me ask you a question about your followers. Except that Zarti guy, all of them were survivors of Deliora´s rampages, right?”

“Yeah, that´s correct. Every single one of them had lost friends and family to that demon. The only exception would be Zarti, he only joined recently and was always a bit odd. Now, if you don´t mind and just leave already.”

The group left the cave and walked back to the temporary camp.

Gray took one last look at the molten ice that flowed into the ocean, he knew that Ur would live on in the ocean.

He also spoke a bit more with Leon, before leaving the cave.

After they arrived at the camp, one of the villagers came running toward them, telling them to follow him back to the village.

What they saw was quite the surprise, but a welcome one, because the whole village was back to normal.

As if time itself had been turned back, Zeldaris and Aversia noticed the remains of magical power and knew that it was Zarti that restored the village.

Why? That was not clear, and they were not really interested to know his reasons.

The chief of the village sat before the tombstone of his dead son, happy to see that it also returned back to normal.

“Mages are you the ones who returned the village back to normal?” asked the chieftain while still looking at the gravestone.

“No. That wasn´t our doing.”

“Then tell me. When are you going to destroy the moon, like I ask you?”

The chieftain had blamed the moon for this from the verry beginning and had asked the group to destroy it multiple times.

“Destroying the moon won´t be a problem. But before that, I would like to confirm something. Would you please gather everyone.” said Erza.

“She is saying something outrageous like it is nothing.”

“Aye.”

It didn´t take long for everyone to gather at the front of the village.

“Now then, I would like to get some things straight. All of you gain this appearance when the purple moon appears, right?”

“That is correct.”

“And from what you told us, this happened first around three years ago?”

“That seems about right. It is not easy to tell which day or month it is, the weather doesn´t really change much here.”

“That´s ok, I believe you. But the ritual for Moon Drip had been held daily for around the same time on this island.” Erza started to walk while talking.

“You should have been seeing a ray of light at the ruins every day. KYAH!!!” Erza continued until she stepped into a certain pitfall that was there for some reason and fell into it while screaming in a girlish way.

The pitfall was Lucy´s creation and attempt to catch Sherry, Tobi and another guy called Yuka.

Needles to say it didn´t work.

Everyone just stared dumbfoundedly at the pitfall, while Lucy was in despair.

Zeldaris and Aversia were also dumbfounded, this was the first time that they saw a girlish reaction from Erza, not that Aversia was much better.

Erza climbed out of the pitfall, as if nothing happened and continued to talk.

“Meaning that the temple was the most suspicious place on the island. Which leaves the question, why didn´t any of you try investigate it?”

“That´s because it is an old tradition to not get near that temple.” said the chieftain, the other villagers were discussing with one another or thinking.

“But… That doesn´t make sense. The situation was dire, some of you even died and the reward money is quite high, not to mention the zodiac key.” added Lucy.

“Can you please tell us the truth?”

The chieftain thought for a moment before sighing and saying.

“To be completely honest with you, we have no idea what is going on. We tried multiple times to investigate the ruins. We took some weapons and headed to the ruins, but we were unable to get even close to them. Every time we walked toward them, we would sooner or later end up before the village gate. No matter how many times we tried, the result was the same. We just cannot get close to those ruins.”

Erza, Zeldaris and Aversia slightly smiled as they heard that.

Natsu and the others were confused and shocked.

The other villagers explained that they didn´t tell them, because they thought that they wouldn´t believe them and that they tried almost daily to get there.

“Then it is just as we suspected.” said Erza.

Not to far away from the village Zarti was sitting on a tree branch, the right side of his face was swelling from Natsu´s attack.

“She really is amazing that Titania. She and those two half dragons had already figured everything out.”

Erza used her magic to equip her giant armor, a golden armor with white fur at the edges.

This armor greatly enhances the throwing ability of the user.

“Natsu come with me, we are going to destroy the moon.”

Natsu became really excited, while everyone else was doubtful.

“Sorry but denied. [Open gate of the snake charmer: Ophiuchus]” said Aversia and summoned Ophiuchus.

Ophiuchus appeared in her normal form right before the eyes of the villagers.

“FIRE AT WILL!” yelled Aversia.

Ophiuchus knew what she meant and opened her mouth while looking toward the sky.

Green energy gathered inside her mouth and became stronger with every second.

“SNAKE CANON!” yelled Ophiuchus as she fired a giant energy beam from her mouth.

The beam quickly flew into the sky and shattered it.

The purple sky shattered and revealed the normal night sky.

“What happened!” yelled Natsu, he had no idea what was going on.

“You see, the island was covered by a layer of crystallized magic.” answered Erza, she had already equipped her normal armor again.

“A Layer?”

“Think of it as exhaust fumes produced by the Moon Drip ritual. They rose into the sky where they crystallized and created a layer upon the island. Which is why the moon was purple.”

The land and the villagers began to glow with bright light.

“Now that the layer has been destroyed, the land and the people will return to their normal form.”

As the light subsided, everyone could see that nothing changed, neither the land nor the villagers had changed one bit.

The villagers became nervous, while Natsu and the others were shocked out of their minds.

“This is their normal appearance. The layer had not affected their appearance but their memory. These people were from the beginning demons.”

These words shocked everyone.

“After losing their memories they thought that they were humans, because they had the ability to transform into them, but at night they are forced back into their original form. Thus, making them believe that they were cursed. Also, if you are wondering, yes it also had an effect on Leon and his crew, but all it did was make them more aggressive and more brutal. Although that is not an excuse for their actions. As for our demonic friends, my theory is that they are similar to Mirajane.” explained Zeldaris.

“HOW THE HELL IS MIRAJNE EVEN SIMILAR TO THEM!” yelled Lucy.

“You probably don´t know because you are new to the guild, but Mirajane has demon blood running through her veins. However, it is not strong enough to alter her appearance. The villagers on the other side are people that have been corrupted over multiple generations by demonic energy, by what exactly I don´t know but that is also of not important. But they still can transform into a human form. So, in short Mirajane is similar to them, just at the other side of the spectrum.”

“No… no way… Mirajane…”

It seemed like this information was a bit too much for Lucy to handle.

“Then the reason why they can´t approach the ruins is because?”

“Because they are beings of darkness, who cannot approach things that radiate holy magic.”

“Amazing. I was right in leaving it in your hands.” said a demon that appeared out of nowhere.

This was the sailor that brought Lucy, Natsu, Gray and Happy on to the island and suddenly disappeared as they were close to it, only to be swept on shore by a giant wave.

“Bo-Bobo.” said the chieftain, tears started to fill his eyes.

Because this demon was the supposed dead son of the chieftain.

“Hahaha. We demons wouldn´t die just because we were stabbed in the chest once or twice.” laughed Bobo.

He explained that he regained his memories for some reason and left the island, because he was the only one who regained them.

He was too scared of everyone, because all of the, thought that they were humans and would attack him again.

When Gray asked him how he disappeared from the boat.

Bobo quickly jumped into the air and unfolded his wings; he was so fast that it looked like he disappeared.

The chieftain unfolded his wings as well and flew into the air and hugged his beloved son, tears flowing from his eyes.

The other villagers did the same and surrounded their friend.

“An island of demons, huh.” said Erza.

“They look more like angels than demons.” answered Natsu.

Afterwards, the villagers celebrated through the night with a giant feast, of course everyone took part of it.

Gray even got laid with a couple of them, something that he would later regret, because Aversia and Zeldaris would tease him a lot for it.

Meanwhile, Zarti had a crystal ball beside him, through which he was talking with someone.

“Did you get all of that?”

“Yes, I saw everything. But tell me, why did you repair the village?”

“For the favor that they did for us.” Zarti said while grinning and giving a thumbs up.

“If you say so, but they did better than expected. Fairy Tail hopefully they won´t get in our ways, it would be shame to crush them.”

Zarti took of his mask and his body started to release mist.

As the mist subsided it revealed the body of a woman, one of the members of the council Ultear.

“I agree.”
