Chapter 1: fallen hero oneshot

There was once a prophecy that was made by the gods. They said “a great evil is going to be born but with it a hero all righteous and holy will appear to defeat the evil.” The gods were not wrong. Fire plagued the earth and a black dragon that felt like a mix of the world's evils happened only twenty years later. Thus the hero was born. The hero, a young man named Cain appeared and also the owner of the sacred spear came and fought the monster.

In a bright giant stone cavern, there was a huge torn black body of a dragon. All around the body was black blood and a tattered kneeling man. The man wore silver armor that looked like it would have been holy if not for the fact that it had giant claw marks and was burnt in places. He had short white hair that was slowly turning black and blue eyes that had red encroaching in them. In his hands, there was a pure white spear that had flakes of the white fall off and the spear turned black, he was the hero Cain. an echo of footsteps came from the entrance of the cave and they stopped infront of Cain. Cain slowly looked up to see his benefactor the god of time. The god of time with her blue hair and hourglasses floating around her said “Hero Cain you have fulfilled your duty. Unfortunately, as you can tell you have been corrupted by the evil from the dragon.”

Cain whispered “I know I don’t have much time left but can you do anything to stop this outcome.”

“As the god of time, I will use my authority and life to send a message of your desire to your past self. This is your last chance use this wisely.” Cain said his message passing on his knowledge of how the evil in the corpse will corrupt everything and that he should find a way to either destroy or seal the evil. Just as Cain was saying the final part, he coughed up black blood which added to the pool underneath him. The god then asked “Is that all you are going to say for the message?” 

“No, i need to pass on my spear arts. I need to be strong so this doesn’t happen again!”

The god agreed and let Cain add his arts. Cain put out his spear infront of him and turned it towards himself and said his final words “My past self do not fail, the world needs the evil to be destroyed completely otherwise what we did will all be for naught.” Cain then plunged his spear in his chest and made a magic burst completely destroying his heart.

A young teenager with white hair and blue eyes was working on a field of crops as he was suddenly urged to go to the forest. Following that urge he then walked until he found a small cave between the trees. Walking in the cave Cain then snapped out of the trance and looked around. He then thought ‘Why am i here i was working in the field, also why am i getting an urge to continue?’ 

He continued walking until he found a cavern with a hole in the ceiling passing light onto the center of the cavern. In the center there was a pure white spear about 6.5 ft (2 meters) long embedded in stone. He walked up and pulled the spear out of the stone. When the spear was finally out of the stone a bright light appeared and he saw a woman with blue hair and hourglasses floating around her appear above the stone. She looked tired and after she landed she fell towards Cain. Cain broke out of his stupor and caught her. The woman weakly said “I have come to pass a message to you from your future self.” Cain llooked at hear confused and said “first of all are you alright, and what is your name?” The woman than got up with his help and said in a stronger voice “I am the god of time and due to the request of your future self, I have come to deliver a message.” Cain was shocked and tried to kneel to her but she said “no need to kneel but i don’t have to much time left so just listen to the message i have.” A thin screen made of light appeared and it showed his future self. By the end of the message he was determined to destroy the evil that plauges the world. After he heard the final part she gave him a thick book and said “this is the spear arts you used and it is your final gift.” she started glowing and when it hit it’s peak she turned into a giant pillar of light going through the hole in the roof of the cavern. When he walked back through the cave and went outside there were knights approaching him. They asked “are the you the Hero and do you have proof?” Cain nodded and showed them his holy spear. The knights kneeled and said they will take him to the king so he can start his journey.

 

Two years later. Cain finally reached the cave where the evil dragon lives. Cain walked into the cave with determination. Cain has prepared a lot for this day. He wore the armor given to him by the gods and he has the spell to destroy the evil from the dragon. Cain walked into the cave and after around ten minutes of walking the cave was getting wider.  Right as he got in, he jumped to the left as a giant black tail was swung at him, shaking the cave dropping giant stones everywhere. After he landed he ran up to the giant dragon in the middle. He thrust his spear into the belly of the dragon but it could not penetrate that deep before he had to dodge a claw coming his way. He tried to circle around it as he went to the back of the dragon where he stabbed the tendon on the back right leg. The spear went straight through as he rapidly thrust his spear on the weak point of the dragon’s leg. The dragon swung it’s tail again as he blocked it by holding his spear vertically. Cain was thrown across the cave and hit the wall hard. He got up but stumbled a bit as his armor had a small dent in it due to the impact. He ran as he saw the dragon taking a deep breath as it prepared to do it’s dragon’s breath. He rolled behind one of the giant stones that fell earlier right before a giant sea of black flame engulfed his surroundings. After the flames stopped he heard the dragon charging toward his position as fast as it can with an injured back leg. He waited until the dragon got close and then he moved out of the way and went to the left side of the dragon as he ran up its tail to it’s back. He stabbed the dragon with his spear and kept on running up as it left a giant wound behind him. The dragon roared in pain so loud it shook his eardrums making him it so he can’t hear anymore. When he was on the head of the dragon he stabbed the side of its face while jumping off, as he dodged a claw that came his way. He pulled out his spear and slid under the dragon’s head as he stabbed it right in its throat and left before it could smash him. As he was retreating the dragon got a hit with it’s claws as it took his left arm. Cain crying out in pain stumbled and crashed into the ground as he looked at the dying dragon. The dragon despite dying was trying to get closer so it could kill him with one last attack. Cain used his spear as support as he picked himself up and got ready to throw his spear with all of his might. He waited for the dragon to get closer so he would not miss. The dragon seeing it’s chance charged forwards with no regard for its injuries. Cain threw his spear so hard it turned into a blur as it impaled itself right in the eye of the dragon. The dragon fell over and it died shaking the floor as more of the cave started to collapse. Cain reached under his armor and ripped off part of his shirt and used it to bandage the remainder of his left arm. He walked up to the corpse of the dragon his hand outreached, and started chanting his spell so he can remove the evil once and for all. The evil was so strong that even while saying the spell it was slowly corrupting him. His hand started glowing as the dragon lit up as the corpse started to flake and turn to dust. When the light hit its peak and his spear was half black, a giant pillar of light emerged signifying that the dragon has been purified. Cain stumbled towards the entrance and when he finally left he headed towards the nearest pond. In his reflection, Cain could see that his hair was half black and he had one red eye. Cain headed towards the capital as he needed to tell the king the news. As he arrived at the capital he noticed that people were not cheering or praising him but there was fear in their eyes. Cain thought that it was only natural as his body as already been half corrupted and the bottom half of his spear is not holy anymore. When he got to the castle some medics patched up the part of his left arm that is still left. 20 minutes later he was kneeling before a fat short old man on a throne but even the old man can’t hide the trace amounts of fear in his eyes. Cain announced, “King i have defeated the evil dragon and the evil has been purged!” the King said “what about the darkness in your spear and body, that is not purged?” “King this is just the remnant of the evil that is left it will go away when i die in the future.” “Cain the populace is afraid of the evil dragon but now someone stronger than the evil dragon has killed it. They are now afraid of you because of your power and the traits of evil you have gained In such a predicament I ask you to leave my kingdom before anything happens to you.” Cain shocked that he was basically being banished said “but my king i will never do anything to hurt people!” the king just sat there and called the guards over to take Cain away. Cain who is already half corrupted dealing with all of the evil from the dragon just had his trust betrayed making him slip up as the corruption started spreading again. The light on his spear slowly started to flake off under his hand. It started spreading even further when all he saw in the eyes of the guards were fear. He could tell they don’t think of him as a hero but as a monster who inherited the evil dragon. When they noticed that his spear and hair started to turn even more black, with his blue eye turning red they turned around and ran away. The king saw this and started yelling for guards but it was too late as the hero no monster started screaming in every evil emotion imaginable. The monster killed everything in the castle before it breifly woke up from its berserk state. Cain could not comprehend what he has done, so he did the only thing he know he should. He flipped his spear and plunged it in his heart taking the rest of the evil and his life.
