Aurora felt that using words to deal with aristocrats was a waste of time.
If what you say does not follow what they want to hear, then it's considered unacceptable. Then, the only thing left is to show them you aren't someone they can easily mess with.
That's why, when dealing with aristocrats who annoy her, she will not longer bother using her words to convince them.
"YOU!!" Yulia screamed at the top of her lungs.
It wasn't due to the pain she felt, but for fear that her life in high society was over. Once a scar marked her precious face, she will never leave her room until her death.
Her mother ran to Yulia when hearing her scream. 'No, she couldn't let her daughter get hurt. Whoever did this, she would make sure they never walked again!'
“Excuse me, make way!” The Earl asked the guests to make way as quickly reached her daughter. “Yulia! What’s wrong?!” A sharp pain struck her chest at the thought of seeing Yulia hurt.
Seeing the scene in front of her, she put two and two together and realized what happened. One was holding a teacup, while the other, her very own daughter, had her hair and clothes thoroughly soaked.
Ruben grabbed Yulia’s hand and started patting her everywhere. “Are you okay? Does it hurt?”
She frantically searched her daughter’s complexion for burn scars. When she didn’t see anything wrong, Ruben sighed in relief. The tea must not have been hot.
The other guests, however, knew that could not be right. Everyone directly saw the steam coming from the tea. Instead, they didn't think anything much about it and thought that the Earl’s daughter might have a shield rune with her.
Ruben tried her best to hide her daughter’s appearance from the other guests as she confronted the girl who dared to be so presumptuous in her home. “Miss, how can you do such a thing to my daughter during her birthday banquet? I ask that you explain yourself, or I will not let this go.” She directed her killing intent to the girl next to him.
Ruben’s goal was to scare the girl a little into confessing and beg for mercy. Who would have thought that the Earl’s murderous aura she picked up as a soldier a long time did not affect her at all?
‘This little girl…is not simple.’
While the Earl was thinking about what to do, Yulia pointed her finger at the girl. "Y-y-y-you…!"
"What? Did you not say it was only right for the host to take responsibility? Or are you going back on your words?"
Yulia blushed at that. If she agreed with her, she would ruin the image she carefully built until now.
“I'm not! But you poured hot tea all over me!!!” Her wet hair clung to her head, making her feel sticky and horrible.
"It was an 'accident'. And besides...." Aurora placed the teacup back on the table. She raised her eyebrows and smiled. "It didn't burn you."
“W-what? Of c –” She froze. She’s right. The tea was not hot at all. Instead, it was a bit…” Yulia crossed her arms over her chest as she shivered from the cold.
How did this happen?
She saw the fog coming from the tea, indicating that it was still blazing hot. And she wasn't quick enough to use her water shield rune to protect her.
‘However, there is an exception.’ Yulia thought as she continued shivering. Her mother placed her coat over her. ‘Steam can also come from something col…from something cold!! T-then…t-the only way for the temperature to change from hot to cold so quickly is if….’
Yulia jerked her head to the man who was slowly walking their way.
He wore a middle length black jacket with white trims, gloves, and a silver chain connecting the lower half. Underneath was a black vest and a burgundy shirt and tie. The outfit he wore was a very simple formal attire that didn't match someone of his rank. But still, it was enough to have the ladies he passed stare at him with sparkling eyes even though they kept their distance from him.
'It was…him!' Yulia's lips trembled, as though she wanted to cry.
W-why?!
Seeing her gaze on him, Lucius only stared back with an unsympathetic expression.
‘If it wasn’t for her….! The Duke would have never done such a thing to me!’ The Earl's daughter glared at Aurora. She wanted nothing more than to rip that beautiful hair of hers off her head.
Yulia raised her hand, attempting to slap Aurora. Since the Duke was untouchable, then she can only take her fury out on this girl!
Aurora stood still. It's not that she couldn't evade it, but she didn't feel the need to. What can a little girl’s slap who grew up pampered even do to her?
Just before the palm of her hand made contact with Aurora’s cheek, a hand gripped hers, almost to the point that it felt like he was about to tear it off.
“If you want to keep that arm of yours, I suggest you keep it to yourself. The fiancée of this Duke is not someone you can casually touch.” Lucius Rizar said with a ruthless tone. His voice was as deep as the howling blizzard that overwhelmed the dukedom once every year.
“Your Grace!!” The color from Yulia’s face drained, almost turning her into a ghost.
“Did he say, fiancée?” One of the female guests whispered.
A young noble standing next to her covered his mouth in shock. "Now that I think about it, he did!"
"Oh my goodness!"
The Duke of Rizar is engaged?!!
“That can’t be…” Helen’s mind raced as she tried to figure out what was going. The Duke of Rizar, who treated women as either sex partners or chess pieces, was engaged? While she knew it would eventually happen, why to this frivolous girl out of all people?!

Yulia widened her eyes. "That is impossible!" At first, she disregarded this woman who appeared out of nowhere, thinking he would get rid of her sooner or later. There was no way he can be serious about her. But what did he say? Fiancée?
"Waaaah....!" Suddenly, Yulia broke out in tears.
Lucius frowned and let go of her hand.
"How can you do this to me, Your Grace?" She said, between sobs. "Even after I gave you my first time...how can you discard me so?" She covered her face with both her hands.
The Earl blanched after hearing her daughter speak of such a shameful thing in public. "Yulia!!"
Her daughter glanced at her with sadness etched on her face. "I apologize Mother, but I can no longer keep this to myself." Yulia turned back to the Duke. "One year ago, after we spent that night together, I promised not to hold you responsible and keep it a secret. I only did so thinking you were just shy, but a year has already passed by, Your Grace!"
"...What?"
Seeing the coldness in the Duke's eyes, Ruben became anxious. "Oh no!" She tried to reach her daughter in time, but Lucius already pulled his gold sword out and pointed it at her neck.
"Say that again."
The tone of Lucius' voice was enough to make everyone there shiver in fear.
When Ruben intended to interfere, he glared at her. She was sure that if she moved again he would thrust his sword deep into her daughter's shoulder.
"Talk." Lucius Rizar said as he pushed the tip of the sword at her neck a little, drawing blood.
"OUCH!!" Yulia's face changed from red to purple to black.
While some of the guests were shocked, the others chuckled at this, thinking she got what she deserved for messing with someone she should not have. Most of the ladies were happy at Yulia’s misfortune. She always claimed that she would be the future Duchess and the next Head of the Nolbeia House. With her high-ranked mana, it was not strange if she succeeds in summoning a rank two familiar.
"Your Grace, have you no shame?!! Using the divine sword gifted by the Emperor to harm one of his people is unheard of!!" Ruben walked forward, desperate to save her daughter. But she knew if she made a move, it would all be over for the Nolbeia Household.
Yulia didn't know, but her mother signed another contract with the Duke. In return for not saying anything about what happened that night, Lucius agreed to provide a rare metal for Anvilus free of charge for two years. There was still one more year left. If they break their promise, he will charge them triple the price for the metal the association received from him over the past year.
The Earl was, of course, worried for her daughter, but she was even more anxious for another reason.
He will destroy the Nolbeia House!
Lucius looked at the Earl coldly. "Knowing the truth about what happened that night, you let your daughter spew such nonsense. She invited herself to my bed while I was unwell and not in the right mind. As the Emperor's sword, why would I be interested in such a dirty thing?"
The Duke raised his sword. Thinking he intended on killing her, Yulia gloriously fell on her bottom.
“Yulia!” Ruben ran to catch her, but due to the Duke's interference, she did not make it. When she saw Yulia horrified expression, Ruben’s face turned ugly.
Honor was as important as life to nobility. If rumors about what happened today spread, her daughter’s future would suffer greatly.
“Duke Rizar!” The Earl called out, angrily. “You dare lay your hands on my daughter?!!” Ruben stepped towards him as she placed her hand on the sword tied to her side.
While Ruben was babbling about how he could be so cruel to a young girl, his expression gradually turned dark. Lucius released his mana, this time without holding back.
“Dare. Why wouldn’t I dare?”
A cold wave of air spread throughout the reception hall. Not one person could escape the room that was visibly freezing over.
Some of the guests already passed out. The others were either on their knees or doubled over. The pressure his mana gave off made them feel all nauseous. They wanted to leave, but was it possible to even move in such a situation? Only Aurora, who had the protection of the flames, didn’t feel anything.
“To those who challenge me for any reason, I have never learned how to wield my sword with courtesy for my opponent, nor will I ever. You had better keep that in mind before you draw your sword, Earl Ruben Vel Nolbeia.”
The Earl’s fingers that gripped her sword started trembling. Even though she felt like falling to her knees, for the sake of her honor, she refused to let it show. With her knees quivering, she continued to stand up straight.
She regretted it. She should have listened to her son’s warning.
Lucius glanced at Yulia, who had long passed out. “I will say this to you the last time. Your daughter is not suited to marry into my Rizar House. There is only one woman I will take as my wife in this lifetime."
He walked towards Aurora and held her hand. “Dismiss your guests and take care of your daughter. We will wait for you in one of the guest rooms, as you still haven't fulfilled your promise.”
The moment he left the hall, the guests there all gasped for air. Some couldn’t help but throw up. If another person walked in right now, they would have surely been startled by the sight before them...
...As every single guest, even the Earl herself, had fallen to their knees.
Soon, those in high society will declare this party as the worst banquet held in a decade. In under a single hour, Earl Nolbeia and her daughter's reputation had become utterly ruined by the Lord of Rizar and his fiancée.
And so, Yulia Vel Nolbeia's Coming of Age ceremony came to a close.
This was the start of how Aurora and Lucius would one day gain the title, 'The Tyrants of the North'.
