“You’re a female?”
The one who asked was Elior. Since Azazel and Elior had mentioned a few times how they didn’t think much of females—perhaps even disregarded them—Jun had been concerned how they’d react once they found out. But judging by the way Elior asked, he didn’t seem upset, angry, or disappointed, just plain astonished.
“Yeah… Is that bad?” Jun asked with some hesitation. Unlike mate relationships between male beastmen, a mate relationship between males and females was difficult to break, as signified by the mark. To break the mate relationship required forcibly removing the mark, and that could kill a female and damage the rank of a male.
“No wonder I couldn’t see your rank and you always smell so good!” Elior exclaimed and held Jun closer.
Azazel’s expression was still one of having not yet recovered from the surprise, but he shook his head and held Jun’s hands in his. “This is great. Never would I have thought—”
His words were left unfinished. He was a wild beastman, abandoned when he was just a cub and had to learn to fend for himself. Females were an impossibility, so he had long given up on having one, and when he met Jun, he stopped caring about them entirely. To think that he could have a female…
Azazel released Jun’s hands and held his chin, his eyes peering deeply into Jun’s with sharp possessiveness. “You’re mine.” He growled.
Elior cleared his throat. “What was that?”
“And his. You can only be ours, ok?” Azazel amended.
Laughing, Jun gave Azazel a quick peck on the lips and did the same for Elior. “I only belong to you two. This life and the next, always.”
After not having feelings for anyone for years, Jun was certain there wouldn’t be another he’d cherish quite like Azazel and Elior ever again.
“You promised,” Elior said.
“I promise.”
Congratulations, dearest Host! You’ve finally found love!
|…| Now there was a voice he had not heard from in over a month.
You forgot about this system, didn’t you!? So heartless… uwu…
Of course, I didn’t...
He had just been distracted over the last month thanks to Azazel and Elior’s constant “care” for his ass. That’s all.
Well, I’ve never forgotten you, Host, and have always been here!
In the recent month of debauchery, it seemed Jun had forgotten about that too! He sure hoped the system didn’t peek at those times…
Unlike your men, I’m not a pervert, Host.
… Well then. What’s up?
I just wanted to say congratulations on finding love and to tell you that because of that, you’ve unlocked the Hidden Mission early!
… That’s a bit ridiculous. What if I never found love?
I’m phrasing it romantically. The key to unlocking the Hidden Mission early is to have a mate. You have two now, so it’s quite an accomplishment! Well, even if you never got a mate, the Hidden Mission would have still unlocked once you completed the Main Mission. It will just be 5 years later…
Ok, ok. I get it. What’s the Hidden Mission?
Hidden Mission objective: Reveal the protagonist’s true face!
That doesn’t sound like something a cannon fodder would have to do.
Host, haven’t you ever read those stories about the cannon fodder counter attacking?
Yeah, but that doesn’t sound like the sort of cannon fodder I am?
Do you want to be able to spend a peaceful life with your men or not, Host!?

Alright, I’ll accept the Hidden Mission.
‘Yeesh.’
|I heard that…| Jun could hear evil intent again. Was his system blackening? |Uwu, Host…|
After Jun promised, he zoned out, but Azazel and Elior weren’t worried. For some reason, they felt this to be a familiar scene and knew Jun would eventually return to them. They carried him back to the hut and laid him down on the bedding. Tomorrow they will work on finding a more suitable place to settle down. It was even more important now that Jun turned out to be a female.
For the next three years, they wandered across the entire continent, stopping whenever they found an adequate place to settle down, but it never lasted for more than three months. For some reason or another, they would be compelled to leave. When it was in the wilderness, they would run into colossals regardless of where they were.
Although they were able to gather many regular and King colossal cores, Azazel and Elior could not tolerate having no peaceful moment to spend with Jun. When it was a tribe, they would eventually find fault with them, and Jun would agree to leave to avoid conflict. Although male beastmen relationships weren’t uncommon, they weren’t widely accepted either and were frowned upon.
Most would choose to hide such a relationship. Even if Jun could offer the same “innovations” as the protagonist to those tribes, it still wasn’t enough for the tribesmen to let things be. Disregarding the fact that Jun was a female, even if he wasn’t, Azazel and Elior still wouldn’t have hidden their relationship with him. He was their precious mate and they were proud of him.
Jun, himself, was also disheartened by how difficult it was to have a stable milk tea supply in this world. The first tribe they had temporarily stayed with was the Leopard Tribe that had monopolized the method of making sugar, who traded sugar for the most outrageous prices.
Sugar was mainly a commodity favored by females, so they were well aware they’d usually have the funds for it, and even though Jun could also afford it, he couldn’t accept such inflation of prices. He, too, had been helping Azazel and Elior with their colossal hunts. Some of those cores were legitimately the result of his hard work.
Not to mention he had yet to find anything that even held a smidgen of resemblance to tea plants. It was remarkable he had endured this long without milk tea, but it was probably due to Azazel and Elior’s constant “distractions.”
During their travels, news of the establishment of a “Beastmen City” found its way to them. Beastmen City was located on the Western part of the continent and it was the culmination of the four great tribes, who were the most civilized and advanced. This included the Great Eagle Tribe, the White Wolf Tribe, the Black Bear Tribe, and of course the Golden Lion Tribe.
Jun already knew all about this, since Beastmen City was an important location to this world’s plot. In the plot, this was also around the same time the original Faye came to Beast City, so Jun was a little apprehensive. Then again, the protagonist had never done much to Faye other than to put him under the wheel and then show him some fake mercy.
But he didn’t have to worry, because after fighting so many colossals and consuming so many regular and King colossal cores for the past three years, Azazel and Elior had broken through King rank to advance to Emperor rank, or at least, that’s what Elior named it. Was this guy an emperor in a past life and couldn't let go of it?
As far as the storyline was concerned, such things were legendary, unwritten. Jun couldn’t help but wonder if there was a rank above Emperor and what it would be called. Immortal? God?
‘Hahahaha, yeah right.’
You never know, Host. It could be possible…
…
So was it possible or not? That wasn’t important, because Jun had nothing to fear. One time when he was in danger and Azazel and Elior were a distance away, they sensed it and teleported to him in an instant. After that, they tested it a few times and it was the same. Jun could “call” them to him whenever he wanted, and he didn’t even have to be in danger. It was pretty damn awesome.
With such an outstanding level of insurance, the threesome’s next destination was naturally the Beastmen City that boasted safety, openness, and residency to all as long as they were able to contribute. When they reached Beastmen City, they saw a four-sided walled structure with a gated entry point. It was the first time in this world for Jun to see such a grand work of architecture.
There were even watchtowers. You had to admire whoever was behind Beast City for such “innovations.” The protagonist was truly spectacular to have established such a great city for himself. Before entering the city, they had to pay a fee of 300 beast cores per person. Beast cores were the first thing the trio would shed off whenever on the move, so they asked the “entry official” if he would be willing to accept colossal cores instead.
Luckily for them, he did, and they only had to pay a total of 90 colossal cores. The entry official then registered their information and based on it, assigned them living space. As Beast City had only been established for a few months, there was still ample land available. They registered as a household, one female and two males.
“Female?” The official frowned, looking at the three male beastmen. Two of them were even King beastmen, so he doubted it was them and didn’t want to offend them either. His eyes settled on the youngest and shortest one with cat ears and a tail. “You?”
“Yes, I’m one of a kind,” Jun replied nonchalantly and showed the marks on the back of his hands. “They’re my mates.”
To think the world he was assigned as “female” would be the world he'd be mistaken for a male. Typical.
When he saw the marks, the official was even more shocked—a black wolf and albino python? Although wild beastmen weren’t exactly denied entry, this was the first time he had come across one, and they were both King—King!—rank. For wild beastmen, it was unheard of, as they often didn’t live long enough to advance to even rank 3.
He probably would have shat himself had he known what their real ranks were. At King rank, beastmen were able to maintain complete human forms and lower their pressure, else they would crush all the lower ranks with their pressure alone. Emperor beastmen were even more fearsome, in that they could erase their pressure, making their presence entirely undetectable to other male beastmen, much like a female.
The official wrote down their information. Beastmen were advanced enough to have a writing system by now, but few knew it. The ones that did were mainly tribe leaders who used it to send messages and those from the Great Eagle tribe, who invented the writing system. This official was a Great Eagle tribesman.
After they finished their registration, the official gave each of them a wooden tablet, which would be their pass in and out of the city, so they wouldn’t have to go through registration again.
“Don’t lose it,” He warned them. “Replacing one will cost you 500 beast cores or 50 colossal cores.”
He assigned them a piece of land on the outskirts of the city because they were such a strange household. For something like this, he knew he had to report it to the Beast City council.
When Jun reached their designated piece of land, he was thrilled to see that they had been given a rather vast area. There was enough land for a house, which they had to build on their own, and a small garden to plant some vegetables. There was even a lemon tree included. It was great to be back in civilization. Azazel and Elior saw the satisfaction in Jun’s eyes and were reassured they had made the right decision. They enjoyed their freedom as wild beastmen, but some order and stability were necessary for Jun.
