Chapter 103: Guidelines

This huge boost in skills changed the aura alastair emitted from a blunt but powerful one to a sharp powerful one like looking at a sword. this was noticed by alastair when lorean showed up looking far more nervous than when he usually did. "how have you grown so fast?!" he asked fearfully. alastair grinned "just did a bit of light reading is all." he said jokingly. "what in oblivion did you read to grow this much , the ogma infinium?" lorean asked in confusion. "nah , that's in a large box of the coast , i only read some books from the second era is all." alastair says casually.

"Second era? wait you mean that place still had viable books hidden in it?" lorean asked in surprise. alastair nodded "yeah there was a hidden library that had enchantments that kept the books safe , if i had to guess it was the private collection of the leader of the grey host but was lost when he died without telling anyone." he explained. lorean looked excited " and you still have these books right?" he asked seriously. "nope gave the whole library to the college since they needed them more than i did." alastair said with a shrug.

"Damn it all , the order lost most of our tomes from the second era and before thanks to that traitor mannimarco." lorean explained his interest. alastair shrugged "you might be able to get copies if your order traded with the college , though you'd have to discuss that with savos." he said calmly.  lorean nodded "that aside we should get to the matter at hand , your rampant tampering with fated events." he said turning business like. alastair motioned for him to continue "the order would like for you to avoid any interaction with the dragonborn if possible."

Alastair frowned "best i can promise is not to involve myself in her fate without her asking first." he said with a tone that left no room for argument.  lorean could only frown "so be it , the order would also like it if you would avoid any daedra activity lest you accidentally destroy the world." he paused to get alastairs reaction. "same as the first thing with one caveat , i intend to loot apocrypha for knowledge in the future. in exchange i'll go acquire the ogma infinium for your order." he explained calmly. lorean wanted to immediately reject alastair but a short burst of mana stopped him.

"My superiors have agreed with the exchange , beyond the two guidelines already stated the order would like you to share your enchanting method or at the very least that unusual crafting device in the nearby room as payment for tolerating your disruptive presence." lorean paled when stating this last thing since if it angered alastair he could erase he with little effort. alastair thought about it for a moment and found the request for his enchanting method as payment for the headache he caused them quite reasonable , he didn't like how lorean phrased it however.

"The request for the enchanting method is reasonable , though the way you phrased it is rather irritating." alastair aired his grievance but still used creation magic to create a small book with only about thirty pages with a red leather binding that had the luminaries mark on the cover. "this has the method i used to enchant as i have in this world , read it first as payment as the medium of the order before turning it in." he explained while handing it over to lorean who read through it quickly and looked enlightened.

"This is truly a marvel in ingenuity and the examples you added are very helpful to understanding the content." lorean said honestly. "it was the least i could do , now unless you are intending to socialize i believe our business is finished for now." alastair said simply. "ah yes sorry about that , i'll be off to the order then goodbye." lorean said before leaving in a portal. 'now to wait until alina needs a ride across the ice fields to meet septimus signus.' he thought before going to chat with savos his newest friend.
