"What in oblivion is that?!" serana screeched fearfully. alastair stopped emitting the death power "that is death energy to be specific natural death energy rather than the unnatural stuff that keeps you alive." he explained honestly. "why did it feel like i was going to die if i touched it?" serana asked calming down considerably. "the energy that i use is natural death energy meaning the kind of thing that has a permanent ending and as something being denied death by your unnatural necromantic energy my energy is lethal in even the smallest dose." alastair explained his now confirmed theory.

"Doesn't that make you the natural bane of all necromancers and undead?" alina asked seriously. "it does." alastair confirmed. "my father would do anything to see you dead" serana said seriously. "well its a good thing he's weaker than me by a lot then isn't it." alastair said smugly. "are you really?" serana asked surprised. alastair nodded " yeah i would say i'm only a bit below almsivi in terms of pure power at the moment and compared to them harkon is merely a slightly larger bug." he said casually. "wait you are just below the living god kings?" serana asked in surprise.

"Skill wise i am at their level but my attributes are a good chunk below theirs but considering their demigod nature that's not all that strange." alastair explained. those from tamriel were amazed at alastairs power and serana thought about asking him for his help stopping her father. alastair however predicted this and said that his deal with the psijic order prevented him from interfering , which was technically true since it was alinas fate to stop him. serana was disappointed in this but understood nonetheless , after that the group boarded the sea drake and headed out into the ice fields.

The people from tamriel were impressed at how easily the sea drake broke through the ice , but those familiar with the sea drake and its materials would have been more surprised if it had trouble with the stuff. the trip only took a couple of hours mostly since no one knew precisely where septimus's outpost was located in the ice field. it turned out he was about twenty miles out in a rough north eastern direction from winterholds docks. most of the group stayed on the ship with the exception of alastair , alina and serana who all entered the ice cave septimus bored out through the iceberg.

Septimus was just as mad as he was in the game so before he could confused alina and serana alastair interrupted him. "skip all the rambling and give alina the lexicon and dwemer sphere before marking where she needs to go on her map." alastair said calmly getting confused looks from alina and serana but an astonished look from septimus. "my lord didn't mention a knower." septimus said confused. "fate has no strings on me so your lord his blind to me." alastair said calmly further confusing alina and serana but septimus looked enlightened.

After that septimus handed over the items needed to reach the elder scroll alina needed as well as marking where she needed to go on her map. once that was done alastair stunned everyone here by using erdrean time magic to grab a handful of dwemer blood from the far flung past. they didn't know what alastair was doing until he smeared the blood on the locking mechanism of the giant dwemer vault. they watched in astonishment as the sturdy metal screeched open revealing a large book bound by the skin of various races on a pedestal.

Septimus rambled on about how that wasn't supposed to be there and how everything was all wrong. alastair ignored the broken man and snatched the book into his inventory completely ignoring the system prompt to absorb the knowledge within. this action pushed the daedric lord watching all this into action however a a mass of slimy dark green tentacles and eyes appeared mid air. "halt there stranger , know that you will offend me should you take my artifact from it's rightful owner." a slimy semi-deep voice spoke from the mass.

Alastair was unbothered by the threat hermaeus mora had made. "how about a trade , this book for knowledge beyond your knowing?" alastair asked knowing full well hermaeus couldn't bring himself to reject the trade. "you seem familiar with me and yet you bear no fate , why is this?" the daedra asked calmly. "is that knowledge the price you wish for the artifact?" alastair asked calmly. "a dilemma how interesting , if i agree i lose the other knowledge but if i disagree that knowledge remains out of my reach. counter offer , what else do you want for that knowledge?" hermaeus asked seriously. alastair knew he had the daedra right where he wanted "i want you to swear not to interfere with me when i enter your realm in the future." he said with a clever smile.
