Chapter 22: Eh? and awe

After agreeing to visit the hotsprings tomorrow erik and alastair turned in for the day since they were quite tired. the next day the duo bid farewell to the merchant who was heading past hotto to gallopolis since the sand national is coming up soon and he can make a killing off the tourist coming for it. following the path alastair and erik eventually walked onto a volcanic field with very few plants but a good amount of interesting monsters. the most fascinating monster was a bongodrongo.

This particular monster looked like a green genie with a drum growing out of it that had an evil face on the side including an open mouth. the fascinating part of this monster was that it seemed to have the ability to command other monster due to the sound its drum part made when struck. unfortunately alastairs magic skill was not even vaguely close to recreating this phenomenon. it was thanks to this that alastair decided that after maxing out his fitness skill he would start splitting his points between small weapons and magic do to how useful the two skills were also alastair had a nagging feeling that maxing out a skill will bring some major change but he wasn't completely sure.

After slaughtering all the monsters in sight and collecting the drops the duo walked over a small rope bridge over a boiling saltwater stream that connected to the nearby ocean. beyond the bridge was a small piece of black earth carved out into a path that had a sign announcing that by following the path they would arrive at hotto. the two soon reached the town of hotto and alastair was amazed at how ridiculously similar the architecture was to traditional china with pagoda style buildings every where you look.

"What do you mean i can't have any more! i'm paying aren't i!?" a loud feminine voice draws alastairs attention to the right of the town entrance.  there he sees a tall girl with a lithe figure who seems about his age arguing with the owner of a food stall about something. the girl had long silk smooth crimson hair and pale unblemished skin but what really drew alastairs attention was her eyes and ears. the girls eyes were ruby red and silts like a retiles and her ears were normal until the top ridge were they were purple finned.

After apparently losing the argument with the stall owner the girl turned to storm off but froze when she saw alastair and quickly ran over to him and stopped just in front of him which surprised him greatly. unconsciously alastair took a combative stance but was stunned still when the girl started to circle him up close poking him in some spots while nodding to herself. after checking him out all over the girl stood in front of him and smiled with a predatory glint in her eyes. "I've decided , you will be my husband!" she exclaimed like it was to be expected.

"Eh?" that was all alastair and erik managed as their minds crashed from the shear spontaneity of this situation. "i erisa choose you as my husband , be glad human." she stated while puffing out her sizeable chest proudly. "eh?" was all she got from alastair which made her frown. "oi say something else already!" she said irritated at the blank stare she was getting from alastair. alastair finally snapped out of his blank state and immediately spoke once he processed what she said. "no" that was all he said before grabbing erik and walking away.

The girl stood there in a daze at alastairs reply as of everything she was excepting to come out of his mouth refusal hadn't even crossed her mind. alastair and erik headed up the red painted steps , well to be more specific alastair dragged erik up the stairs as erik's mind was still rebooting. once alastair got to the top of the stairs he lit a small flame on his finger tip and pressed it into erik's shoulder causing his mind to reboot from the sudden pain. "yowch! the hell man!" erik yelled while grabbing his burnt shoulder.

"sorry about that but i got tired of carrying you ,here I'll heal it." alastair said before waving his hand and sending a faint green mist from it to erik's shoulder healing the wound instantly. "it still fucking hurt" erik grouched a bit. "i said sorry and healed the damage what more do you want from me , besides we are at the hotsprings already." alastair said while pointing at the large building next to them with a red multi strip covering in the doorway with a depiction of steam on it. erik looked at the building and dropped the conversation before walking in.

The two walked in and approached the counter where a large lady was sitting for service. "the rules are simple rinse off in the steam area before entering the spring and don't enter the women's section. other than that for an extra charge we will even clean and set them aside for after you are done. the changing room is over there." the women said pointing at a few small curtained off spaces on the side of the entryway. erik and alastair both paid for the cleaning service and entered the changing room were they removed all their clothes and put on a set of swim trunks from their own storages.

Each walked out of their respective dressing rooms and got vastly different reaction from the people who were in the lobby. erik got a small amount of attention because of his incredibly lean body with hints of muscle but alastair got sheer awe when he left the changing room. alastair had a toned and well built muscular physique with every muscle on him being incredibly defined and eye catching. even erik who had an idea of how strong alastair was had an impressed impression when he saw alastairs body. after turning over their clothes the two walking into the steam area where they rinsed off and entered the male section of the hotsprings.
