"nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine...ten thousand! Huff...huff..." A woman could be seen panting and holding a large scratched two-handed sword with the top half of her body exposed and muscles rippling. Sweat oozed down her naked breasts and hard abs as she stood firmly in the courtyard of her family manor. She wiped more sweat off her face and hair from the towel brought by one of the elder maids.
"My lady, are you going to visit your brother? He has awoken."
"Later."
Edith was the older sister of Eden and a member of the Blazing Glory which was a large group of like-minded adventurers who deep-dive into dungeons in search of treasure and relics. Ever since Edith was a child she had always fantasized about being an adventurer and exploring dungeons. After graduating from the academy, she signed up to be a member of the adventurers guild much to her mother's displeasure. She received tutoring and expert advice from various guild trainers and weapon masters for a hefty sum. Eventually, after dungeon diving with random groups, she was noticed by one of the city's top adventuring parties, The Blazing Glory. A few months after becoming a member, she left her family house and her little brother to explore the world, only sending letters back every so often.
"But you will leave again in another few days. Your brother would be ecstatic to see you again."
"He won't remember me and it's best that it stays that way. Besides, it's not like I'm ever here."
"My lady..."
Edith had always held a soft spot for her brother. Back then, he'd always look up to her, following her around everywhere in the city and manor. It was a little more than half a year ago that she heard the news about his situation. Her heart almost stopped when she found out her sweet and innocent brother was in a coma, and possibly for good. She rushed over as fast as she could using expensive mages guild teleportation to get to her family house. It was only a few days later she learned of her family's financial circumstances from her father.
'Tsk. God dammit mother! Had I known about it earlier I would have sent you the money without question. Why do you have to be so stubborn!'
"Young lady, your showing that face again." The elder maid sighed. "Please, visit your brother at least once. He needs his sister more than you realize."
Edith handed the now sweaty towel back to the maid and walked past her, flicking her bangs off her face. "Alright, fine. If it'll get you to stop pestering me."
...
Walking up to the third floor, Edith turned the corner and walked down the left hallway towards her brother's room. It had been a little over 8 or so years since she had seen him. Her mind raced at what she would witness when she'd enter his room. He had practically no memories of anyone when she heard her father cry about him in the living room.
'Maybe this is better? I left so suddenly back then...'
The door to her brother's room was slightly open, hearing slurping sounds from within. She smiled knowing he always had very noisy eating habits.
She pushed the door open and stared at the young man sitting on the bed, drinking soup. He didn't notice her standing there and she didn't say a word as she stood there watching him.
'He's all grown up...'
"...Eden..." she whispered to no one in particular, barely audible.
"Hm? Oh," Eden noticed the girl standing by the door. He put his spoon down to greet her when he realized she was the woman in the photo, or more specifically his young mom-sister. "Mom!" He blurted out without thinking.
Edith chuckled hearing her brother calling her mom. It was cute to hear and made her heart soften. She crossed her arms and leaned against the door while smirking. "Heh, I'm not your mom, kid"
"Oh right...you are...my sister, right?"
"Mm. It's fine if you don't remember me."
"I think I remember your name. Is it...Edith?"
Edith's expression wavered slightly, hearing that her brother had remembered her name. "Ah, yeah...that's right."
Eden felt a bit uncomfortable speaking to the parallel version of his mother, considering that she was his sister now. Her swept-back hair and toned body made her look like some kind of badass.
"So...how do you feel." She asked in her low voice.
"Good. You?"
"Never better..."

"Um, why don't come sit beside me, and maybe we can chat."
"I think I'll stand here. Chat away."
The memories of his mother when he was a child flashed through his mind. She had left Eden and his dad when he was only 8, making his father work to the bone taking care of him before he too passed away from alcohol poisoning 7 years later.
"You know there's something about you that irks me. You're not the type of person who would, I don't know, leave all of a sudden, are you?"
Edith's brows furrowed at her brother's words. He had just woken up and hadn't been speaking to anyone, only briefly to their parents and the head chef. "What makes you say that?"
"I don't know. Just a hunch." he shrugged. "Whatever, never mind it."
He placed the tray of food off to the side and wiped his hands on the bedsheets, getting up and walking towards his sister. "So you're my sister, eh? It's nice to meet you. Even though I have no memory of you, keep in mind that I'll still have my guard up toward any of your older sister shenanigans targeted against me."
"Heh. I gotchya. Guess I'll have to be more discreet then."
"Yup! Anyways..." Eden stepped toward Edith and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his head just above her chest and giving her a warm hug.
"What are you-"
"Just a normal hug. I feel like I haven't seen you in a while, despite my memory loss. Does that sound weird?"
"...no. It...it doesn't..."
Being caught off guard, Edith slowly brought one hand over her brother's lonely back and touched it, feeling his warmth. She felt years of fatigue and mental exhaustion wash off her body at that moment as she sighed a breath of relief. It was a type of fatigue that slowed her body down that even her guild master had taken notice of.
'I guess I was the one who needed this more' Her other hand wrapped around his head and pulled him in closer to her breast 'oh Eden. Why'd you have to go and do something dumb like that?'
"I've decided," Edith muttered.
"Hm? Decided what?"
'Decided that I need to stay and watch over you for a little while longer.' Edith thought. 'I'll make sure to raise you properly unlike how mother and father did.'
"Hey, sis."
"yeah...what is it?"
"Can I call you mom?"
"..."
"Pft. Yeah sure. whatever..."
