A/N: In case you don’t know, I’m Asian. Contrary to popular beliefs, Lunar New Year isn’t exclusive to Chinese. Yes, we celebrate it more than New Year, which means I’m super fucking busy at the moment. It means relatives to visit(Even though I dislike most of them), gifts to buy, and all that good things– Note the sarcasm, so I’m sorry for so much delays. I’ve tried my best, but the circumstance doesn’t allow me to write quickly.

Christ, just thinking about all the Red Envelops I’d have to give makes me want to unalive myself. No wonder my mom never let me keep any of it in my childhood, the sheer amount she gives away to my relatives’ kids must have been fucking insane.

Here's my usual spiel:

You can read from Episode 69 to 97 in advanced and the Tier starts from as low as 1USD, try it out! (Please, help out a brother, I’m gonna go broke from all the Red Envelopes I’ll have to hand out.)

This was not good, not at all… Violent wind currents were starting to pick up outside the Church, which was extremely odd. When my own Trials happened, there were magical events taking place, sure. But those were purely the result of Ciri’s Elder Blood being injected and bonding to my Body and Soul. This, whatever this was, it’s due to the Trials, not any other factors.

I’d know, I fucking checked.

Avalon, the Holy Relic that it was, was suppressing nearly all interferences from the corrupted Lesser Grail, both being objects more Conceptual than physical. The Worms were easy to handle, I had sedated the fat, slimy cunts with a few potions, coupled with the oils I had injected into them prior to Sakura’s Trials, this was supposed to be safe!

It should not have been this intense…

Gaia, I frowned at the thought.

It must be that meddling bitch! It just had to be.

Christ was she fucking annoying. It wasn’t enough she basically reduced my Elder Blood to a Mana-Regen passive and a glorified Teleportation Spell, but she had to fuck with this too?!

‘I’m so going to scrap all those plans I have for saving the planet. Screw you, you petty bitch. I’mma let you fucking burn!’ Gritting my teeth, I started to administrate the next dose of the chemicals, diluting them into the tubes connecting to Sakura’s arms. Let Gaia stew and throw her tantrum, this changed nothing. She couldn’t interfere directly, and this should not warrant a visit from the Counter Guardian. ‘Things will be fine.’

I reassured, ‘We’ve planned for this, Leonis. Remain calm.’

Of course, the Crest Worms just had to pick this exact moment to act up, causing the plum-haired girl prone and motionless body to squirm, limbs straining against the restraints. Usually, the first parts of the Trials were the easiest. There pains, that’s an undeniable fact, but nothing a girl like Matou Sakura couldn’t bite her teeth and sit through,

Unfortunately…

The Crest Worms were having a violent reaction towards the Trials, seemingly awoken and agitated by the converging Mana as they feasted more than the plum-haired girl could handle. Far more than they should have– More than I had originally expected. Thankfully, I had had the foresight to cook other supplementary potions before beginning the Witcher Trials.

They were the failsafe in case the thing that wore the guise of an elderly man found out what we were trying to do. It wouldn’t kill the Worms, it’s not that simple. With how closely connected those things were to Sakura’s Magic Circuits, killing them would damage her Spirit severely and if we were unlucky, we might just create a second Shiro Emiya. No, no… They were there simply to weaken and sedate the slimy motherfuckers,

Nothing more,

Nothing less.

Moments after introducing the chemicals to her system, Sakura began to scream even louder.

It was an ears-piercing, heart-wrenching thing that made my stomach tighten and knotted in worry. From what little I remembered of my own Trials, the entire process was quite… Excruciating, but that pain should not be more than what was done to Sakura by the repulsive old Worm. Pausing, I did a quick scan on her struggling form with [Observe] and [Structural Grasp].

It’s as I feared, the concoctions I mixed had only managed to clam the Crest Worms for the briefest seconds before they acted up again with a vengeance, which could only mean one thing: Matou Zouken was now aware of the attempt on his main Crest Worms, the ones currently supplying him with the most amount of Mana to preserve his wretched life, all thanks to Sakura’s own ridiculous reserves.

“Fuck…” I cursed. “Shit… This is bad, the Worms’ reactions are too intense, it’s outside my expectations. If this continues–”

There was nothing more I could do.

If the plum-haired girl Spirit was really damaged, I could only attempt a [Timeline Displacement] on her, but if that’s the case, would she still be the same Sakura?

“Can’t you give her more medications or something?” That was a good question, Shiro! I’d do that if I could, but… “I can’t, the potions all had a certain amount of toxicity in them, any more will do more Sakura more harm than good, her Immune System will be compromised, flat-lining her instantly.”

“So what do we do?” The smol Heroine of Justice asked worriedly.

I sighed, watching as Shiro clasp her hands in prayer. “We wait… And hope for the best–”

The words barely escaped my lips when an explosion rocked the Church, throwing tools and chemicals spills to crash onto the floor. I caught a few bottles before they were ruined with [Spatial Manipulation], but the rest were gone, mixed in an unholy concoctions that bubbled, burst with acidic properties, seeming ready to combust at any moment’s notice.

“Shiro, you take Sakura outside where it’s safe! I’ll stay to clean up first.” Waving the smol Heroine of Justice off, I opened a portal close to the floor to drain the majority of the chemical fluids. Another explosion caused me to nearly trip and fall face-first into the toxins. Luckily, I was able to stable my footing by blinking to a relatively empty spot. “Crap, what the Hell’s going on out there?!”

“Leonis-sensei, what about you?”

I shouted agitatedly. “I’ll be fine, just get Sakura out of here!”

[Spatial Manipulation] activated, boxing the spills into the awaiting portal seconds before the chemical reactions caused the fluids to burst in flame. Even then, I was still subjected to a few breaths of toxic fumes that made my HP, which was initially at a healthy 100% to plummet by around 15%.

14.8% to be precise.

Once I was sure I had scoured every nook and cranny of my Workshop clean of chemical spills, I stormed to the windows, wanting to know what was causing the explosions and flares of lights. I swore, the windows were only open for like a millisecond, yet a stream of Insects began pouring in.

Leonis! Close the damned windows, you fool! They’re getting everywhere!

‘Just shut up for a second, will ya’?!’

I slammed it shut, killing several of the crawling, flying Insects as they screeched in pain, their squishy, fat bodies crushed to meaty pastes. There were bees, fat, ugly things that had more similarities to cockroaches than the species they were trying to emulate– They were naught but poor imitations of the real articles.

There were actual cockroaches with pulsating bellies!

And then, there were the… Spiders?

‘Fuck! Why does it have to be spiders?!’

Fire, kill them with fire! Incinerate these motherfuckers, Leo!’ Even the Daemon King’s Fragment sounded like he was in a panic. So Angra had arachnophobia? I meant, I wasn’t one to judge, since I had basically rejected every Witcher Contracts Ciri had proposed that might involve the skittering cunts, but still… ‘Stop shouting! Toughen up, you fucking pussy. If I’m not screaming, what are you panicking for?!’

Their multitudes of eyes zoomed in on my person.

The eerie, almost human reactions made me shiver in place. I did not need Angra to lose his shit again to start blasting them with [Ansuz] in one hand and [Igni] in the other. With [Spatial Manipulation], I created a glowing barrier to seal the windows, ensuring none of the Insects could break it from outside. The few– And by few, I meant the dozens that managed to break in were racing towards me at full-speed, all while they were burning like they had been doused by gasoline.

‘What the fuck?!’

It’s not working! Change to Lightning, quick! Don’t let ‘em touch us!

‘I fucking know! Stop shouting, you’re making me panic as well, you prick!’

“Just fucking die already, you fucks!” Thank Gil’s golden grace for small miracles, ‘cause Lightning seemed particularly effective against the Insects, leaving their blackened corpses squirming and seizing on the floor, before they exploded, sending green fluids, which I could only presume were their bloods, all over my formerly pristine– Well, my Workshop was still  ever so slightly dusty, but you got what I meant!

For the last time, who the fuck are you talking to?!’ I did not deign Angra’s question with an answer, instead opted for an insult. ‘Seriously, you’re a Daemon, act like it! Fuck are you screaming like a little girl for?!’

Scowling, I cursed all those films that made me believe fire was the solution to an insects-infestation. “That’s the last time I trust movies’ logics! Fire didn’t even hurt the fucks!”

Some of the bloods even splattered on my shirt, though thankfully they weren’t acidic or destructive in any way… Other than to my mental health, that was. “Ew! Oh-fuck, it smells worse than cow-dungs mixed with cat piss with sewage-water sprinkled on top!”

This shit’s getting everywhere, fuck!

I almost retched at the abhorrent scents, nose scrunching in repulsion. I loved this outfit, it’s a resized of Rin’s gifts to fit my taller and growing form, but there was no saving it now. In an instance, I was out, stripped clean of the shirt, suit and dress-pants as I then proceeded to burn them all to ashes with a quick flash of [Igni]. The next, I was in an exact replica of the outfit once more,

Courtesy of good ol’ [Gradation Air], obviously.

That done, I rushed outside to find the girls, only to be greeted by a sounds of nightmarish screeching, plus the hammerings of winds and rains against the Church’s roofs. Calling out into the dark hallway, I prepared to summon my blades. “Shiro? Sakura?! Where are you two?”

Looked like the Mana Storm had knocked the power out. “What is this– A fucking slasher-film?!”

All of a sudden, a winged Spider the size of my fists combined jumped down from the ceiling, its beady coal eyes widening as its fangs shot at my throat. Infernal Iris shone with a cursed glow, separating the loathsome creature in two. I had learnt my lesson, this time I covered my with a thin layer of Space to block its bodily fluids. This did cause me troubles moving and maneuvering, but it was better than being coated in… Whatever the fuck that green-stuffs were.

Closing my eyes, I tried my best to zoom in on the girls’ breathings, ignoring whistling of the wind currents outside and the demonic shrieks from the Insects. ‘C’mon, where are you two?!’

Finally, after what felt like hours, but in reality was a mere few seconds, I picked up panicked breaths and soft snores in the other end of the Church. Wasting no time, I blinked through the hallway as hundreds of Insects charged at me from the walls, the ceiling, the fucking ground itself… In fact, I was fairly certain I saw some burrow into the marbled, reinforced floor.

“How? Fucking HOW?!”

Less talking, more killing, Leo!

—— [Fate: DML] ——

‘It’s official, tonight’s the worst night ever.’

That might be an exaggeration, but at this point, Rin couldn’t care less. When she ran towards the Church, weaving through street after street like the wind, she had expected a lot of things. Possibilities of what might have caused the Mana Storm whirled through her mind at a hundred miles per hour.

From Aliens,

Rogue Mages,

To Dead Apostles

But she definitely had not expected the Church to be besieged by a seemingly endless hordes of Insects. The Tohsaka Heiress had been stuck avoiding their pursuit for over ten, maybe fifteen minutes now. Lost in the forest around where gigantic, magical Insects were hiding in every trees and under every rocks.

It was a nightmare come true.

Being a Magus, the twin-tailed tsundere was used to gross stuffs, but this must have been the most stomach-churning thing she had ever experienced. ‘At least I can see the Church now.’

And it wasn’t looking good…

Its windows were all smashed, the doors broken with steady streams of Insects crawling in and out, making themselves right at home.

Then, Rin saw her.

The Heroic Spirit that had served as her deceased father’s Servant in the Fourth Grail War.

The Queen of Uruk,

The Golden Queen,

And arguably the first real Hero to ever walk the Earth.

It was her who paved the way for future Legends and Myths, and boys was she impressive. Even surrounded by an endless horde of Insects, most of which were poisonous, the Queen still held herself with Pride and Dignity with naught a trace of worry on her face…

No, there was.

But not for herself, every once in a while, Archer of the Fourth Grail War would glance at the Church in concern and the Insects, taking advantage of this, would charge at her in a futile effort to cause harms. Rin said futile because with those glowing golden shields that erected layer upon layer of barrier, it would be lucky if they even got a scratch in. She herself hadn’t been so lucky, having to be constantly on the run just to avoid stingers and poisonous bites from the bees and spiders.

Then, all of a sudden, Rin felt the Queen’s gaze land on her as a flying blade came hurling her way, too fast for the Tohsaka Heiress to even react. Rin felt violent winds slap her on the face, making the girl flinch, standing rooted in the same spot, unable to move. For a second there, she genuinely thought she would- had died, but when she opened her eyes, all she could see were the ground sizzling with acids.

“Wha- What?” The twin-tailed tsundere whispered, head snapping back to find bloody crushed bits and pieces, remains of the Insects that had followed her. Another ball of acids shot towards her, but before she could dodge, the Tohsaka Heiress already found herself tucked securely under the Queen’s arm. “Arc- Archer, you–!”

“Is this what passes for ‘thank you’ nowadays? If so, I’m very disappointed.”

She said that, but the depths of her eyes contained only amusement as Rin blushed bright red, muttering. “I- Sorry, and thank you.”

The Queen of Heroes smirked, “Don’t. I’m only saving you for the Little Lion. You’re his royal tutor, however useless–”

The Queen tilted her head to avoid several acidic balls flying her way, continuing casually. “– You’ve been, he has built an emotional connect with you, I can’t let you die.”

Rin’s embarrassed expression was wiped away instantly as she glared, bristling under the Golden Queen’s arm. Hell, if she wasn’t holding Rin’s life by a thread, dangling her atop a horde of squirming, slimy, fat Insects, the Tohsaka Heiress would have insulted her back already, her survival be damned. “Useless?! I’ll have you know I taught him all the basics!”

“I believe the Little Lion had Kirei for that.” Gilgamesh raised her eyebrows tauntingly, almost as though daring her to say otherwise. Of course, being the stubborn girl she was, Rin bit back immediately, her anger overwhelming her rationality. “As if that fake priest can teach him anything useful, he’s a horrible teacher!”

If her father was here, he would have scolded her for disrespecting someone so clearly more powerful than her, but then again, the man’s dead for a reason. And even if she were to die here, she would die with dignity. The Tohsaka Heiress thought, cheeks ballooning with indignation. To her surprise, the Queen did not throw her to the hungry Insects yapping desperately at their feet, she did not even seem angry as she burst into loud, harsh laughter.

“At least you’re better than that useless mongrel you call a father.” Perhaps it was the exhaustion of having to fight past a literal sea of Insects capable of blotting out the Sky, or the sheer adrenaline coursing through her veins, but Rin could swear she saw little bit of respect beneath the Queen’s obvious amusement. “My father’s not useless!”

She shouted back, annoyed at the loathing the resurrected Heroic Spirit afforded her late father. “Tokiomi Tohsaka’s a spineless mongrel who got exactly what he deserved. People like him are a dime a dozen, and you will find that this Queen shed not a tear when that fool died.”

Almost teary-eyed, the Tohsaka Heiress was about to quarrel back, but before she could do so, the Golden Queen landed on the roof, a Mystic Code in the form of a magical staff emerging from the golden swirls behind her, blasting both fire and lightning at the pursuing swarm of mutated bees. Without a notice, the Queen dropped her unceremoniously, leaving Rin to massage her sore butt. “I do not like to fight, it is my Army’s responsibility to deal with insects like these–”

Gilgamesh spoke, voice so even and calming that even while surrounded on all sides, Rin could not help feeling her own confidence rise. “– But I’ll make an exception today. Bear witness, Rin Tohsaka! Watch as this Queen demolish these beasts!”

Grin widening, portals– Hundreds of them in fact, opened up behind her. This time, they did not show melee weapons, but more and more staffs. Each crackling with every elements known to Mankind, some even humming with cursed and/or holy Mana.

What came next, Rin could only describe it as a spectacle as colorful lights lit up the Church’s courtyard. Every the staffs pointed, the land was upheaval, and the Insects, which had seemed to dangerous and relentless to the Tohsaka Heiress previously, were obliterated until not a piece of them remained.

The righteous anger she felt disappeared, replaced by awe as she knelt on the roof, jaw slack from the overwhelming displays of power. “… So this is how Servants fight. This is–”

‘Ridiculous.’ She finished in her head.

“Behind you.” The Queen abruptly informed the girl, causing her head to snap back to find several bees had approached and were quickly closing in. Immediately, she brought up her hands, fingers moving to make the shape of a handgun. “Gandr! Gandr, Gandr, Gandr!”

The Curses tore the relatively small swarm to shreds in an instance. A proud smile dancing on her lips, Rin turned towards the Queen as if expecting a compliment, only to find the swarms that had previously blotted out the courtyard, covering every inch completely decimated. The only traces of their existences being the craters left behind from the Golden Queen’s attacks and the ashes of their remains.

.

..

‘Urgh… Forget it, comparing myself to a Servant will only discourage me.’ She thought bitterly, head perking up as she felt Gil’s hand ruffling her hair. “You did well for a girl your age. Should I promote you from mongrel to handmaiden after all?”

Feeling somewhat conflicted, Rin simply allowed the Queen to mess her hair up. With how sweaty and disheveled she was, it’s not like her hair could get even more messy, right? Then a thought hit her, “Do you know what’s causing this?”

The Tohsaka Heiress did not ask who, for she already knew who was responsible for this mess. Who else but the one and only Leonis Magnum? That guy was like a walking troubles-magnet, she would be surprised if he wasn’t involved. The Golden Queen snorted, her reply tinged with amusement. “The Little Lion was performing an operation on… Someone–”

Somehow, Rin did not like how she said ‘someone’. It’s almost as if the Golden Queen was laughing at an inside joke involving her, and Rin Tohsaka really, really did not like being ridiculed. “– He ended up provoking a loathsome creature, whom I have explicitly told to stay away from him.”

The swarms shook in agitation hearing her words, their movements so distinctively human yet inhuman at the same time. Rin clutched her mouth in horror when a smaller swarm began to converge, their meaty forms splitting open by thin, tiny spine-like tentacles as they fused into a vaguely humanoid shape. “Do not blame this old man, your Grace.”

She knew that voice.

It was a long time ago, but she still remembered the day she lost her beloved sister.

The day when she got to meet House Matou’s Head.

Flesh mended, slowly knitted to form a hairless, pale head. His back was hunched over heavily, the old man seemed so fragile a wind could probably knock him on his back, or leave him bedridden, but after facing his swarms, for they were clearly his, Rin did not doubt Matou Zouken possessed way more power than his appearance would indicate. “After all, I’m merely responding to the boy’s provocations.”

“You- You are–!” Rin hissed, eyes honing in on the thing in the guise of a man, disbelief coloring her voice. “You’re an Apostle? How is that possible?! Father would not have…”

She trailed off, horror starting to creep in. Apostles, in spite of their past, could no longer be considered human in any capacity. They lacked the empathy and sanity humans would have. No Magus House, no matter how many Heirs or Heiresses they had, would ever leave one of their children with an Apostle. That was a death sentence. If Matou Zouken had been one of those vampiric creatures all this time, then that meant her sister– Sakura, she…

“No, no, no! It’s not true. Father would have not left Sakura with the likes of you if he knew!” She only managed these words before she felt an invisible weight press on her chest and a sickening feeling in her stomach. ‘It couldn’t be! My sister is alive! Changed maybe, but she’s alive, if Zouken’s truly a Dead Apostle, she would have died in his hands long ago.’

“Oh, but he did.” The thing grinned, his pale, glassy eyes seeming to shine with malice, hate and amusement. “Your father knew, Rin Tohsaka. He knew, yet he left her with me regardless.”

Unbothered by the horrified look on her face, the thing continued, each word was like an arrow coming straight at her heart. “The fool thought himself smart, he wanted to steal House Matou’s Magecraft, and since I’m such an old and fragile thing, he thought in spite of the methods I’ve used to extend my life, I’d die before him, rendering the Geas between us useless… Ironic, given how he died, stabbed through the chest by his most trusted apprentice.”

A deranged expression soon sprouted on his aged and wrinkled visage. “That’s right, the man responsible for ruining your inheritance, the man whom you’ve trusted so much, despite how you usually act towards him, is also the man who murdered your father. The look on his face when Kotomine Kirei’s Black Key exited his chest was almost… Priceless.”

The Tohsaka Heiress stumbled back, tears marring her cheeks as her thoughts moved to the first discussion she had with Leonis, the discussion of the future, and how he had repeatedly warned her about Zouken and Kirei.

‘He knew.’ She realized. ‘He has known for years, and he didn’t tell me…’

“Do you want to know what I did, what my Crest Worms are still doing to your sister, Tohsaka Heiress? Do you want to hear how she begged and screamed and cried for her mom, her father, her sister even when she’s being violated by my familiars? It took awhile, but I did eventually break her down, leaving her a soulless shell.” His aged features started twisting in hate, cruelty and madness. “I’m not an unreasonable man–”

The Golden Queen interrupted with a snort. “You’re no man at all, mutt. You’ve renounced the right to call yourself that the moment you chose this path.”

“If I may finish, your Grace.” There was a tinge of annoyance, a flash of irritation on his face, but Zouken had done well to keep it from his voice. Yet the calm way in which he spoke only served to heighten Rin’s anger towards the repulsive creature. Gilgamesh narrowed her eyes, blowing at her nails with a bored look. “Speak, insect.”

“As I was saying, I’m not an unreasonable man by nature. I’m quite merciful, I’ll say. I’ve allowed my granddaughter–” The Tohsaka Heiress knew not what he had done to her sister, but judging from what he had mentioned previously, it made the word sound that much more foul to her ears. Unable to listen any longer, she shouted. “Do not call her that! Sakura’s not your granddaughter! She will never be, I’ll save her!”

“You? You’re but a stupid girl, you can’t even protect yourself, let alone–”

Enough! I’m not here to entertain your nonsense, Worm. Speak before my patience runs out.”

“… I merely wish to bring my granddaughter home, give Sakura to me, and we can act like nothing happened.” Zouken scowled.

“Are you threatening me, mongrel?” Portals flashed to life behind the Golden Queen, hovering menacingly. “It is not a threat, your Grace. But you’re in need of entertainment, are you not? What entertainment can better compare with a Quest to save the Princess from the clutch of an evil Magus like myself? Such premise is basic, but there is a reason classics are appreciated.”

For the slightest second, looking at Gilgamesh’s contemplating expression, Rin wad genuinely fearful that she might agree. Much like Apostles, Heroic Spirits could also no longer be considered human. Some might have managed to preserve their sanity, but there were plenty who were as mad as they come, and the Queen of Heroes, in spite of all the helps she had given Leonis, seemed to fit better in the latter category.

“No, no! You can’t–!”

A sharp snort from Gilgamesh cut into the desperate tirade the Tohsaka Heiress was about to unleash. “I like you better than Tokiomi, but if you do not have a death-wish, do not presume you can dictate my actions.”

Whatever words she had thought of died in her throat as Rin slumped. It’s over, if the Heroic Spirit really wanted to give Sakura to the Apostle, there was naught a thing she could do to stop her, and she had little doubt that if that were to happen… Her little sister was as good as dead. “No, I won’t allow you to–”

Yet again, she was interrupted, but not by Gil, but by a loud grunt coming from the Matou Zouken as his form flickered, seemingly struggling to keep itself together. The swarms of Insects commanded by him shrieked as well, visibly pained. Some even died on the spots, their once meaty bodies shriveling up into dry corpses, spilling green bloods on the ground. “Wha‐ No… No, no, no! What have you done, Leonis Magnum! Come out!”

“There is no need to yell, I’m here.” Her friend’s voice was the most precious and reassuring thing the Tohsaka had heard as of tonight. Even knowing he had kept these secrets from her, Rin could not deny that as she breathed a shaky sigh of relief. “Leo, you’re finally here…”

Her friend teleported in front of her, leaving trails of Mana Particles scattering to the winds. Then, he looked at her with the warmest expression she had ever seen him wear, purposefully ignoring the Apostle. She blushed as his hands reached forth to wipe the tears trailing her cheeks. “It’s done, Sakura’s safe. He can’t hurt her anymore, I promise.”

He nodded towards the Golden Queen thankfully, a gesture that was returned, though she noticed Gilgamesh’s was more… Motherly. “You know–”

He began in a bored tone. “– I’m not exactly a good person, I won’t lie and say I’d have wasted my time to save someone completely unrelated to me. Unfortunately for you Matou Zouken, Sakura is Shiro’s friend and Rin’s sister…”

Leonis cracked his neck. “Originally, it wasn’t really personal, but you made Rin-sensei cry, and that’s a big ‘no-no’, so I propose we play a hide’n’seek. You’re gonna do the hiding, while I hunt for the disgusting familiars Crest Worms you’ve raised. The game ends when I’ve killed them all, and subsequently, you.”

The Magus clapped, a sadistic smirk creeping on his lips, one so utterly unfamiliar to the Tohsaka Heiress that she even found herself shaking slightly. “But don’t worry, I’m not an unreasonable man… I’ll give you a five minutes head-start.”

Arms spread in a pose, the teenager chuckled.

Rin, try as she might, couldn’t help but find a sense of vicious glee at seeing the Apostle’s words being thrown back at his face.

I suggest you run.

And ran, Zouken did,

Body falling apart into the same Worms that had bound together to create his current body, along with his decaying swarms of Insects.
