In response, the old geezer smiled at me. He took a black golden small box out of his coat, opening it, he took out a cigar. With a plastered smile on his face, he put the cigar in his mouth and took out a lighter, lighting it with fire. He inhaled and exhaled, a cloud of smoke out of his mouth.
“If I say I’m correct about the arranged marriage. What are you going to do about it, brat?”
“What are you expecting me to do?”
“I’m the one questioning you.”
“...” I furrowed my eyebrows, glaring at him.
“Nice eyes you got there. It reminded me of your mom. Hahaha...” the old geezer laughed.
“See that Yu-chan? He’s expecting a child to do something against him. Isn’t he too pitiful?”
Yuki only nodded in response, as she’s still shivering in fear of her grandfather.
“Oi, don’t bring my granddaughter in our conversation, stop running away.”
“I’m not running away. I’m just enlightening your granddaughter against you. Oh, how pitiful, how can a 10-year-old child go against the head family of the Hatsumi clan.”
“Brat, are you sure that you’re 10? And not an adult with a body of a 10-year-old?”
“My birth certificate is on my mom, go ask her.” I shrugged.
Then I continued, “Plus, I made a promise with Yuki and Naoki to marry them both! Beh!” sticking out my tongue.
“That’s why I’m against it! I’m not going to let my lovely Yuki share his husband!”
“Deal with it.” I shrugged.
“Suya!” a girly voice yelling my name in a faraway distance.
I shifted my gaze towards the voice and saw a blonde hair girl with emerald eyes, waving at me while being accompanied by a girl who’s about the same age as her with silvery-blonde and has the same amethyst eye color as mine and Yuki.
“Nee-chan!” I exclaimed.
“Suya~!” she immediately embraced me and rubbed her cheeks against mine.
“Nee-chan! That grumpy old geezer is bullying me again!” I pointed my fingers at Yuki’s grandfather.
“You! Don’t slander me!” the old geezer shouted.
In response to what I said, Nee-san glared at him sharply. Then the silvery-blonde hair girl spoke.
“Grandfather, why do you like bullying, Tatsuya?”
“Not you too, Sayuri.”
“Grandpa... He’s bullying Tatsu...” Yuki mutteringly said.
“See, even Yuki.”
“Ugh.”
Sayuri-neesan then shifted her gaze to Yuki and patted her head while saying. “Happy birthday, Yuki.” with a smile on her face. Yuki’s response. She cast her head down and bashfully said. “T-Thank you, Sayuri-nee...”
“By the way, Grandfather, who are those people behind you?”
Realizing that those people who followed and accompanied him stayed behind him, he said in response. “Oh, they’re from our branch family and other noble families. They were supposed to be the ones whom Yuki needs to greet earlier, but she sneaked out and to meet that brat.”
“Grandfather... You know it’s Yuki’s birthday, and she’s still obligated to do that? Let her have fun, it’s her birthday.”
“You did the same on your 10th birthday.”
“Grandfather...” narrowing her eyes to him.
“Fine, fine...” the old geezer then looked at them and said, “... you guys can go now.”
One man spoke up worryingly and said. “But, Koichiro-sama, what about the greetings? Can’t we at least have our sons greet Yuki-sama?”
Following him, two followed and spoke up too.
“I agree with him, Koichiro-sama.”
“Y-Yes.”
Pulling out his cigar and exhaling a cloud of smoke, he shifted his gaze to them, looking at them with disdain. “And? I remembering saying to you all to leave.”
“B-But...”
The old geezer smiled and said. “Did you really believe that brat about the arranged marriage? Look at him once again.” he then pointed his finger at me.
All of them turned their heads towards me. Upon seeing me, they were all surprised because I was smiling at them devilishly while sticking out my tongue. After that, I spoke. “Ihr seid alle behindert (You are all r*tarded)” still maintaining my devilish smile.
However, after I said that. All of them can’t seem to understand what I said and only looked at me with a puzzling expression, not only older people but also the younglings with them. Not only them but also the people who were watching us since earlier. Only a few people laughed, and those were the people who understood me like Sayuri-neesan and the old geezer.
After laughing, the old geezer said. “The marriage thing is false, you guys should go back and enjoy the party.”
“Koichiro-sama... But...”
“Did I stutter?” the old geezer said firmly.
“N-No... What about the—”
“Didn’t I tell you it’s not true? Are you actually believing the kid? Or you’re hoping for that from the start?”
“T-That’s not what I—”
“Don’t speak anymore. For clarification, I didn’t introduce you to my Yuki because of the possibility I’m searching for his future husband, but to establish a healthy relationship with you all for the prosperity of the household. I’m letting her understand who she’ll be working with once she grew up. And, not to find her a husband.” he then looked at their sons, who are shivering in fear as his sharp gaze scared them.
He then continued. “Especially, not to these spoiled brats. I’d rather have that disrespectful kid than these kids. At least that kid is more talented on everything and has a thinking capability of what’s best for himself and others.”
“I knew it. I’m the only best viable choice.”
“Shut up, for a while. Adults are talking, brat.”
“Tch, what a tsundere old geezer.”
Ignoring me, he continued. “So, are there any complaints about what I said?”
All of them said. “No.” Then all left us while having disappointing faces as they drag their sons out of the old geezer’s sight. After they left, the old geezer smiled.

“Shall we head back? Let’s go to my study room.”
We followed him.
────── ✯ ──────
Entering the huge antique door, that leads to the study room of Hatsumi Koichiro, the current head of the Hatsumi Clan for 41 years. Following him, he sat on his chair while we sat on the 2 couches that are in the center of the study room.
“Tatsuya, follow me to the other room. Only him, okay?” he said firmly.
I followed him, though my sister was persistent in following me inside but got held by Sayuri-nee who’s strong enough to stop her. Yuki stayed silent all this time, while Naoki was eating her another cake that she took before going here.
The old geezer closed the author and sat on his chair as he pours his whiskey drink on his glass, then he spoke.
“Thank you for helping this old geezer, Tatsuya.”
“No problem, gramps. I treat you as my grandfather too, so that stuff is meant nothing to me.”
“I’m glad you see this old man that way, thank you. What a smart child you are. I really can’t understand how come those parents of yours can reproduce one of a kind child, like you.”
“Nee-chan is smart too though?”
“That’s not what I meant, but who cares. Let’s get to the main topic.”
I nodded.
“Now, the rumors about your existence will be spread among nobilities in this country. And, that’ll be an additional burden to you and might as well to your parents.”
“I know. Mom and Dad agreed to it too.”
“That’s the problem, you’re just a child. My consciousness can’t help but get worried about your well-being.”
“I’m okay with it. Gramps didn’t really confirm about me being her fiancee, but you only let them know that you’re not interested in an arranged marriage.”
“Nonetheless, they will think that you’re her fiancee at how close you two are.”
“That’s fine, at least it helped Yu-chan.”
“Yeah, thanks for that. Now, those bastards will stop sending me letters for Yuki’s hand in marriage. But, the problem with Sayuri is still there, and she’s the main target of all those bastards since she's the eldest.”
“How about me?”
“Haa... It won’t work. Sometimes, I forget that you’re still a kid. Tell me, are you really a kid? The way you talk to me with a dignified presence is really bothersome.”
“You’re the one who taught me...”
“Oh, yeah... Hahaha...” Gramps chuckled.
As he laughs, someone opened the door. I looked at it and saw a blonde-haired woman, who had a similar appearance to Naoki in her business attire, holding some paper documents on her right arm.
“Old geezer, here are the papers you asked me for.”
“Sakura, I told you to send it to my secretary and learn to knock.”
“Don’t be stingy, it’s Yuki-chan’s birthday. How can I not visit her? You know, how much I adore that child.”
“That's not—Fine, just put it on my desk.”
“Okie~ But first, I’ll be giving my favorite child a kiss.” Aunt Sakura went to my seat. She leaned in and kissed me on my forehead with a hug in the end before going out.
After she left, gramps massaged his temple while saying. “What a stubborn woman. I can’t understand what Haru saw in that girl, for him to go crazy over her. She’s a skilled attorney that acts professionally in court, but outside...”
“...”
“Sorry about that. Where were we? We’ve talked about the danger of what I did, right?”
“Yes.” I nodded.
“Good. Haa... Why am I talking to a kid... Your parents should be the one talking to me about these things, but you’re the only one in here.”
“I can take care of it.”
“You’re still a kid, regardless.”
“But...”
“No matter how mature you think, there’s only one truth—You’re still a kid. Remember that.”
“...”
“I’ve already told you about this, Tatsuya. In this world, every human or every living creature in here has its own limits that they need to respect. No matter how small that is, we are only limited to what we can do. Yes, pushing your limit has its own perks, but what did I say about that?”
“Pushing your own limit has the highest probability of risk.”
“And, where that correlates?”
“High risk and high reward are only for idiots.”
“Good. Remember, always think for the people below us, not only for our own gain. If we treat a huge business like gambling, thousands of jobs are on the line because of that. They have their own family to feed. Yes, starting a business is a huge risk factor because the probability of success is low, but once you attained that success, learn to be adaptive and broaden your views.”
“Why am I getting sermoned again...” casting my head down.
“Tatsuya.”
“Yes!”
“I’m sermonizing you, not because I like it, but it’s for your own gain. Not even my own son was able to be taught by me, instead, I gave you the privilege to learn from me. I want you to cherish that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Once you let go of that opportunity, you’ll only be left by regret.”
“Yes.”
“I want you to protect Sayuri and Yuki in my stead once I left for a vacation.”
“Vacation?” tilting my head in confusion.
“Yeah, a one-way trip vacation.” Gramps smiled wryly.
“Gramps...” I got what he’s trying to say.
