“It’s all this woman’s fault! It has nothing to do with me, don’t look at me for compensation!” The man hastily retreated a few steps as the lady stared at him in disbelief.

One could witness another’s heart once they encountered troubled times.

The lady was also cowardly, but she tried to maintain her stance, “How do we know that you’re not wearing a counterfeit?”

“We can go have its authenticity checked, but the cost will be borne by you.”

“I-” The lady was tongue-tied. Studying the male’s temperament, he had the airs of a young master from a rich family.

People also want to make a profit when they produce counterfeits. Who would be so stupid to imitate such an exquisite but unconventional luxury product?

“So? Where do you want to go to get its authenticity checked?” Gu Jing Yuan asked nonchalantly.

The lady’s face turned from green to white. She made her decision as she stammered, “I- I’ll apologize. I’m sorry.”

In all honesty, he was not a petty person. But this person dared to bully Tao Yi Xi and was not going to apologize sincerely, this made his anger flare up more.

If he had not made it back in the nick of time. She would have cut a very sorry figure. He did not want to think about how embarrassed she would have been.

She could lower her head, but she must not be insulted.

Hearing Gu Jing Yuan’s words, the lady’s expression ashen further. She shut her eyes so tightly that lines were formed at the corners of her eyes as she helplessly awaited her ‘retribution’.

Suddenly the man shouted, followed by the sound of water hitting the ground.

The woman opened her eyes only to spot the man wearing the drink instead. The tapioca pearls hung on his freshly permed hair, cutting a sorry figure.

Tao Yi Xi’s expression was solemn and cold but surprisingly charming, “We run a proper and upright business. But this man isn’t anything good. Everything happened because of him. Let me give you a piece of advice, don’t go picking up men from the dump site.”

“Damn you!” The man rushed towards Tao Yi Xi.

With a kick, Gu Jing Yuan sent the man crashing to the ground. The man hollered in pain as his butt blossomed.

Gu Jing Yuan looked down at her and softly asked, “Is this good enough?”

“Yes,” Tao Yi Xi slowly put down the glass and nodded.

Gu Jing Yuan glared at the scumbag on the ground, “Scram.”

The man did not dare to act insolently. He suddenly recalled that he had a girlfriend as he called out to her, “Jing Jing, come help me up.”

Although the lady hesitated, she still went forward.

After all the dust settled, the sister who claimed to have a stomachache, returned.

“Yi Xi, I’m so sorry, I never expected that such a thing would happen.”

Tao Yi Xi looked directly at her, but the sister avoided her eyes.

Tao Yi Xi gave her an ostracizing smile, “Sister, there’s no one who doesn’t get their feet wet while walking along the shoreline. Be careful or you’ll crash.”

“You… what are you talking about, I don’t understand at all.” The sister remained stubborn and did not heed her advice.

“You’re on your own. I still have other things to do, I’ll be leaving first.”

Having a good appearance could act as a pass that many beauties take full advantage of, but there should be a bottom line on how far it went.

Thinking about how many shady long-term customers that sister had on her hands, she was bound to clash and burn. The end result might be worse than what had already occurred.

Gu Jing Yuan was waiting for her at the entrance. The wind was cold, but because his sweater was wet, he held onto his coat and a paper bag.

Seeing her step out of the cafe, he took out the pinkish Gucci scarf from inside the bag and handed it to her.

Although the two of them gave each other the silent treatment for the past few days, the amount of care and concern shown to the other party did not lessen.

Tao Yi Xi received it and her fingers lightly brushed across his hand.

It was cold.

The two made their way to the bus stop. When the bus arrived, Tao Yi Xi boarded the bus and Gu Jing Yuan followed closely behind.

In order to accommodate her, this Young Master had been commuting via public transportation every day.

Previously, he had the opportunity to take the public bus a couple of times. He hated how the bus swayed and jerked, he dislike the crowded environment where everyone was pushing each other, and the smell was also unpleasant.

However, when the bus driver slammed on the brakes and she fell into his arms, that feeling was fantastic!

As the bus was also packed with people, he could justifiably wrap her in his arms. Suddenly, all those little things he found hateful about riding on the bus became quite cute.

After being on the road for a while, he finally realized that the route was unfamiliar.

“Aren’t we going back?”

“En, going to the mall.”

Originally, he thought that she wanted to buy something. Who would have expected that they ended up inside a men’s clothing store.

The salesperson spotted the two good-looking people and as he studied their attire, his eyes lit up.

“Hello, how can I help you?”

“Where is the sweater section?”

“Please come with me.”

Tao Yi Xi looked through the selection meticulously. Occasionally, she would fiddle with the material and when she spotted something she liked, she would pause. Her head would tilt to the side as she carefully tried to imagine what it would look like when worn.

Gu Jing Yuan followed behind her with a soft expression.

Her eyes skimmed the various coats and landed on a pink sweater.

When he bought clothes for her, he seemed to prefer pink-toned clothes.

Observing how she took the pink sweater off the rack, Gu Jing Yuan’s expression became twisted.

She couldn’t be planning to buy that for him, right?

No boys would wear pink.

Tao Yi Xi enquired about the cost before picking out the size for 1.85m and handed it to him.

“Let’s give it a try.”

Gu Jing Yuan strongly opposed to it in his heart as he reluctantly received it from her. Then he slowly made his way towards the fitting room as though he was heading towards his death.

Males were quick to change their clothes and he was done in under a minute.

Just as Tao Yi Xi was contemplating if she needed to choose another one for him if it did not look good, he stepped out in front of her in the new sweater.

She was momentarily stunned in place.

He was naturally pale, the pink matched his red lips and white teeth, it was a very eye-catching sight.

This was not a shade of color he owned before.

The handsome and stoic youth suddenly had a gentler and more approachable appearance.

Gu Jing Yuan uncomfortable tugged at the sweater, not really daring to look at himself in the mirror.

It was so weird to be wearing pink. He wanted to change out of it immediately.

However, he came to a halt upon meeting her astonished gaze.

She did not hide her admiration. Smiling widely at him, she complimented, “It looks good on you.”

The salesperson also snapped out of his reverie. “Sir, I must say, you’re the best-looking lad I’ve ever seen in pink. It also matches with your girlfriend.”

Gu Jing Yuan stopped tugging as he glance at their reflections in the mirror. The sweater he wore and the scarf around her neck were very well matched.

His brows gradually relaxed. Suddenly, this sweater did not look so unacceptable anymore.

“Then we’ll take it.” Gu Jing Yuan reached for his card when, “Beep-”

Tao Yi Xi successfully paid for it by scanning the QR code via WeChat.

“What are you doing?”

“I can’t afford to buy you a sweater worth tens of thousands. Just make do with this 800yuan sweater first. You can throw it away after we reach home.”

“Aren’t you currently working part-time? How much can you possibly have?”

“The salary given by this part-time job is fairly generous.”

A large portion of it came from him when he order exclusive companionship. She would just take it as returning the wool to the sheep.

“You didn’t need to spend that money, I could’ve just swiped my card.” Gu Jing Yuan could not understand why she wanted to waste her money like this.

She paused, her clear eyes reflecting a touch of pink, “I want to buy it for you, is that okay?”

“…” Gu Jing Yuan’s ears turned red. He did not rebut anymore.

Of course, it’s most definitely okay…

Approaching the door, she instructed him, “Put on your sweater.”

Gu Jing Yuan obediently put it on and the two took the bus home together.

This time, when the bus braked, he took her hand in his.

It was warm.

The cold war between the two silently came to an end.

After they reached home, he changed out of the pink sweater. The soft fabric was no worse than the ones that cost tens of thousands.

This was what she bought for him.

He clumsily folded it and placed it in the closet.

The joy on his face could not be concealed.

The next day, when she came down he had already changed. He was still wearing that pink sweater.

Tao Yi Xi did a double take.

Turns out this guy really likes pink after all.

He glanced at the time and asked, “You’re not going to work?”

“I’ve quit.”

“Oh,” he did not feel the need to ask why. As long as she left that god-forsaken place.

Tao Yi Xi pondered for a moment before asking, “Ge-ge, do you want to go to the library together?”

“En.”

“Then please wait for a moment.”

“Alright, no hurry.”

Tao Yi Xi turned back, “Remember to bring your coat.”

“En.”

They had returned to their original routine. And yet, it did not feel the same.
