Enjar yipped from the pains coming from his backs. His left eye was closed, seemingly trying to bear the painful things being done onto him. His arms stopped groping the wife’s body, and seemed tense for some reason. The quiet loving situation seemed to get ruined because of the things that were happening.
If one was hurt in ‘this’ kind of situation, then what can that person do about this? Communication was important after all, or else they could not enjoy the moment better.
Vebi realized there was something wrong and stopped rubbing his back. A look of concern appeared on her face. As far as she knew, she only pressed her bands gently on his back. She did not even scratch his back using her nails. Especially when it was just some small hugging right?
“What’s wrong, Dear?” Vebi asked slowly. Because of her close distance with Enjar, she naturally did not need to talk louder. Saying in lower volumes was more than enough. She pulled out her face from burrowing it on Enjar’s chest to take a look at Enjar’s expression. And just like she expected, he seemed to be hurting for some reason.
Enjar proceeded to explain what happened. “I think it was from before…” Enjar said dispiritedly. His eyes seemed dim and low, looking like he was helpless and could not do anything about it. Looking at the situation, it seemed pretty serious that it could not be delayed anymore for the interrogation. So Vebi asked for more details to understand the situation better.
“What happened? Did something happen today? Did you get hurt?” Vebi got worried for the obvious reason. Just the day before, Enjar was almost dead and she thought she could not see him anymore in this life. If somehow Enjar fell into that kind of sickness again, how could she not be worried?
Her heart beat faster after that thought crossed her mind. It seemed that Enjar really was not okay! If that was the case and she knew that was the reason, she would have been trying her hardest to stop Enjar from going out today and brought him to a physician. She somehow regretted her action before for not stopping him. But the wood had become ashes, what she could only do at this moment was to treat the problem because the prevention step was already too late.
"I met Kail from that Gril family and his goons. And we got into a little fight." Enjar sighed and had a complex expression drawn on his face. He looked like he had a problem that stood in his way. A problem that was hard for one to clear and a problem that usually came at the most unexpected time for most people.
Her worry was shifted to another problem. But her worry was not reduced in the slightest. It seemed that his problem came from the Gril family! She naturally knew Enjar's relationship with the Gril family. Their relationship was rocky at best, and it seemed that they did something to Enjar today. She needed to know what happened because her worry increased yet again!
She put her hands on his face, around his chin and his cheeks. She asked with a gentle expression, tinged with a little bit of concern. Her voice sounded melodious and beautiful, very feminime that put Enjar’s ears in peace and happiness.
“Did they do something to you? They did not hurt you or anything, right?” She asked while she gripped her hands onto his face firmer than before. Either she was tensed from the fear and worry, or because she was angry at the situation that happened to Enjar. How could a wife not be sad when her husband was hurt by someone else? How could she not be worried about him?
“.... It’s nothing much but we had a little fight today.” Enjar explained while smiling mirthlessly to her. As if he was truly a victim that could not do anything about the misgivings that were being done to him by the oppressors and the culprits. Hearing this, Vebi’s heart skipped again.
“You had a fight? Then what happened? Why are they fighting you?” Many questions sprang up inside of her mind. For the reason why they acted against him today, she probably knew the reason why. But to confirm her guess, she needed to confirm it with the man in front of him. He was the one who directly put himself to mess with their business and affairs, so his answer was the best confirmation naturally.
She knew his character well and knew that he would tell her the truth. So naturally there was no hesitation for her to ask this kind of question to him. Especially when she was his wife that he loved dotingly, no?

“Well, we got into a conflict because they were doing unreasonable things! They wanted to prosecute me right in front of many people in the bright daylight! So how could I let that happen? I did what I can to fight them and teach them that I am not a pushover man. Even though I was alone at that time, it doesn’t mean that I am afraid of them!”
Enjar said as if he was bragging in front of his crush. His eyes narrowed and his mouth looked like he could not wait for a moment to harrumph. Looking dashing and brave in front of their loved ones were men’s honor and achievement that they could not wait to happen.
Vebi naturally understood how men’s minds worked. She too was proud that he dared to fight against them when he was surrounded by many people. She too was happy that the man still looked fine after he got into a fight with them. But she got worried for another reason. It was true that he came out unscatched and without any harm done to him, but what if he was truly harmed? What would happen to him then? What would happen to her and Tara too if he was even killed in that fight?
But she knew that he was doing what was right. She knew that the man even stood up against them and bravely fought against them and she felt like she could not be more proud of him. One of the reasons why she married him was because of this criteria that he had after all.
Enjar could see the complex expression drawn on her face, with a smile plastered on her mouth. She rubbed her face with his hands tenderly and kissed her forehead lovingly. The situation became more intimate and warm for them. Vebi accepted his gestures happily and replied it by hugging his body again.
She put her hands on his back, feeling his broad back that had carried the whole family’s living by himself, bracing into the outside world and faced the outside of the house’s problems, just like how a husband’s responsibility was.
“Ouch, ouch, ouch…” And it was at that time also, Enjar let out pained sounds.

Enjar put off his clothes and showed his back toward her. On that part of his body, there were two big bruises that appeared menacingly. They had gotten blue and pointing out upward like two hills that pointed their peaks to the skies.
Vebi instinctively put her right hand on her mouth, surprised by what she had witnessed just now. So his back was hurting! That was why he got hurt every time she touched his back.
The size of the bruises was not that big actually. It just seemed menacing because there were only two bruises that appeared on his clean and clear body. And it was just pure coincidences that her hands landed on those spots.
And honestly, it was unavoidable to be touched because the location was at the right spot where the hands of the one who would be touching him were. The bruises seemed like it came from two blunt attacks that landed on his back. The hits seemed to be pretty hard, considering how blue it looked.
Vebi looked very sad after seeing what happened to Enjar. Her heart felt like it was being clenched by something, looking so worried and a bit distressed. Enjar saw her and he could not help but take a deep breath, as if he was trying to calm himself down. Or more like, he was trying to smell something. Something that smelled good and addictive. He grinned when he let out his breath.
