Chapter 70: Chapter 70 : A Contrast

All of the people here went back to Wheatfield Village. The atmosphere was dominantly a cheerful one, where it was around 90% of it. While for the 10%, it was a mournful one. For the villagers, this victory was not without a sacrifice. There were more than 50 people that died in the battle. So even though for the most part it was a happy occasion for the villagers, the . Such is life, battle against the oppressors would undoubtedly take life. Either one dared to change or not, that’s the point. 

While for Alvred and his men, they could not even smile at this point. Their fate was unknown, they did not know what kind of things that Enjar and the villagers would do to them. Let alone thinking about their previous plans and anything alike. They did not even know whether they would survive for another day or not. 

They were brought like a group of prisoners or criminals, with their hands tied behind their back. They were made into a line where the villagers positioned at the front and the back. Enjar was in the back position because he wanted to see the overall situation too. He did not need to be on the front because the villagers already knew his authority and power.

They walked for around an hour, because they too were quite tired after fighting in this wilderness. Especially for the prisoners who were not only tired but also low spirited. But eventually, they arrived at the village. 

At the first glance, where the majority of the people in the village at that moment were the females, the village’s situation looked tense and even eerie. The village was pretty much silent with only a very few people to be outside, doing some emergency chores and whatnot. It seemed that the remaining villagers knew that it was the best for them to be home at this moment. But after seeing the unbelievable scene where the men of the villages looked happy, with the prisoners behind the men, they were dumbfounded

The situation turned more lively as the arrival of the men brought a loud sound. The people in the village started to come out one after the other, either from the curiousity or expectation. And just like the people who saw the arrival of the men when they were outside, they too were shocked. They could not believe what they were witnessing!

Not only did the men from the villages defeat Clind and his men, they were also able to apprehend them! Not only that, the numbers were also more than what they thought. Previously, there were only a hundred men or so that occupied the village. But now, looking at the situation, it seemed that there were other people too that had occupied another place.

The vibrant atmosphere that the men brought somehow made the residing villagers happy and enthusiastic. If the men were happy, didn’t it mean that they had succeeded? And just like what they expected, the men started to preach about their victory in the battle against Clind and his men. 

The listeners were surprised that the villagers were able to subjugate Clind and his men when they too already knew just how trained Clind and his men were. Their authority in this village had been etched for these months. Even though the villagers had more people, Clind and his men were able to show their authority and thus controlled this village. Hence, it was honestly unbelievable to the villagers to win.

Even the intention or gals to fight against Clind was not there before. It was only after Enjar arrived did the villagers thought it might be possible. Enjar showed them his ideas, taught them through the drills, and showed his solemness through action. 

Especially the arrival of Enjar for the first time in this village was no more than a week. Nah, not even 5 days had passed. And the battle against Clind and his men was taking place literally 3 days since the first time Enjar came to this place. They were so surprised about this face, but reality was reality and it could not be avoided. Enjar and the villagers under him were able to defeat Clind and his men!

Yes, Clind and his men. Because the residing villagers beside the men who went up to battle did not know that Clind was just a lackey to the real experts behind him. And one of those experts, Blaid, was literally among the men that had been occupying this village. It’s just that he had been acting lowkey, being so cautious to the point of becoming a literal mob. 

Enjar and the men kept on moving, to the center area of the village according to Enjar’s order and direction. After walking for a few minutes, they arrived there with Enjar standing on a high ground.

“As of now, you can tend to your own business and activity. Lumberis will be the spokesperson when I want to do or say something. Go home and took a rest after you put these prisoners into a captive camp.” Enjar had ordered Lumberis and some of his men when they were walking to the village to make a temporary camp for these prisoners. There were still no prisons or something like those here, so Enjar proposed to make this temporary camp for these prisoners.

All of the people obeyed what Enjar was saying. They all then went into their own houses and circles, celebrating this victory and tended to their own activities. Enjar then looked in a certain direction, and he grinned. “Okay, time to take a rest as well.”

In a certain house in Wheatfield Village, there was a woman who slumped on a chair, looking lifeless and out of focus. Her eyes looked dim, and there was no vigor just like most of the people in this village. It certainly looked in contrast to the happy atmosphere like the other houses.

She had heard and witnessed what was happening in this village. She knew that the villagers had won against Clind and his men. But for some reason, she was not that happy about it. She looked quite the opposite. To the point that 

Yes, she too honestly could not believe what she had heard just like the others. She thought that the probability for the villagers to win was not that big. In fact, she one hundred percent believed that the villagers would lose if they fight against Clind and his men. But reality proved her otherwise. She was so shocked when she learned this breaking news. The news that she did not expect at all.

She then tried to contemplate some basic things. How many days has it been since the last time they were occupied by Clind and his men? It was literally 3 or so days! And now, the villagers not only defeated them but also apprehended them! As far as she knew, there was no person from Clind’s side in that battle that was able to run away. She did not know how they managed to do that.

The villagers did not even know how to fight in a war. Clind and his men were experienced in this matter, it was proven by how coordinated they were, how proficient they were in the way of weapons, and their equipment looked amazing too. 

Thus, she thought that might be a dream? One of the reasons she thought like that was, she knew what most of the villagers here did not know. She knew that there were experts behind Clind and his men. She did not know the exact numbers, but there were probably more than 3 people in her mind. These experts were able to conjure energies as if they were some magician. When the first time she heard it, she could not believe it. But when she was assured of that information, she could not help but believe in it.

Those experts were defeated, defeated by a man called Enjar who just arrived out of the blue without any premonition whatsoever. And this man brought such changes that no one in this village expected. Just what kind of a man was he then if he was able to defeat those experts and win the battle in such a short time?

Just when she was thinking about many things in her mind, the woman then saw a boy who had just arrived in the house.
