A moment later, the image of his headless body turned blurry and soon turned blank.
But Charles didn't stop there, though.
He again picked up the quill, dipped the brush into the ink bottle, and started writing.
A few seconds later, he entered the strange state once again.
Same like before, the connection with his future self got cut off as he tried to peek into that future self!
Charles then woke up and frowned.
'What does this mean? Why did the connection cut off? Something is prohibiting me from seeing the future? Or, my understanding towards Future Time is too low?' He felt puzzled.
Then, he turned his gaze towards the blank page and soon widened his eyes.
Unlike before, a completely different image appeared on the mysterious page!
It was the image of his burning body!
His face appeared distorted, and his whole body was bathed in reddish-yellow flame.
But what puzzled Charles most was why he didn't use the 'Heart of Fire' or 'Life of Fire' spell!
'Something is wrong about that flame. Is this how I die in another future timeline?' His eyebrows rose upward.
At that moment, the image blurred all of a sudden and then disappeared.
'There must be a way.' He once again picked up the quill pen and continued.
For the next 10 hours, he used the 'Books of Secrets' and checked more than 500 of his futures!
Still, the result didn't make him happy at all!
'I died in all of those visions.' He muttered in a tired tone and soon noticed that the darkness had already faded from the sky.
Dawn arrived.
He let out a deep sigh, stored the 'Books of Secrets' and other things into his space ring, and thought of going back to his room.
Just when he was about to stand up from the sofa, a blonde-haired young woman came from downstairs and soon froze.
Currently, she wore a neat long gown and held a cup of coffee in her hand.
"Mr. Charles? I thought you and Lady Natalia had gone somewhere. What are you doing here?" Jessie asked in surprise and moved in his direction.
Charles turned his head and soon greeted her with a smile.
"Good morning, Jessie. I came here to see my grandfather and I'm planning on staying here for a while."
"Make yourself at home, Mr. Charles." Saying so, she sat on the nearby sofa, held the coffee cup in her right hand, and asked.
"Do you want some coffee?"
Meanwhile, Charles stared at her in amusement, shook his head, and asked.
"How is Emilia? Did you see her again?"
From his clone's memories, Charles learned that his clone used the [Arcane Eyes] and [Hands of Wonders] skills and broke the 'Dimensional Seal' spell. After that, he, Jessie, and Destiny Lady took Emilia to the Life Church and explained the situation to Abel.
Emilia also woke up from the unconscious state later and explained everything about what happened earlier.
Although most of her memories were vague, that was more than enough for others to realize how terrifying the manipulative enemy was!
Currently, she was recuperating in the Life Church!
As Jessie heard his words, her whole body stiffened.
"N-No, I'm even scared to see her now. Although Teacher told us that he already took care of that terrifying enemy, I'm still getting unknown fear whenever I think about it."
On the other hand, Charles also turned his face solemnly and asked another question.
"What about Mage Silas and Lightning Mage Rachel? Did you receive any information about them?"
At that moment, Jessie held the coffee cup in her hand, blew the form a little, and took a sip before speaking.
"I requested Rhea to send a squad of Royal Knights to look for them. Unfortunately, things aren't going as we planned. Although she became the Queen of Iron Kingdom, not even that Kings Guard Captain Eric is listening to her words. The same goes for the other soldiers, Royal Mages, and even some servants. After she signed the document for building a new Magic Tower, the other nobles, mages, and even the Kings Guards are not showing their respect to her. If not for her faction nobles and her personal soldiers, things would have turned a lot messier by now." Her voice contains a trace of anger and helplessness.
"Why not remove the rebellious mages and Guards from their position? She has full authority, right?" Charles asked in curious.
Meanwhile, Jessie shook her head and responded in a grave tone.
"Most of them are Rank-3 Mystics. If she removes them, things might not go in the right direction. Some reckless Mystic might try to assassinate her under nobles' incitation."
Charles widened his eyes and spoke.
"Hmm, this is indeed troublesome. You should discuss this with my grandfather. He might give you a solution."
Saying so, he stood up from the sofa and started walking towards the staircase.
Meanwhile, Jessie wore a disappointing look and placed the cup on the table.
'I thought Teacher's grandson would lend us some help. It seems I was mistaken.' She muttered inwardly.
'That's why I'm telling you to ask our Teacher's help. He will solve the problem within a day.' Her second consciousness spoke coldly.
'No, we are relying on our Teacher too much. We've to do it on our own.' Her third consciousness added.
Jessie also nodded her head in approval and spoke.
'I'm going to rank up and become a Rank-4 [Knowledge Seeker] Class Mystic at the end of this week. Then, I will wait for few more days and rank up my sub-class.'
'Rank-3 [Scarlet Knight]... Do you think our mind is strong enough to resist the thirst for killing?' Even her second consciousness asked in anxiousness.
In truth, Jessie and other consciousnesses had been suppressed this strange thirst for blood during the past three years and had long realized something was wrong with this class!
But Jessie didn't put much thought into it.
During the previous large-scale war, she had acted as a commander of the nobles and indirectly killed thousands of people.
'Don't worry about it. We will face it.' Saying so, she leaned her back on the sofa, turned her gaze towards the east, and looked at the rising sun.
Meanwhile, Charles returned to his room and lay on the soft bed.
Thankfully, he didn't feel any mental pressure this time as he closed his eyes and started to snore in a minute.
He continuously slept for the next 15 hours and finally woke up due to the Church's bell noise.
His mind appeared refreshed!
He then sat on the bed, let out a loud yawn, and entered his Inner World.
A moment later, he found himself standing at the summit of a strange volcanic mountain and looked around the surroundings in surprise.
To his shock, his whole world appeared full of vigor.
Countless illusionary fire elemental trees, plants, and shrubs appeared all over the place.
'My Inner World is completely changed!' Charles muttered in shock and soon turned his attention towards seven large lakes.
