During the past two months, Charles spent most of his time in his Inner World and comprehended 70% of the 'Finger of Destruction' spell model!

Meanwhile, Edith also used her free time and continued to check future visions.

Unfortunately, she hadn't found a single clue about how to evade Charles's death.

It was around 7.A.M.

Currently, Charles stood in the underground basement hall and was in deep thoughts.

While he was in muse, a white-haired old man in his late 70s entered the basement, stepped on the concrete floor, and soon arrived in front of him.

"They still haven't returned yet." He said in disappointment.

'Oswald and Rachel, huh. Did they die in Dreamforce Lair? Or trapped?'

Charles raised his eyebrows a little and soon spoke.

"It seems we are on our own." He deliberated for a moment and then added.

"Come out of the clone body. It's better not to delay any longer."

Upon hearing those words, Oswald's eyes widened.

"Are we going now?" He asked in a startled tone.

He actually thought Charles would take a day or two to make preparations but hadn't expected him to be in a rush.

Meanwhile, Charles nodded his head and spoke.

"Yes. The more we delay, the stronger he will get. We have to kill the Devil before he grows into a great threat."

"What about the kids? They are completely suppressed by the Tower mages. If others find out that we are not in the city, things might get worse for Rhea." Oswald said in a solemn tone.

Charles waved his hand and spoke in a casual tone.

"Edith will watch over the kids. Although she is just a clone of mine, her strength should be more than enough to take care of the current problems. I also told her to visit the Royal Palace frequently and back the kids."

Oswald stared at him for a moment and nodded his head.

A moment later, his old body shook twice and started falling backward.

Then, a strange red cloud came out of the fallen body, suspended in mid-air and soon formed into an appearance of a reddish crown!

A second later, the crown began to reshape and turned into a red-gem embedded bracelet!

Charles took a step forward, caught the hovering bracelet, and wore it in his right hand.

At that moment, a metal shuttering noise came from the entrance.

Within a few seconds, a young lady in her twenties entered the underground basement hall through the straight staircase and soon froze.

She had deep-set jade eyes, long black hair, an oval face, tan skin, and trimmed thin eyebrows.

Upon seeing Oswald's body on the floor, she raised her eyebrows and asked.

"Leaving already?"

Charles nodded his head and responded.

"We will be out for a month or two. Till then, take care of everything."

Saying so, he cast [Flame Teleportation] spell on himself, enveloped his body in a crimson flame, and disappeared from there!

...

A moment later, Charles reappeared in the outskirts of the City of Iron and looked up at the sky.

The next instant, he released his full wisdom power.

Invisible ripples appeared in the surroundings as his wisdom power enveloped the royal city in a second and continued to expand like a raging storm.

Within a few seconds, his wisdom power almost covered one-tenth of the kingdom's territory!

But what's more shocking was that none of the Rank-4 Mages perceived it!

Charles scanned all those areas for a second and rose upward.

Unlike before, he didn't use any wings spell at all!

His current wisdom power was so strong that it could even move large rocks and buildings!

He hovered in the sky while familiarizing himself with the new flying method and shot towards the southwestern direction.

Two days later.

It was around 3 P.M.

Somewhere in the Ember Kingdom, near Perley City.

A lone male figure descended from the sky and soon landed in the middle of lustful woods.

Startled by his sudden arrival, the nearby birds and animals started to make noises.

The young man glanced around before brushing off the specks of dust on his linen shirt and washed his face using a water pouch.

Once he was done, he looked in a particular direction and started walking towards it.

Currently, Charles wore regular linen clothes and looked more like a commoner young man.

After walking for a while, he soon found a lone dirt path and started following it.

As he moved, some pedestrians or caverns appeared in his sight from time to time. Some moved far ahead of him, while others moved in the opposite direction.

Without minding the passerby pedestrians, Charles continued to walk on the path and soon reached a vigorous grassy plain. Different kinds of plants, weeds, and even some beautiful plants appeared on the sides.

He glanced at the surroundings and focused his gaze on the city.

Perley City was located on the tropical river coast, where the vegetation was lush.

After walking for a while, Charles reached the entrance gate, guarded by several armored leather guards, and joined the nearby queue.

Then, he waited for another hour in the queue, paid a few silver coins, and entered inside.

Just as he walked in, buildings' architecture, pedestrians' clothing, and ordinary citizens' activities caught his attention in a second. With a single look, anyone could tell that people here were fabulously wealthy.

But what made him raise his eyebrows was that this city was filled with all kinds of Churches' believers.

In a few minutes, he already walked past more than five different Churches!

Holy Knights, priests, clerks, and even mages were quite common in this city!

The street roads were clean and neat, even the city's security was relaxed.

It was as if the people here hadn't seen any crime for a long time!

Charles was stunned for a moment and soon looked around to gather some information.

At that moment, he saw a weathered man with a narrow ribcage was currently polishing a shield in the corner and went towards him.

Upon sensing his arrival, the pale-skinned wiry human looked at him up and down and greeted him with a slight bow.

"New to the city? Are you here for information?" He asked as if this was a common thing.

"Yes, I came here to meet a friend of mine." Charles paused for a moment and asked him a few questions.

On the other hand, the pale-skinned human gave precise answers and even told him to take shortcut routes.

"If you take the Illusion Street route, it will only take 15 minutes for you to reach Nobles' Street by walk. But be careful of the street dogs, young man. Even I got bitten by those damned dogs twice. After that, you can directly go to City Square, move to Nobles' Street, and look for your friend over there."

Meanwhile, Charles listened to his every word and then resumed his walking. He walked past many street stalls, inns and reached Illusion Street.

Just like what the man said, the whole street was filled with barking noises!

Thankfully, Charles silently released his wisdom power and knocked them unconscious.

After walking past Illusion Street, he entered a dark alley and moved to Nobles' Street.

Although this city's population was only around one hundred thousand, it still appeared crowded!

After another few minutes of walking, he entered Nobles' Street and moved towards the largest four-storied mansion in the whole street.

But as he walked near the mansion entrance gate, two muscular guards in their silver armors raised their spears and pointed them in his direction.

"What are you doing here, commoner?" One guard took a step forward and asked in a cold tone.

Meanwhile, Charles stopped his footstep, raised his hand, and smiled.

At that moment, a transparent flame appeared on his hand, manipulated the nearby water elements, and created a ball of water!

The ball then shaped into a knife-life structure and started to freeze!

Upon witnessing such a scene, both of the guards retracted their weapons and apologized.

"May I know your name please, master Mage?" One of the muscular guards asked.

Meanwhile, Charles nodded his head and spoke with a smile on his face.

"Astinus Croft, I'm a friend of Saron White."
