Chapter 479: A Lone Princess's Grief

Three weeks later,

Throne Hall, Royal Palace, Royal Capital.

Many things had happened in the Aetas Kingdom during the past three weeks.

First, Charles was crowned as the next King of the Aetas Kingdom and even recognized by the Light Church two days ago. Although some nobles and even army commanders protested and opposed Charles, Melody, and Irzoch managed to solve everything in no time!

It was a huge change in his opinion.

Even though he became the King and even formed a formal alliance with the Light Church, there was one thing he was still wary of.

It was the mysterious seer who goes by the name Victor.

Although Cardinal Smith was keeping an eye on him, he still felt that he had to do something about this matter.

Second, Irzoch's investigation about the Demon Sorcerer Nash and the Silver Crown gave him some big clues towards Deceivers organization and its origin.

From the investigation, Charles learned that the one who gave the 'Silver Crown' to Prince Julius's mother wasn't Nash but someone else!

But the Demon Sorcerer Nash also seemed to have shown interest in this 'Silver Crown' and even tried to steal it seven years ago. Unfortunately, he got caught by Duke Ismael and was imprisoned for more than six months.

Later, Prince Julius's mother recruited him under her wings and even gave him the guard position.

But what startled Charles most was that the Demon Sorcerer Nash worshipped a being named Amay!

In truth, he also remembered Nash mentioning that name during the Castle Massacre incident but hadn't given much importance to that information at that time.

Moreover, Irzoch also found strange inscriptions, engravings, and even an Angel-like statue in Nash's secret cabin.

With all the clues, Charles came to a bold conclusion.

'There is a high chance that this Amay might be the name of the Angel sent by Goddess Zaqiel. Then, who is this Bryson? Maybe a cult leader?' He shook his head and leaned his back on the throne.

At this moment, he sat comfortably on the golden throne and glanced around. The Throne hall didn't look like it was in despair. All kinds of people appeared all in the hall, and there was even an orchestra playing music before him. It was usual for the Kings of Aetas to invite poets, dancers, or musicians to the Throne Hall and present gifts for the best ones.

At that moment, the ones who stood most inside the Throne Hall were privileged commoners, guards, and merchants. Only a few nobles participated in this event, but they too appeared bored. On the other hand, the commoners seemed very enthusiastic, and some even already immersed themselves in the music and rhythm.

Charles also lost interest in hearing the old-type music, but he maintained his composed look and pretended like he was watching the show in surprise due to his current position.

Alas, he entirely focused his attention on the other matters.

'I also feel that there might be some connection with the warning words from my future self.' Muttering inwardly, he continued to do his acting for the next two hours and finally ended the orchestra after giving the entertainers gold coins and gems.

Once everyone, including nobles of Aetas Kingdom, left the Throne Hall, he breathed out a sigh of relief and crossed his legs together.

'Irzoch and Melody had already left the city. All I need to do now is upgrade my [Arcane Eyes] skill, wait for my subordinates to complete their mission, and then start the game.' The corner of his lips curled upward as he touched his space ring and took out a black-covered book from it.

It was an unknown language book that Cardinal Smith sent to him a day ago. In truth, 63 similar books were stored in his space ring, and each book had more than 1000 pages!

But what's more surprising was that the language written in the book was even alien to the Pope or other High-Rank members. That's what Cardinal Smith told him before giving them for his research purpose.

Alas, the Light Church made copies of the original one and placed them in the Holy See's library to show off.

'Cardinal mentioned that I need to return this batch of books within the next three months. It seems he used some of his authority to borrow them from the library. Anyway, what I need now is to improve my overall knowledge.'

There was a reason for Charles to learn new things. Currently, he didn't have the system cube to build other spell models, nor did he have the Class-Gems to rank up the Sub-Class.

So, instead of wasting time, he decided to upgrade his [Arcane Eyes] skill by learning a new language and knowledge without any help from outside. He knew that if he wanted to stand toe to toe against those monstrous beings, he should at least possess a vast amount of knowledge!

Shaking his head, he opened the book and tried to read the title.

At that moment, his [Arcane Eyes] skill activated on its own and gave him some form of a clue about the first word.

It was a strange feeling that he felt when he entered into the state of enlightenment.

'Is this the power of wisdom? Or, insight?' He stared at the first word for a whole minute and soon muttered.

"Astial? Is it a name?"

'It seems it would take some time to decipher the content of this language.' Muttering inwardly, he closed his eyes, took out all 64 books from the space ring, and placed them next to the golden throne.

Then, he read the second word and soon widened his eyes as he felt different meanings.

"Development... No. Breeding? Cultivation?...Refinement? Nah, it's something else. Wait. Civilization? Astial Civilization?" He smiled as he grasped the title's meaning and soon shifted his attention below.

After some minutes, he also managed to decipher most of the letters on the title page.

'Volume one: A Lone Princess's Grief... by ??????-' He frowned as he stared at the author's name for a moment and soon paused in surprise.

Even though he saw something written over there, he couldn't even decipher what it was.

He then tried to probe the meaning of the name multiple times but felt something invisible was blocking him from even reading it!

'I can see some invisible power around this name.... A spell used to block others from reading a particular word or a name?' He felt that was the possible explanation.
