Chapter 532: Crows

But Charles knew that the higher beings didn't have any power to corrupt his mind like the Divines.

'They may have the power to change the fate of the world itself, but even they seemed to be functioning under some laws. Moreover, this 'Time-Loop' spell is helping me achieve my goal. As long as I'm aware of the difference between reality and vision, I'll be able to break this spell and achieve my goal.'

He muttered to himself and soon spoke.

"If what you say is true, then we should think of a way to stop Professor and his gang from assassinating Demigod Rafael."

Jessie also nodded her head, opened the carriage door, and told Oliver to go to the Northern part of the Underground District.

The carriage soon arrived at the Northern Graveyard, stopped in the nearby garden, and soon Charles and Jessie walked out.

Charles then moved towards the compound gate that surrounded the graveyard and looked at the hundreds of stone slabs placed inside. He then pointed his finger in a particular direction and spoke.

"That's where they are going to conduct the funeral ritual. Now, what's your suggestion?"

Jessie thought for a moment and soon spoke with a thoughtful look on her face.

"I read a saint's book called God's Virtue, and a single verse in his book suits our current condition, Mr. Charles. On a particular page, the author said: whoever be the speaker, whatever be the content, to find the truth is the role of wisdom."

"So, let's wait until the evening and observe the whole situation. Once Professor and his group assassinate Demigod Rafael, we should follow them closely and think of a way to extract more information about this group."

"I also have the same thought." Charles nodded his head, returned to the carriage, and waited.

Hours passed in a blink, and soon it was around 3.50 P.M.

Then, Charles looked outside through the carriage window and spoke to Jessie.

"Wait inside the carriage. I'll go and check the situation."

"You don't need my help?" Jessie asked in surprise.

Meanwhile, Charles shook his head and responded calmly.

"You are too weak to participate in the spying mission."

Before she could say something, he opened the carriage door and walked outside. Then, he walked towards the opposite side garden and sat comfortably on the wooden park bench.

After that, he adjusted his monocle and directly looked at the opposite side graveyard entrance. At that moment, John and other security members stood outside the entrance gate and were in the middle of checking strictly the mourners.

'No wonder they manage to fool the Demigod Rafael. These are some real acting skills.' While muttering, he moved his gaze away from them and looked inside.

At that moment, hundreds of mourners had already gathered in the graveyard, and even the three mysterious black-robed mages were in the middle of doing their funeral ceremony. Charles also saw Ezra standing within the crowd of people, and he seemed to be chatting with a bald man.

'That guy... I didn't even sense the slightest hint of hostility from him at that moment.' He recalled how he was stabbed by this guy and clicked his tongue.

While he was in muse, a luxurious black carriage drove past him, made a turn, and soon stopped near the graveyard entrance.

Then, the carriage door opened with a bang, and soon a young man in his 30s walked out of it with an anxious look on his face. He had messy black hair, amber eyes, a shallow nose, tan brown skin, and wore white linen clothes. He also held a leather bag and appeared to be around 175 cm high.

He was the same young man who stopped their carriage when they traveled through the Bronze Lane.

'I think his name is Marvin.' Charles nodded thoughtfully and quietly observed him.

Meanwhile, Marvin glanced around like a cautious young man, moved towards John, and hurriedly got a blue crystal from him. Following that, he entered the graveyard, stepped on the overgrown grasses and weeds, and soon reached the faraway crowd.

After that, he mingled with the crowd and tried his best not to make suspicious movements.

At that moment, Ezra moved closer to Marvin and started chatting with him like his best buddy. If not for Charles's previous vision knowledge, even he would've thought of them as some long-lost friends who met each other coincidentally.

A few more minutes later, Demigod Rafael and Secret Witch also came from another luxurious carriage, entered the graveyard through the entrance, and soon arrived next to Elder Seer's coffin box.

Then, both joined the funeral ceremony and co-operated with the three-robed mages.

At the end of the funeral ceremony, Demigod Rafael took the nether sake cup from one of the black-robed mages and drank it.

Like the last time, he looked at everyone and started giving his funeral speech.

While he was speaking, Charles suddenly looked at the nearby trees and noticed a strange phenomenon.

At that moment, the crows that sat on the tree branches suddenly flapped their wings one by one and flew up in the dark gloomy sky while cawing continuously. They soon appeared above the place where the funeral ceremony was occurring and started flying in circles.

"What are they doing? Is it due to the strange funeral ritual?" In truth, Charles didn't notice this strange incident in the previous vision and was stunned by this scene.

In the meantime, Marvin also took out the bluish crystal from his pocket and broke it when Rafael started stammering.

Then, he took out the same chaos scroll from his space ring and tore it with both hands.

The next second, an illusionary eye appeared above his head, and soon a blackish-red bolt of lightning came out of it.

The bolt of lightning tore through the space in a blink, appeared before Demigod Rafael's forehead, and disintegrated him!

While Marvin was focused on assassinating Demigod Rafael, Ezra quietly took two steps back, casually took an eerie black sword out of nowhere, and stabbed him from behind.

Just like what had happened to him before, Marvin's body turned eerily blackish in an instant, bulged like a balloon, and exploded while sending darkish flesh, blood, and bones in all directions.

At that moment, the three black-robed mages also went after Secret Witch, bombarded her with unique spells, and killed her in two seconds.

But what shocked Charles was not Ezra's action or the three-black-robed mages' action but something else.

At that moment, the circling crows suddenly started to transform into humanoid shapes and directly descended towards the mourners.

Before the elite Legend Rank Mystics and Pseudo-Legends could understand the situation, more than thousands of black-cloaked humans fell from the sky one by one and started attacking them.

'What the hell?!' As Charles took a closer look at one of the black-cloaked humans, his pupil shrank drastically.

At that moment, he saw a symbol of a goat skull with ancient runes on it.

The runes read: "death is permanent."

'Divine Order Organization!' A cold look appeared on his face.
