Chapter 547: Hide and Seek

Charles nodded his head as he heard the security guard's response, adjusted his bowler hat, and moved towards the right side.

Before long, he arrived at the end of the passageway and soon saw signboards of men and women.

He casually removed the bowler hat from his head, stored it in his space ring, and moved towards the women's restroom entrance.

Then, he glanced around, checked if anyone was nearby, and walked in.

A few minutes later, a young woman in her late twenties walked out of the restroom, took out red lipstick, and applied it to her smooth lips.

Then, she stored the lipstick in her space ring and started walking in the passageway.

She had long black hair, deep-set jade eyes, an oval face, tan skin, and trimmed thin eyebrows. She wore a full-sleeved black top, pants, and brown leather shoes.

The person was none other than Charles in Edith's appearance.

After walking for a while, he reached the airport's entrance, walked past the security guards, and quietly exited the airport building.

Then, he made a swift glance and soon zeroed his gaze on a blonde-haired young lady standing at the farthest end.

She was dressed in a beautiful, long red-colored long gown and held a black, high-quality purse on her side.

'Jessie.'

But he didn't get closer to her. Instead, he slowed down his footsteps and quietly observed the surroundings.

Within a few seconds, his expression turned gloomy.

'They are monitoring Jessie's every movement like a hawk. I should better move on my own this time.' He thought to himself as he walked past Jessie, strolled through the long concrete road, and finally reached the main road.

After that, he looked at many carriages moving on the street road and soon went towards the wooden carriage parked nearby.

Meanwhile, the coachman also noticed his arrival, jumped down from his seat and greeted him with a smile. He appeared to be around 30-years-old, with fair skin, and had elongated eyebrows. He wore a simple black cap, dark grey-colored shirt, black pants, and a pair of white sneakers.

"Where do you want to go, Young Lady?" He asked politely.

Charles also smiled at him and spoke in a young female voice.

"Go to the Miracle Museum. Take the main road path." Even though he spoke in a female voice, it appeared more like an authoritative tone.

Without waiting for the coachman's reply, he walked toward the carriage's door and entered.

On the other hand, the coachman nodded his head stiffly, tied the horse rope to the carriage, climbed up to the driver's seat, and started driving the carriage.

In the meantime, Charles sat comfortably on the seat, moved the brown curtain, and looked outside through the glass.

Simultaneously, he took out the stopwatch from his space ring and checked the time.

'6.57 A.M. Two minutes late.' He nodded grimly and soon shifted his gaze towards the right side cut road.

It was the shortcut route to Dew Street.

'Wait. If I take the main road, it will take too much time to reach the destination due to the heavy traffic. But if I take this route, I'll reach there quickly. No, I can even follow Hayden quietly and learn more about their schemes.' At that moment, he vaguely felt that the Elder Seer's death might have something to do with this group!

He abruptly opened the carriage door and spoke in the same feminine voice.

"Take a left turn and enter the alley road."

Although the carriage driver got confused by his words, he didn't say anything and obeyed his order by pulling the horse's rein.

Then, he made a left turn, drove the carriage towards the opposite side road, and entered the small alley road.

The carriage quietly moved deep into the alley road, entered the Bronze Lane route, and soon reached Dew Street.

Then, the carriage entered the Dew Street dirt road and quietly moved up ahead.

On the other hand, Charles quietly looked outside and soon squinted his left eye as he saw multiple visions.

Those visions showed that Charles's eyes met with a random black-robed passerby.

But what's surprising was that the black-robed guy summoned three golden skeletons suddenly and attacked the carriage the next second.

As he saw those twenty similar visions, Charles instantly identified the black-robed guy and widened his eyes.

'Brooks!- No good!'

He hurriedly averted his gaze towards the opposite seat and closed the curtain.

'He is going to the four-storied mansion building, huh. But he seems to have a great perception-' He froze for a moment and soon cursed inwardly.

'He might have the skill to distinguish between the enemy and a friend. I should act carefully.'

The next instant, he closed his eyes, entered his Inner World, and extracted all information about Brooks and Professor from his consciousness.

Then, he made them into a pure cloud of memory and gave it to one of the consciousnesses.

After that, he opened his eyes and soon showed a confused look on his face.

'Strange... Why did I order the coachman to enter Dew Street earlier?' At that moment, he noticed that another order had come from his Inner World.

'I've to go to the Dew Street Junction and stop there. But for what?' He instantly realized that he was taking precautions against some enemy and decided to act along.

On the other hand, Brooks didn't notice anything odd about the carriage that drove past him and continued to walk towards the faraway mansion building.

"But I hate being ordered around. Moreover, why do I have to do the guarding?" He grumbled inwardly.

"There are only a few more hours left for the main scheme to happen. Hmm, Professor might've sensed something." Unlike other Destiny Conquerors', Brooks knew more about Professor's skills and power and felt glad inside.

'Although I still don't know his real identity, he is a powerful God.' Even for the Destiny Conquerors, reaching the Demigod or God realm level was only a pipe dream.

'But as long as we manage to kill Demigod Rafael and Demigod Emerson today, we'll take full control over this Miracle City. Then...' A wicked grin appeared on his face as he thought of their next goal.

'Then, we shall activate the 'Miracle Core' and merge the three Magic Towers. When that happens, an ultimate Miracle will descend upon this world within the next few years.' Even he or the other fifteen Destiny Conquerors knew nothing about this miracle.

But Brooks heard from his master that frequently activating the 'Miracle Core' would lead to a severe loss of 'Luck' worldwide, which might increase the probability of the Edhen World's destruction!

But Brooks and others didn't put too much thought into that future danger.

In truth, he had never heard of a Plane being destroyed by some higher power in his life.

Moreover, they were currently living in a Higher World.

'I once read in a story that even the Ancient Gods failed to destroy a Plane called 'Itera' and even got themselves killed. So, I don't think there is an existence out there that could destroy this Edhen World.' He chuckled inwardly and soon noticed that he had arrived near the four-storied mansion.

He hurriedly moved towards the compound gate, asked the gatekeeper to open the gate while showing a unique badge, and walked inside.

In the meantime, Charles also noticed that the carriage reached the Dew Street junction and entered the Underground District's main road.

At that moment, another order appeared in his mind.

'I should wait here and wait for three carriages from Dew Street. And then, I've to follow after them.'

He opened the carriage door, stuck his head outside, and spoke to the coachman.

"Park the carriage on the opposite roadside."

"Yes, My Lady." The coachman nodded solemnly, drove the carriage towards the other side of the main road, and parked it there.

In the meantime, Charles opened the other side carriage door and looked in the Dew Street road's direction.

Minutes passed quietly.

After 5 minutes, three luxurious carriages came from Dew Street, reached the Street Junction, and entered the main road.

Then, all three carriages made a U-turn and started driving in the direction where the Merchants' Market was located.

"Follow those carriages," Charles ordered the coachman and shut the door.

Although the coachman got annoyed, he didn't say anything and obeyed his order.

He followed the other three carriages for the next five minutes and soon pulled the horse's rein suddenly.

He also quietly made a clicking sound using his tongue to communicate with the horse, drove the carriage towards the roadside, and parked it at the nearby shop's entrance.

Then, he jumped down from the driver's seat, moved towards the carriage door, and knocked twice before speaking.

"Those three carriages stopped, My Lady. What is your next order?"

Alas, no response came from inside!

"Are you in there, My Lady?"

He tried to open the door but soon noticed that it was locked.

'Did she fall asleep?' He frowned deeply and knocked on the door loudly.

In the meantime, a blonde-haired man quietly stood a few ten meters away from the carriage and stared at the three luxurious carriages in silence. Currently, he held a black-covered book in his right hand, wore a golden-lined red robe, and looked more like a scholar.

He was none other than Charles.

He chose Prince Julius's appearance this time and decided to play hide and seek with Professor.
