Chapter 52 Part 2

Mo Fei Chen was happy in his heart, if Lu Qingmo were placed in the present, he would be a diamond bachelor, with talent, fame and good looks therefore if he were to marry the Qu family’s young lady, they would be considered as a well-matched in social and economic status and also a match made in heaven.

Lu Qingmo made a bow with hands clasped and said indifferently, “Sect Master Qu, this humble one used to wander around and have no plans to settle down.”

A trace of regret flashed across Qu Shaofeng’s eyes yet he still invited him politely, “Lu Xiándì1[贤弟; term of respect for a younger brother or younger man] has misunderstood, I would like to invite you to watch the match with me, since choosing a son-in-law for my daughter is a big matter, and it would be good to have Lu Xiándì here as a witness. Besides, you and this… friend of yours have come to Yu Lin Town, so it is only right that you let this Qu Mou do my part as a host.”

Lu Qingmo lowered his head as he looked at Mo Fei Chen, after all, it was hard to refuse such a kind and generous offer from Sect Master Qu, however, Mo Fei Chen did not seem to want to stay here.

“Lu Dage, I haven’t seen the martial arts competition for marriage anyway, why don’t we go and have a seat?” Mo Fei Chen thought to himself that Qu Xiruo was most likely his half-sister, since she was about to get married, he wanted to see who she would end up with.

“Then It’s better for me to accept deferentially than to decline courteously , 2(恭敬不如从命: this idiom used when accepting gifts or favour from one’s elders or superiors)I’ll respectfully disturb Sect Master Qu.” Lu Qingmo said as he smile.

The three of them went back to the top floor of that restaurant with their own qing gong.

Mo Fei Chen’s Qing Gong possessed natural grace as he floated away, from this, his internal strength could be seen. This also made Qu Shaofeng’s mind wonder that naturally no one else at his age could match him. On second thought, to have Lu Qingmo call him little brother, then this young man was certainly out of ordinary.

When the three of them returned to the loft, Qu Xiruo could see Lu Qingmo’s face even more clearly, and his cheeks were flushed red.

Mo Fei Chen knew in his heart that this younger sister (mei mei) was probably secretly in love with Lu Qingmo.

“Xiruo, come see Lu Qingmo from the Mu Yun Mountain Manor, though his Dang Xiao Sword become one of the ten most famous swords at the same time with this your father’s sword, but your father’s cultivation is far inferior to his.”

Qu Xiruo naturally had heard of Lu Qingmo’s great name before as she nodded her head and bowed as a gesture of salute.

“Thank you so much, Mr. Lu, for taking the time to come to my daughter’s martial arts competition.” Madam Qu also lowered her head and bowed.

Mo Fei Chen turned his face to the other side and took a light breath.

Qu Shaofeng turned back and asked, “I wonder where this little brother is from?”

“This humble one is the disciple of Kun Yun Mountain Manor, Mo Fei Chen.”

“Mo Fei Chen? Are you the closed door (last) disciple of He Yunfeng?” Qu Shaofeng looked as if he was in a daze, then he realized why this young man’s qing gong was so superb.

“Exactly, but I am not well in my study so

I’m afraid I’ll be a disgrace to my master’s reputation.” Mo Fei Chen was facing his mother’s second marriage partner, therefore he could not help but be cautious in his speech and manner.

“He he he, you are too polite. Just now, Mo Shao Xia’s qing gong let this old man open my eyes. I hope that later we can have the opportunity to have a duel and show me some of your skills later.”

Qu Xiruo looked at Mo Fei Chen and realized that although he was dressed differently, he had handsome features and a lightness of touch between his eyebrows. The meaning of Qu Shaofeng’s words just now was clear: he hoped to recruit Mo Fei Chen as his son-in-law.

This was a very reasonable idea, although Qu Xiruo was interested in Lu Qingmo, Qu Shao Feng understood that a young and pretty daughter from a humble family like his own daughter will not be able to trap Lu Qingmo who was unruly by nature. Although Mo Fei Chen was young, he was a disciple of a famous and prestigious sect. He previously also saved the sect leaders when Muyun ShanZhuang was attacked by Jing Shui Sect, even Liu Feiying of Xiushui Palace was once saved by him. As the saying goes, heroes emerge from youngsters. Mo Fei Chen’s future in the martial arts world would be boundless.

“He he, I am sorry, Sect Master Qu. It’s just that my family’s master, He Yunfeng, has instructed me, as a young disciple who has not yet reached the level of expert, please not to make a fool of myself in Jiang Hu, not to provoke and attract joke and since today is a martial arts competition for Miss Qu’s marriage partner, this junior dare not to act rashly.”

Qu Shaofeng felt very sorry and regretful for him, he thought that Mo Fei Chen would have to obtain He Yunfeng’s consent for such a big event as marriage.

There were already some audiences off the stage making a fuss and asking when the competition would start.

Qu Xiruo looked down at those martial artists who were behaving quite bold and straightforward, she was a little shocked, and then she furrowed her eyebrows. As the saying said, the older the wiser, with only the coughing of Qu Shaofeng had suddenly silenced the crowd.

He first said that he had invited Lu Qingmo to be his honoured guest and that he would make sure that the competition was fair and impartial. He then stated the conditions for the competition, which were that he must be under the age of 35 and over the age of 15, never married, never engaged to another person, and of a clean background. The competition must go on to the end, with no hidden weapons, no poison, and no deliberate attempts to kill anyone.

As soon as the tournament was announced, people entered the ring and the challengers were in an endless stream.

Qu Shaofeng’s fingers kept fiddling with the long beard on his chin, while Qu Xiruo frowned slightly, showing that none of those who came to the stage could meet her eyes. Mo Fei Chen thought to himself, ‘It’s just the matter of course, to be the son-in-law of the Qu family, one must at least be able to control the invisible sword energy!’ The few people on the stage really didn’t meet this criteria.
