Xiang Ning panted hard, looking as if he was about to pass out any time, yet he was still arrogantly mocking them! The teenagers who had been born with a golden spoon in their mouths could barely stand it.
“How dare you! You only got lucky with Kuang Yong, why’re you acting so arrogant!”
“Hehe, anyone under tier one, seven-star, don’t even think of stepping forward. Kuang Yong has shown me all that you’re capable of, I don’t want to fight anyone weaker than the guy I just beat.” Xiang Ning remained arrogant as ever.
To be honest, he had no choice. If they all provided three digit experience points, he wouldn’t have minded kicking all their asses with some acting and improving his skills. However, that tier one, seven-star bastard could barely give him a hundred points, so wouldn’t he be wasting his time on anyone weaker? He still had to storm Third School today, and there would be many stronger opponents there.
“Fuck! Don’t hold me back, I will pummel him!”
“I’ll smash his head to pieces!”
“Well, my name is Tian Zhong, a tier one, eight-star martial artist and tier one, four-star spiritual cultivator. Show me what you’ve got!” Tian Zhong held an MX39 Pulse Assault Rifle, used to puncture a tier one beast’s defenses. Tier two martial artists would find it a difficult weapon to deal with, because humans excelled in offense and not defense.
Xiang Ning squinted. This student was proficient in both spiritual cultivation and combat, and both were of decent tiers too. He must have improved greatly from the wilderness activity, for he was quickly catching up to Li Zimo.
Since this was his first time fighting a spiritual cultivator, Xiang Ning was excited. Although hot weapons weren’t friendly towards martial artists, this was his best opponent out of the bunch.
“Xiang Ning, you should admit defeat now. Unless you’re a tier three martial artist, don’t you even think you can dodge a bullet from a hot weapon!” The teenager holding the MX39 Pulse Assault Rifle grinned victoriously as he swaggered along.
Many girls looked at him with earnest interest. He was talented, after all. But no one expected Xiang Ning’s lips to slightly curve upwards. That was a powerful weapon! If he was shot by it, how many experience points would he gain? He grew impatient as he thought about it.
“Fang Rou, Xiang Ning will be fine, right?” Li Zimo worriedly asked. Although the bullets from this weapon were specially made to not puncture flesh, getting shot would still hurt quite a bit.
“Don’t worry, I believe in him.” Fang Rou trusted in his abilities.
Lu Shiyu nodded. “Xiang Ning is pretty strong.”
On the other end, Zhang Tao smirked next to Zhang Cheng. “He overestimates his abilities. This part-time student thinks he can beat Tian Zhong, who’s currently a hundred meters away from him. He should take a good look at himself.”
Zhang Cheng didn’t reply, his brows slightly knitted. He had a feeling that Xiang Ning wasn’t as simple as he presented himself to be.
As the crowd whispered, Tian Zhong fired first. In an instant, Xiang Ning was hit.

Xiang Ning stumbled two steps back from the searing pain, his features contorted. This time, he was truly in pain because his crotch had been hit!

The people standing behind Xiang Ning didn’t see where he had been hit but when they saw how Xiang Ning stumbled with a deep groan, they panicked and rushed forward. Xiang Ning raised his hand to stop them. He looked up, his eyes slightly reddened as he hoarsely asked, “You… did that on purpose?”
Tian Zhong smirked and shrugged, nonchalantly replying, “I apologize, my shot was a little off. I’ll shoot more accurately next time.” He had full intentions of shooting the same spot once more.
The entire crowd laughed. It felt good to see Xiang Ning in pain.
“You should hurry off to the hospital to get it checked out, just in case you end up infertile,” another guy laughed.
“Yeah, don’t blame Brother Tian Zhong if you can’t do it next time.”
Waves of laughter erupted as Fang Rou and the rest turned red trying to hold back their anger. Xiang Ning straightened himself, then gave a psychotic smile.
Tian Zhong immediately frowned, unsure why he felt a sudden chill down his spine. He started firing again, his main targets the head and crotch area. He wasn’t planning on aiming for honorable targets.
When the crowd thought Xiang Ning would be hit once more, their vision blurred and Xiang Ning stood to the side of the line of fire while all the bullets hit the soil in a ‘poof’ sound.
“How’s that possible!”
“Wait, he dodged the bullets?”
“Tsk, he was just lucky. He dodged them this time, but if Brother Tian Zhong fires consecutively, would he be able to dodge them all?”
When Xiang Ning moved once more, Tian Zhong was left stunned. He witnessed Xiang Ning’s peculiar footwork as he charged toward him, scaring the soul out of Tian Zhong so he stopped fooling around with his target and started firing in a sweeping motion.
“Keen Observation, Shadowmist Ghost Step.” Both skills were activated. Xiang Ning could anticipate the bullets’ targets 0.3 seconds before they arrived and used his Shadowmist Ghost Step to dodge. Although he couldn’t avoid them all, he successfully avoided injuries to critical areas.
Congratulations! Level Up.
Level: Tier two, two-star martial artist (180/6000)
When Xiang Ning arrived before Tian Zhong, he was already unable to fire a single bullet. Xiang Ning grinned, raising his iridium sword high. “Mountain-Splitting Slash!”
“Ahhhh!” A chilling scream echoed. Xiang Ning had mercilessly struck Tiang Zhong’s weapon-wielding right hand, his immense strength fracturing the bone. If Xiang Ning hadn’t held himself back, he would have broken the arm cleanly in half at the elbow.
The crowd, standing a distance away, even heard the crack.
Before Tian Zhong could activate his battle armor, he had already collapsed, his entire body curled in the fetal position as he groaned in pain. No one reacted in time; it had all happened too fast.
“Oh my god, Xiang Ning’s that strong?” Li Zimo slapped himself in disbelief. That must have been barely three seconds! Xiang Ning had covered a hundred meters in less than three seconds, then knocked his opponent out. The guy didn't even have time to react! Was Xiang Ning even human?
High on the platform, Lei Zhongyuan’s eyes widened. 2.37 seconds—that was all the time it had taken for Xiang Ning to defeat his opponent. “That’s the Shadowmist Ghost Step, but the kid only received it yesterday! How on earth did he achieve such speed?! Terrifying, that’s terrifying! He must’ve already achieved Assimilation in the skill! He’s a monster!” Lei Zhongyuan clutched his head. The Shadowmist Ghost Step was considered a tier five skill; even he had needed half a year to achieve Assimilation in it!
