After a few moments of fighting, Xiang Ning was exasperated as his opponent fell to the ground, unconscious. If Han Wen were a dual cultivator, it would have ended like the fight with Tian Ling, but this new opponent was merely a spiritual cultivator with a body no different than a regular human! [1]
“No! Han Wen fainted!”
“What the fuck! That was a Common Mk. 2 Armor he just destroyed! Not even beasts would be able to tear it apart, and to think that he split it in half!”
“How is he that strong?”
“Wait, why did those flying knives stop midair?”
Every student in Hanwu Academy was clenching their fists. While they weren’t the ones being defeated, they had still been collectively humiliated as their representatives were defeated one after the other.
“Xiang Ning! Do you really think Hanwu Academy has no other candidates that can defeat you?” The teacher from before was not in a good mood. Tian Ling suffered some serious injury, but at least he wasn’t knocked unconscious. But now Han Wen had immediately fainted. How serious was his injury?
“Wait, please listen to me. I’ve already said that if he was a dual cultivator he wouldn’t have fainted.” Xiang Ning said. With his current strength, a normal spiritual cultivator couldn’t even handle a single attack from him even while they were wearing their armor. Not only was he higher tier, but his Mountain-Splitting Slash was even at Peak Mastery. If he didn’t hold back, Han Wen would have been dead.
“Good, I admit that you are strong. But don’t you dare look down on us! Even if I lose a limb, I swear I’ll bite a chunk of meat off you!” An imposing figure stepped forward, fury plastered across his face. He took a look at the unconscious Han Wen. I’ll definitely avenge you!
“Is he your friend?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. Please let him know that I apologized for my behavior when he wakes up. It was my fault for not controlling my strength. I already said earlier that only tier two and above should come and challenge me. Wait—are you a tier two martial artist?”
Fury Points +211
Why’re you getting angry? I’m just confirming whether you’re tier two or not!
“Hanwu Academy Han Tianci, tier two, one-star martial artist! Accept my attack!” A long sword appeared in his hand and his muscles were rippling with strength. Suffice it to say that his appearance alone would be enough to suppress weaker opponents.
Xiang Ning nodded and steeled his gaze. “Alright, come!” His composure changed, too—it was as if he was a different person.
Everyone else was too stunned to speak. Didn’t he just say that he doesn’t look down on tier one students?! Didn’t he just contradict himself?! The students wanted to tear him apart.
Han Tianci focused as strength erupted from his body, his muscles rippling like waves. Xiang Ning was flabbergasted. What the hell is this?!
“Look! It's young master Han's signature attack, Ripple Slash!”
“Didn’t he train it to the Awakened tier? Even a tier two middle-stage martial artist would have a hard time blocking that attack!”
“I want to see how Xiang Ning blocks that strike!”
Ripple Slash? It was the first time he had heard of that technique. He turned and looked at the charging Han Tianci. His muscles were rippling and Xiang Ning felt that his sword was gaining strength and speed.

“The secret of the Awakened tier lies in the user’s understanding of their martial technique. To achieve it, you must be one with the technique. You can rest easy knowing that you were defeated by this technique!” Han Tianci knew how strong his martial technique was, and was even confident that he could win against the two students that had challenged Xiang Ning before him.
Xiang Ning was surprised by his declaration and decided to use his full strength to reciprocate Tianci’s blazing will to fight.
A terrible thud was heard and everyone fell silent. Even Xiang Ning was at a loss.
“What just happened? Han Tianci just passed out!”
“No way... that was his strongest attack! How could Xiang Ning win in one hit?!”
Looking at Han Tianci, who was being carried away, Xiang Ning was speechless. His attack was indeed strong, but it wasn’t as strong as he had thought. He had thus unleashed his full strength; luckily, his opponent was a wall of muscle and not a skinny guy like Han Wen or he would have died.
As for the rest of the students, their faces were green with resentment. If they lost to Xiang Ning, wouldn’t they be the first generation of first-year upper secondary students to be pinned to the pillar of shame since the establishment of the academy? No, if they were to lose here, how could they hold their head high when facing their juniors? They would forever carry that shame till their grave.
“I think you guys should send dual cultivators who’re at least tier two martial artists.” Xiang Ning didn’t want to waste any more time against these small fries. Their experience points were too little! He wanted to let them hit him a little.
Sigh.
He already clearly stated what he wanted, surely they would understand?
Suddenly, a blond man with a sharp nose lept out from the crowd. He was obviously not a martial artist from China. This was the first time Xiang Ning had met him, as he hadn't seen him before in the wilderness.
“Aurig Central Academy exchange student, Sakar, tier two, two-star martial artist, tier one, seven-star spiritual cultivator. I’ve always wanted to fight you since coming out from the wilderness!”
Xiang Ning scratched his head. “This… is it alright if you get hurt? I don’t want to be responsible for any international scandals later on.”
Everyone else was speechless.
“This fucker… sigh, I’m too tired to shout anymore. Let’s just see how Xiang Ning loses against him!”
“Hmph, to think that he would belittle Sakar. That exchange student is within the top twenty of the world ranking, his combat prowess is just slightly below Wu Rui. He even exchanged more than twenty blows with a tier three teacher!” The teacher in question was hinting at Xiang Ning to not worry about the consequences.
“Well, if you say so. Don’t come and find me later.” He readied his battle stance as he secretly swallowed two small pills.
At the same time, a scheme was being plotted in a corner of the audience seats.…
“Senior Yu! There’s already over a hundred thousand people watching the live broadcast!”
“Good! To think that Xiang Ning would actually come. If he’d remained silent, I would’ve been in trouble, but to think he’s presenting himself to me on a silver platter! Don’t blame me!” Zhang Hongyu laughed coldly.
1. Ed. note: it seems the author actually skipped the entire fight. We checked the raws and there was nothing there. After talking about it, we decided not to write it ourselves, because it’s not our place to write entire chapters. Minor tweaks are fine here and there (it’s all part and parcel of localizing a work), but an entire chapter is... a bit too much. Let us know in the comments if you want us to write a “fan chapter” describing the fight between Xiang Ning and Han Wen. ☜
