Chapter 151 Preparations

After lunch and a few reminders from Xiang Ning, his sister left the house.

Xiang Ning took out the phone and sent Dong Qianyi a leave request via text. He didn’t care if he would take offense, but he needed one day to prepare. Tomorrow, he would leave Marsh City for the nearest fortress, Fortress Three.

If Wu Rui could go, why couldn’t he?

He was just thinking about going to the front when he saw his Fury Points slowly increasing. His mouth twitched, then he comforted himself. They were very small numbers, and he was safely far away from his master.

Xiang Ning had been to Fortress Three for the wilderness activity. He couldn’t wait outside the city to leave with a large group; he was too late for that. And it would be difficult to return to Marsh City afterward, too.

He needed his own vehicle.

However, he didn’t know how to drive a car. He did know how to ride an electric motorcycle though, so he pulled up Earth’s Home and ordered one. It would arrive in twelve hours. He had chosen to buy a superbike perfect for transporting one or two people. Fast, agile, and perfect for this assignment.

“Berserker. 3.56 meters long, powered by spirit stones. Maximum speed up to 180 kilometers per hour, made of an alloy consisting of tier three beast exoskeleton and iridium. Weight: 480 kilograms. Very stable, suitable for all terrain types in the wilderness. Priced at three million dollars.”

He was tempted by the mighty superbike, but this model didn’t suit him. First, it was too heavy. A motorbike weighing four hundred and eighty kilograms could kill a late-stage tier two beast at maximum speed. Bikes like those were used for escorting passengers, and weren’t considered fast. Although its theoretical maximum speed was a hundred and eighty kilometers per hour, with passengers and various luggage one would be lucky to reach a hundred and twenty.

No, he couldn’t pick this. He turned on the filter to show only bikes that prioritized speed and were stable at high speeds. After five minutes of browsing, he found a superbike that suited him.

“Windbreaker. 3.13 meters long, powered by spirit stones. Maximum speed up to 250 kilometers per hour, made of an alloy consisting of tier three beast exoskeleton and iridium. Weight: 230 kilograms. Stable speed and grips the ground well, perfect for any terrain. Particle shield can withstand a tier three beast’s attack for two minutes. Priced at six million dollars.”

Xiang Ning admired the perfect curves on the white bike and the wind patterns spraypainted on it. The bike looked like a sharp knife, radiating a sharp iciness.... But it was a little expensive. Six million dollars. If he bought it, his eight-figure savings would be down to seven. He would definitely feel it. But was money the same as Fury Points? As his precious little sister’s happiness? Money could be earned, and it would just be taking another form to keep him company. This bike could withstand a tier three beast’s attack for two minutes, too. That shield itself was worth at least millions.

He entered his address and put in his order, making the decision to purchase the bike. Then he purchased more resources he would need for surviving the wilderness online, spending another two hundred thousand dollars. The bike’s fuel was half of it.

After settling his purchases, Xiang Ning picked a set of combat attire worth a million dollars, mainly to protect his critical body parts. As for why he didn’t choose a set of spiritual armor…. If he did, he could cut any damage by half. That wasn’t what he wanted at all.

If he cut the damage he took in half, the experience points he received would also be cut in half. The combat attire could not block damage done by blunt impacts, only damage from scratches. In a nutshell, it blocked sharp weapons but not blunt trauma. Sharp objects could immediately pierce through a person’s skin, resulting in obvious visible injuries, but blunt trauma could instantly shatter a person’s internal organs and bones.

“Hmm, time to replenish my flying knives.”

Xiang Ning had sufficient mental power to control hundreds of objects, but it would exhaust him in three seconds. Levitating objects didn’t require too much mental power, but when he considered that he needed to exert enough force to kill a beast, he realized he might faint from overexertion if that happened.

He opened the weapons and accessories menu and saw that flying knives were quite affordable. They were small, used little material, and simple to manufacture. They were common weapons for spiritual cultivators. Hot weapons weren’t suitable for the wilderness. Those were used when the user was surrounded by beasts or during a rescue mission. They made a huge commotion and could startle an entire beast horde.

“Hunter Mk. 3 flying knives, Capable of piercing through any Beast Soldier’s hide. Priced at thirty thousand dollars per blade.”

“Hunter Mk. 4 flying knives. Capable of piercing through a tier four Beast General’s hide. Priced at a hundred and twenty thousand dollars per blade.”

They were only one model apart, but four times the price. However, it made sense as Beast Generals were an entirely different league from Beast Soldiers. They were at least ten times more destructive.

After some thought, he purchased thirty Hunter Mk. 4 flying knives. His current mental power was only enough to control thirty blades with enough force to kill a tier three beast. As for how long, he wasn’t sure. Likely, it wouldn’t last more than three minutes.

When he was done, Xiang Ning browsed through Earth Home’s articles to understand the current situation at the front. He had to understand the types of beasts and learn more details about the battle.

Three hours later, his phone rang.

“Hello, you’ve got a parcel arriving. The product you ordered from Earth’s Home will arrive in five minutes. Due to the value of your product, may I ask if you’re currently at your receiving address?”

“Yes, I’m here.”

“Alright, please wait there, we will arrive soon.” After saying that, the delivery person hung up. Xiang Ning grinned—that was fast!

He stood up and went outside the house, looking far out down the road as he eagerly waited for his things.

Five minutes later, his expression darkened. The vehicle that arrived wasn’t a truck, as he had expected, but an airship! Since he was standing in a vacant field near his house, he was greeted with a mouthful of leaves from the air currents.

A girl in a black and yellow uniform greeted him. She was cute, with a round face, and was facing him with both palms together. “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry! I truly apologize.”

Xiang Ning waved. “It’s fine, it isn’t your fault.” He was also blushing, embarrassed that he had never known of such a thing. Who knew that Federation Express Delivery was rich enough to deliver goods using an airship? If he had known that, would he have been staring at the road like an idiot, waiting for a truck?
