Time flew by and three days passed. Xiang Ning was making good progress in the lab, and he had found out that he only needed to spend some Fury Points to understand what the other researchers were trying to teach. It was very handy.
At the very least, his foundation would be strong. As for what he could contribute in return, he tried guiding them through solving the equations. Everyone there was indeed a genius. He only needed to show them the way and they could provide even more information that even he didn’t know. As for why they had hated him before, it was because he’d been unable to properly explain his thoughts in the past, but still managed to solve the equation without the necessary knowledge. It was similar to how a tier seven martial artist would be locked in mortal combat with a Beast King, but a random tier one newbie would come in and kill the Beast King in an instant.
As for today, it was the second day after the Mid-Autumn Festival had ended. Because Xiang Ning had been busy trying to solve the equations and manufacture the dimensional rings, he was already tired. Dong Qianyi applied for a day’s leave so he didn’t have to go to school. The image of Xiang Ning stepping out of the dark room was still so fresh in their minds that they hadn’t even opened it back up.
“Hmm, let’s go find Wu Rui in the fortress. I finally have a holiday.” Xiang Ning happily walked out of the house. He was itching to fight some beasts and couldn’t sit still.
He decided to buy some local specialties before heading to the fortress. He wanted to test and see whether his dimensional ring could store fresh food without losing its freshness. Just as he walked to where he kept his Windbreaker, his jolly expression was switched to one of shock.
A piece of signboard was left where Windbreaker used to be. “Lend it to me for two days.”
Which fucke— He had no choice but to walk back to his house, He only needed a few hundred more experience points to break through to tier three, but he couldn’t find Lei Zhongyuan for help because he wouldn’t hit him for no reason. If he needed real damage to gain some experience points, did that mean that he needed to be hit by a truck? He thought about it, but quickly dismissed the idea; it would probably break his spine.
Since he had some free time, he decided to go to the Thunder Dojo and fight against the martial artists there. Maybe I’ll advance into tier three if I fought three higher-tiered martial artists at once? He stood up and walked toward the bus stop without wasting another second.
There weren’t a lot of people at the bus stop. While waiting for the bus, he texted Fang Rou to help him find someone strong to spar with him.
He suddenly heard a screeching sound and looked up. His jaw almost dropped. A little boy had dropped his toy and gone out to retrieve it while the light was still green! He didn’t even think and immediately used Shadowmist Ghost Step to grab the boy. Xiang Ning had the confidence to bring the boy back to safety, but the boy dropped the ball when he was scared by the incoming traffic. Unfortunately, the ball landed where Xiang Ning was stepping.
“FUCK!” Xiang Ning tripped as he threw the boy out of harm’s way and was squarely hit by a car.
Experience Points +612
Congratulations on advancing into tier three.
Rewards: Language Proficiency.
Tier three, one-star martial artist
Tier three, one-star spiritual cultivator
Xiang Ning was anticipating the rewards for advancing into the next tier, but he never thought it would be language proficiency. It was still an excellent skill, allowing him to talk with everything with a consciousness or soul. That meant that he could easily communicate with foreigners.
As for being hit by the car, he didn’t feel anything because his body had recovered upon advancing. Xiang Ning felt like it was no different than being hit by a tier three beast. Plus, the car had also braked, so there wasn’t much impact. He just stood up and patted the dust off his clothes.

As for the child that had been saved by Xiang Ning, his mother was strongly hugging him and calming him down.
Everyone ran up to Xiang Ning and asked whether he was alright or not. “Are you ok? Any injuries? Quickly call an ambulance! He was hit squarely by that car!”
Even the driver came out of his vehicle and checked on him. “Young man, are you alright?” The driver was confused by how Xiang Ning was still able to stand like normal.
“No problem. I’m a martial artist, this is nothing to me,” Xiang Ning assured the driver with a smile.
The mother came and apologized to the driver. “I’m sorry for not looking after my child properly.”
While it was the mother’s fault for not looking after her child, the driver decided to just let it go. “As long as he’s safe.”
He tried making amends with Xiang Ning but was turned down. Xiang Ning kept explaining that he was a martial artist so the impact was nothing to him.
Suddenly, Xiang Ning’s phone rang.
“Xiang Ning, we’re in trouble. Where are you? Can you come to school?” It was Liu Ruoxue.
Xiang Ning heard her cry for help and replied, “Calm down, tell me everything.”
“The Aurig Central Academy sent some exchange students and wanted to spar with some of our students. Li Zimo and Fang Rou were both injured. One of the exchange students is even just one step away from advancing to tier four.” Liu Ruoxue was also undecided whether she should call for help. She didn’t do it initially, because when they arrived they were already looking for Xiang Ning. It was obvious they had come to cause trouble. But now she had no choice and had called him for help.
“I understand, I’ll be there soon.” Xiang Ning’s voice was calm, too calm.
“Is everything alright?” The driver was really afraid that something might have gone wrong when he crashed into Xiang Ning.
“Hmm… could you do me a favor and drive me to Qiling Academy?”
The driver heard that and nodded. “Sure, but are you really alright?”
“I’m fine. Look, I can still walk and skip around. If something were wrong with me, would I still be able to do this?” Xiang Ning smiled.
The driver knew how strong martial artists were, but he was worried because Xiang Ning was still so young. Or maybe all martial artists are this strong, even when they’re young?
