Everyone couldn’t believe their eyes when Xiang Ning unsheathed a second flying knife.
“Why! Why is he still fighting? Isn’t he poisoned?!”
“Run away!”
“You stupid reporter! Quickly drag him away! He will really die at this rate!”
As time went on, the number of people who tuned into the livestream increased so much that it went viral throughout China. Even classes were stopped midway in the ten great academies of Marsh City.
Su Muhan was conducting class as usual, but her gut told her something was amiss. She suddenly remembered that today was the day when the special class would be sent to the battlefield.
Suddenly, one of the students stood up and shouted, “Not good! Xiang Ning is in danger!” He was so absorbed in the livestream that he forgot he was still in class.
He was none other than Wang Zhe. Su Muhan was so surprised that one of her students was in danger that she didn’t even try to maintain order in the class. “What’s wrong?”
“Erm… can I broadcast this for the class?”
“Sure.”
With her permission, Wang Zhe ran up to the front and connected his phone to the projector. In an instant the livestream was broadcast to the entire class and everyone gasped in unison. They were looking at Xiang Ning fighting against the Kaiser Aurumsaur.
“His face is so pale! What’s wrong with him?!”
“What kind of beast is that?! It’s so scary!”
“I recognize that beast! It’s a Dark Aurumsaur. But why’s it so big? It’s fighting against… a captain? He’s a tier four martial artist!”
“Holy shit! To think that the damn lizard could even suppress a tier four martial artist!”
“No, look at the flying knives! It must be Xiang Ning who’s controlling them! He’s assisting the captain! But his condition isn’t good.…”
The livestream was seen by the entire populace of Marsh City regardless of social rankings. Office workers, students, and even the elderly... everyone was mesmerized by Xiang Ning’s gallant figure.
In the headmaster’s office of Qiling Academy, Qi Jiuming was furious. He slammed his fist on the table and broke it. “What the hell are they doing?! Didn’t we agree that the students will be placed at the back to familiarize themselves with the battlefield? Why’s Xiang Ning fighting against the Kaiser Aurumsaur?! He’s even poisoned! How am I going to address this to the higher-ups?”
Lei Zhongyuan was also distressed. He had just sent the students off and something like this had happened. He immediately called Li Kaihao. “Colonel Li, why’s my student fighting against the Dark Aurumsaurs? I didn’t send them to become cannon fodder!”
Colonel Li was surprised and immediately commanded his assistant to switch the scene on the monitor and saw the situation unfolding in front of his eyes. The color drained from his face.
He took a deep breath and calmly answered, “The battlefield is a chaotic place. Your student left area C2 and went to area A1. This was his own choice!” That was the only thing he could say. He knew that the students were the future of China. All of them had the strength of tier two, four-star martial artists at such a young age. With luck, at least half of them would become a tier seven powerhouse, or at the very least a tier six. Each of them were treasures of the nation.
But still, he was the colonel. He couldn’t ignore the other area of the battlefield just for one person.
Lei Zhongyuan silently replied, “At least send some antidotes to him.”
“I will.” Colonel Li hung up and immediately ordered his assistant, “Quick! Gather a ten-man troop to breakthrough and send antidotes to him!”
“Sir, yes sir!”

While the battle was raging, within Dong Qianyi’s lab research laboratory, Old Jin was leading the rest of the researchers to solve the necessary equation. It was the final equation that needed to be solved in order to develop the dimensional ring. If it failed, the rest of the equations prior to it would have to be discarded. Even Dong Qianyi joined the crowd.

“Old Jin, the first part has been solved.”
“The second part has been solved.”
“The third part has been solved.”
Old Jin was sweating bullets as the progress was announced by the researchers. Dong Qianyi was carefully examining the progress bar. The equation was already halfway solved. If they succeeded, they would be the first to develop a technology far beyond their time!
“The ninth part of the equation has been solved.”
Everyone held their breath. The progress bar was at ninety-seven percent.
Ninety-eight percent.
Ninety-nine percent.
“The final part has been solved. We did it! We succeeded in creating a dimensional ring!” Wang Jiayan cried with joy. He immediately saved all of the data.
Everyone else rejoiced as well, some of them even crying with joy. Their names would be engraved in history!
Just as they were celebrating, the door suddenly opened. It was Alia. She looked frazzled, but she was beaming. “Dong Qianyi, I just found a method to neutralize the berserk factor.”
Back on the battlefield, Xiang Ning had recovered at least half of his strength, but his internal wounds were too serious. He couldn’t afford to move or his organs would be torn apart; he could only sit on the ground to control the flying knives.
Suddenly he received a system message.
Congratulations on advancing the technology of the human race. Calculating.…
Calculation complete
Congratulations! You have obtained a new spiritual technique, Phantom Knife Formation
Phantom Knife Formation: Number of knives affected by Mental Power of the user. Lowest requirement: Tier three spiritual cultivator, twelve knives. The number of knives controlled doubles with every tier
Xiang Ning was caught unaware. Advancing the technology of the human race? Spiritual technique? He quickly read through the description. It was exactly what he needed here! The Phantom Knife Formation allowed him to control only one flying knife and another eleven would automatically attack the enemy!
He immediately stood up and prepared the attack. Thanks to his healing pills, his Mental Power had recovered. With his current strength, he could control thirty-five flying knives for one minute.
“You… why are you standing?! Your wounds are too serious!” Wang Han tried pulling him back.
Xiang Ning took a deep breath. “I’ll be alright.”
